According to public information, the predecessor of Guomai Culture Media Co., Ltd. is Hangzhou Guomai Culture Media Co., Ltd., which was established in 2012 and currently has offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou.
The founder Lu Jinbo (pen name "Li Xunhuan"), once called the "Troika of Online Literature" together with Ning Caishen and Xing Yusen, and later participated in the establishment of the Banyan Tree Website, known as the OG (Elder) among online writers. According to the prospectus, Jingwei and Bona Pictures are already the second and third largest shareholders besides Lu Jinbo, holding 11.67% and 9.25% of the shares respectively.

According to the prospectus, from 2018 to 2020 and from January to June 2021, the operating income achieved by Guomai Culture was about 305 million yuan, 384 million yuan, 355 million yuan and 204 million yuan, respectively, and the corresponding attributable net profit was about 46.3172 million yuan, 51.9003 million yuan, 40.8915 million yuan and 22.8899 million yuan, respectively.
From the perspective of main business, Guomai culture covers three major sectors: book planning and distribution, digital content business, and IP derivative and operation. According to the prospectus, all the funds raised by the public offering will be used for the construction of the fruit and wheat cultural copyright library, continue to expand the scale of book varieties, and enrich the reserve of book copyright resources.
Guomai Culture has invested in many "cross-border" films, including Han Han's "Flying Life" and "Riding the Wind and Waves", which invested 28 million yuan and 17.2 million yuan respectively, and achieved good returns. According to the prospectus, in 2018 and 2019, the company's film investment income was 13.9472 million yuan and 8.1787 million yuan, accounting for 22.89% and 11.95% of the total profit. Interestingly, at the end of last year, Luo Yonghao and Lu Jinbo also revealed on Weibo that they were negotiating the film and television script of "True Return".
With the listing of Guomai Culture, the A-share private publishing house has further expanded. Next, Motie Culture, which had published works such as "Those Things of the Ming Dynasty" and "Notes on Tomb Robbery", also submitted a prospectus to go to the GEM.
