After 17 years of exile, the justice trial was not absent

On the morning of March 10, the sound of the gavel, symbolizing fairness and justice, sounded in the criminal trial court of the Jiayuguan Intermediate People's Court, and the court held a public trial of the defendant Hao Hai's intentional homicide case in accordance with the law, and the Jiayuguan Municipal People's Procuratorate sent personnel to support the public prosecution. This case is a homicide case that occurred in Jiayuguan City in 2003, Hao Hai absconded for 17 years, and in the end he could not escape a just trial, and what awaited him would be severe punishment by the law.

Defendant Hao Haimou, formerly known as Hao Shuangmou, male, born on February 3, 1967, a native of Bayannaoer, Inner Mongolia, was criminally detained by the public security organs on October 7, 2020 on suspicion of intentional homicide, and was approved for arrest on October 19 of the same year.

The public prosecution alleged that on the evening of August 23, 2003, defendant Hao Haimou went to prostitute himself near the cultural block of Jiayuguan City, negotiated with the prostitute Zhang Mou, and walked to the Yingbin Lake Park in Jiayuguan City to have sexual relations. After the two had a conflict and fought, Hao Hai hit Zhang's head several times with bricks, causing his death. After identification, the deceased Zhang Mou was killed by others holding a blunt instrument (masonry) and repeatedly hitting the head, causing head injury and death. After the incident, Hao Hai absconded, and on September 16, 2020, he was arrested in Linhe District, Bayannaoer City, Inner Mongolia.

Because this case is a major criminal case, the Jiayuguan Intermediate People's Court convened a pretrial conference in accordance with the requirements of the "Three Procedures" and fully listened to the opinions of the prosecution and defense on procedural issues. Defendant Hao Haiming voluntarily pleaded guilty in court and expressed his willingness to compensate the victims for their losses. During the trial, the court fully guaranteed the defendant's procedural rights and the defender's right to defend. Due to the gravity of the case, the court adjourned the case and pronounced the judgement at a later date.
