At the meeting, Li Di, CEO of Xiaoice, delivered a speech on the theme of "The Diversity of AI Being and the Future That Is Becoming a Reality". He pointed out at the scene that in the future, there will not be only a few artificial intelligence assistants, and not only will everyone have their own assistants, the number of AI Beings will exceed the population, in line with the characteristics of diversity and personalized customization, and become a new social node.
He revealed that relying on Microsoft's resources, Xiaoice's observation is based on 1 billion devices, social networks, content apps, and 160 million monthly active users.
In the research and development process of Xiaoice, Li Di found another possibility in addition to the omnipotent and omniscient AI products, and many people do not just want to have all-knowing good friends, but have a certain degree of flexibility. He took "please buy a hamburger" as an example, when the artificial intelligence assistant received this instruction, in a round of dialogue to understand the task, be able to predict the future habits, automatically complete the purchase is not the only indicator to measure the quality of the artificial intelligence assistant, "pay attention to the health of users" and refuse to "buy a burger" is also a judgment indicator.
He noted that dialogue is not the same as Q&A, but rather the prediction, retention, and induction of AI Beings in interactions. When he sees an arm that is dripping, he believes that the AI's response should no longer be just "this is an arm", but across the next layer of semantic space, saying "Is it seriously sick?" "This kind of caring questioning.
In terms of super natural language, Li Di said that in order to achieve a higher degree of naturalness, Xiaoice are actually learning from human flaws. Flaws such as childlike sounds and swallowing sounds can enhance the length of human tolerance for artificial intelligence sounds and achieve more realistic interactions, which also makes diversity an important feature of artificial intelligence.
Li Di mentioned in his speech that the industry has realized that dialogue should not be just the completion of tasks, but open dialogue, but the diversity of artificial intelligence has not yet attracted attention. He believes that the key to solving diversity is to support a variety of artificial intelligence with a better basic framework, rather than "pouring all efforts" into an artificial intelligence.
He stressed that the content generation of artificial intelligence is not only a model, but also contains multiple links such as deductive model, deductive ontology, deductive process, deductive result, and secondary packaging of the work. "Hopefully we don't get burdened by the definition and focus on something really interesting." Li Di concluded.
