On October 22, the surging news reporter learned from Ruijin Er Road Street in Huangpu District that as the first result of the cooperation between the street, the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts of Shanghai University, and the Landscape Planning and Design Research Institute of shanghai municipal engineering design and research institute, the theme of "encounter" "urban furniture" was introduced by the character form of the poet Xu Zhimo's small poem "Chance" (also known as "Chance Encounter" who once lived in Nanchang Road, highlighting the collision of Nanchang Road's historical and cultural feelings and modern fashion culture, aiming to intervene through public art. Change people's inherent concept of substations and create a street interface with humanistic and artistic atmosphere.

Substation retrofit ideas

"Chance Encounter" uses geometric elements such as lines, surfaces, and bodies to skillfully combine the three heads of "亻", "辶" and "禺" in the word "chance encounter", and integrates into the symbolic language of the historical buildings of Nanchang Road, creating a public place where pedestrians "walk by chance and taste roses" on Nanchang Road.

As a result, the substation has changed the dilapidated and chaotic state of the frontage façade, and has been renewed through artistic intervention, complementing the adjacent science hall, forming a continuously open street interface and integrating into the community environment.
