Ma Shi was a famous Cantonese opera master, Cantonese opera innovator, film performance artist, screenwriter and director. Looking back at Ma Shi's 64-year-old life, he has experienced half a century of internal and external troubles with the country, and his life is connected with the journey of modern Cantonese opera to survive in flesh and blood. In 1924, when Ma Shi starred in the role of the soul of the righteous beggar Yu Xia in "Bitter Phoenix Warbler Pity", he created a husky, depressing, and expressing the struggle of the hard-working public in the hunger and cold, which was later known as the "horse cavity" in the art world. Ma Shi once had a bright and honest life, patriotism and love for the people, and promoted the pace of Cantonese opera innovation and ideological emancipation. In 1955, Ma Shi responded to the call of the motherland and returned to Guangzhou to work with the vast number of Cantonese opera workers, so that Cantonese opera won the reputation of "southern red beans". Cantonese opera art master Red Line woman said: "Don't call me a master, Brother Ma is a Cantonese opera master." ”

In 1964, Ma Shi zeng died, and in 2013, the red line woman died, and people have sighed that "there is no sonorous horse sound in the world" and "where does Cantonese opera enter the post-red line female era". But you see, generation after generation of Cantonese opera people, their enthusiasm is so full, their courage is so fearless, and their steps are so firm. This exhibition exhibits rich pictures and precious archival objects, which can allow the audience to stroll through the long river of history and see the casting and ups and downs of the brilliant life of a Cantonese opera person in the majestic torrent.

During the National Day, the Red Line Women's Arts Center will also broadcast the red classic repertoire and movies starring the red line women every day. The Former Residence of the Red Line Woman is open to the public all day, and the audience can visit the exhibition "The Full Moon of the Thousand Years of Singing People - The 'Wang Zhaojun' of the Red Line Woman" on the third floor.
