The original intention will never change, the spirit enlightens future generations - deeply remember the revolutionary predecessor Zhang Zhizhong Comrade "Xu Jinshan"

From March to June 1989, due to the needs of my work, I was fortunate to be arranged by the county party committee to work in the party history collection office of the county party committee for nearly 4 months.

At that time, the main tasks of the Party History Office of the county party committee were: Centering on the fact that Luxi was an old revolutionary area in Yunnan and the party's activities were relatively early, and in accordance with the spirit of the instructions of the central and provincial party committees to "save the truth and seek truth" and "educate people and prevent degeneration," with "truthfulness, scientificity, militancy, and seriousness" as the guiding ideology, and to collect, sort out, and publish historical materials on the activities of the Communist Party of China in Luxi before the founding of New China.

Specific tasks: First, on the basis of the work of previous years, with chronological order and historical context as the main line, continue to revise and improve the memorabilia; second, through a large number of investigations and visits and data consultation, verification, revision, and improvement of the biographies of 6 luxi county party history figures, such as Zhang Chong, Zhang Zhizhong, Zhang Shiming, Zhao Guohui, Wei Xiaohan, and Zhang Mutian; third, on the basis of the work in the previous stage, continue to collect, supplement, revise, and verify the biographies of Li Yaojiu, Yang Xingjia, Li Xingren, Li Ping, and Chen Jingyu. In the work arrangement, I am mainly responsible for the part of the party's history figures.

The original intention will never change, the spirit enlightens future generations - deeply remember the revolutionary predecessor Zhang Zhizhong Comrade "Xu Jinshan"

In order to fully understand the overall situation during the period of the democratic revolution in Luxi County, I comprehensively read the first draft of the party history memorabilia from 1924 to 1949, read the relevant interview materials and the first draft materials of 6 party history figures, and recorded some places that need to be supplemented and improved in the first draft and the details that need to be verified. On this basis, I also found audio recordings to listen to and think, and sometimes recorded them in order to maximize the situation and prepare for the revision and improvement of the biography. In the interview materials and first draft reading of party history figures, what touched my thinking the most and inspired me the most and the deepest educational understanding was the deeds and experience of Zhang Zhizhong, an early veteran communist member of our party:

Zhang Zhizhong, also known as Zhang Yonghe, was born in 1902 in Tuoge Village, Yunxing Township, Luxi County, Yunnan Province (now part of Dongshan Town, Mile City), lost his father at an early age, was raised by his grandfather and uncle, and after completing primary school in the village, he successively entered Kunming Private Chengde Middle School and Provincial Middle School, and was later admitted to the Beiping (now Beijing) Normal University Affiliated High School. In 1919, he participated in the "May Fourth" patriotic student movement, entered Tianjin Beiyang University in 1921, and later transferred to Nanyang University (now Shanghai Jiao Tong University). He joined the Chinese Socialist Youth League at Nanyang University in 1924 and transferred to the Communist Party of China in 1925, where he was the earliest member of the Communist Party of China at Jiaotong University, the first secretary of the COMMUNIST Party branch of Jiaotong University, and the introducer of Lu Dingyi to the Party. In 1925, he was elected director of the executive committee of the Shanghai Federation of Students and participated in the organization and launch of the May Thirtieth Movement. In the same year, he returned to Yunnan and founded the Yunnan Communist Youth League organization, laying the foundation for the creation of the Communist Party of China organization in Yunnan. After returning to Shanghai, he successively served as the secretary of the Ministry Committee of The Southern District, Hudong District, Huxi District and Huzhong District. In 1927, under the direct leadership of Zhou Enlai and Luo Yinong, he was responsible for organizing and leading the workers in Shanghai's Hudong District to participate in the third armed uprising. After Chiang Kai-shek launched the "April 12" counter-revolutionary coup, in September 1927, Zhang Zhizhong was appointed secretary of the Propaganda Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee. In early 1928, he was appointed member of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and head of the Organization Department.

In early 1929, Zhou Enlai sent Zhang Zhizhong back to his hometown of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee to work, and served as the secretary of the Provisional Working Committee of Yunnan Province and the secretary of the Special Committee of Yunnan Province. During this period, he also went to the 101st Division of the Dian Army, where fellow villager Zhang Chong was the commander of the division, served as Zhang Chong's secretary, and did the work of winning over Zhang Chong.

In 1930, due to the betrayal of traitors, the underground party in Yunnan was destroyed, wang Desan, secretary of the provincial working committee, and others were arrested, and Zhang Zhizhong was also arrested by the Kuomintang government in Kunming, and Zhang Chong was rescued from prison with all his might. After his release from prison, he was hired by Zhang Chong, then an envoy to Yunnan Salt Transport, to take charge of technical management, and although he lost contact with the party organization, he continued to work for the party with the feelings of a communist, and actively searched for the party organization while carrying out revolutionary activities.

"VII. After the incident, with the consent of the party organization, Zhang Chong was appointed as the director of the political department of the 184th Division of the Dian Army, and on the way to the anti-Japanese front in 1938, when the troops arrived in Wuhan, Zhang Chong took advantage of Zhang Zhizhong's relationship with the Communist Party and secretly sent him to the office of the Eighth Route Army in Wuhan to contact him, and arranged for Zhang Chong to meet with Ye Jianying and Luo Binghui. After the meeting, at zhang chong's request and with the consent of Zhou Enlai and Dong Biwu, some communists were successively sent into the 184th Division and the underground party branch of the 184th Division was established. After Zhang Chong was dismissed by Chiang Kai-shek in 1939, Zhang Zhizhong left the 184th Division and returned to Luxi on the grounds that his mother had died of illness and returned to Luxi. In 1940, on the recommendation of Zhang Chong, Zhang Zhizhong successively served as the head of the education section of Luxi County and the principal of the provincial Luxi Normal School.

In 1951, he participated in the party school of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee to study the whole party, but was wrongly expelled from the party because of the historical "problem" of his arrest in 1930, and during the "Cultural Revolution", he was framed by Kang Sheng as a traitor and repeatedly examined. But he never wavered in his faith in communism, never said anything in front of his children and colleagues that undermined the image of the Party organization; some of the comrades who participated in the revolution at the same time as him sacrificed for the revolution, and some became important leaders of the Party and the state after liberation, and he never interceded with any leader.

In 1985, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee made a decision to correct the previous wrong handling of him, restore the party age he joined in 1925, restore the original historical appearance of his life's revolution, and completely rehabilitate Zhang Lao.

The original intention will never change, the spirit enlightens future generations - deeply remember the revolutionary predecessor Zhang Zhizhong Comrade "Xu Jinshan"

Before liberation, in the harsh environment of revolutionary struggle, in the face of white terror, he fought wits and courage with the enemy, and unremittingly worked for the party; after liberation, although he was affected by the wrong handling and the impact of successive political movements, especially in the "Cultural Revolution", he experienced hardships and grievances, but he always firmly believed in communism. For decades, Elder Zhang has always set strict demands on himself by the standards of Communist Party members, always adhered to the spiritual homeland of Communist Party members, and even in the years of being punished by mistakes, he never complained about the heavens and the people, and all he thought of was to diligently obey the organizational arrangements, do a good job conscientiously, always firmly believe in the party, unswervingly, go through vicissitudes and never change his original intention, and endure the wind and frost while his true colors remain. At all times and under all circumstances, we should strengthen our convictions, be indomitable, put the interests of the party and the people first, and never consider personal gains and losses. Elder Zhang pursued revolution all his life, made important contributions to the liberation of the people of Chinese, and the people of Yunnan, and was a heroic figure who could sing and cry, and was also a respectable old revolutionary predecessor. His high wind and bright festival made me unforgettable, and his soul was strongly shaken.

To this end, I secretly instructed myself that we must further collect, perfect, and verify Elder Zhang's biography on the basis of the first draft, and write well the revolutionary struggles, bumpy experiences, and bright spots that Zhang Lao has been unknown for decades, worked diligently and earnestly for the party, and did not benefit from fame and profit, so as to leave precious spiritual wealth for future generations and provide teaching materials for the people of Luxi to carry out patriotic education and revolutionary traditional education.

Just as I was throwing myself wholeheartedly into this work, the county party committee office informed me that Elder Zhang would return to his hometown in Luxi in the near future, and asked the Party History Office to conscientiously make preparations for the report and do a good job in receiving it.

The original intention will never change, the spirit enlightens future generations - deeply remember the revolutionary predecessor Zhang Zhizhong Comrade "Xu Jinshan"

In mid-April 1989, Elder Zhang and his daughter and grandson arrived in Luxi, and considering that Elder Zhang was elderly and had some inconvenience in moving, and for the convenience of work, we arranged for Elder Zhang and his party to stay at the county party committee guest house located in the compound of the county party committee. On the same day, Zhang Rufa, deputy secretary of the county party committee, hosted a banquet for Zhang Lao and his party in the canteen of the county party committee, and teacher Li Rongxing and I attended the banquet as escorts.

The next morning, the Party History Office of the county party committee reported to Elder Zhang on the work of the Party History Office, and after listening to the report, Elder Zhang told us in a serious tone: "The work of the Party History Office is a very arduous and important work, and Luxi is an old area of the Yunnan Revolution, which truly reflects the precious historical facts of the revolutionary struggle waged by the people of Luxi under the leadership of the Communist Party of China during the period of the democratic revolution, and can not only fill in the blanks in luxi's modern history, but also leave a precious spiritual wealth for future generations." I hope that through the efforts of all of us, our descendants will understand the hardships of entrepreneurship and the hard-won success of New China, so that they will always remember that without the Communist Party of China, there would be no New China. ”

Zhang Lao's visit to Luxi was undoubtedly a great encouragement and encouragement to the work of the Party History Office. Teacher Li Rongxing and I accompanied Elder Zhang to Tuoge Village, his hometown where he had not returned for decades. Hearing that Elder Zhang was going to return to his hometown, the party committee and government of Dongshan Township, Mile County (after liberation, the administrative division changed, and the area around Tuoge Village was placed under the jurisdiction of Mile) attached great importance to it. After our party arrived at the township government, the township party secretary personally reported to Elder Zhang, focusing on the development and changes of Dongshan Township in recent years.

After lunch, our group arrived at Lao Zhang's hometown of Tuoge Village, which is a mountain village surrounded by green trees and beautiful scenery, and The former residence of Elder Zhang is a courtyard with a front main room, a left ear room, and a hall room on both sides of the gate. After liberation, the government arranged for 4 families to live here. Although the old house is somewhat dilapidated, the gorgeous appearance is still the same, and what impressed me most was that on the right wall of the courtyard, the "Prime Minister's Will" in black on a white background was clearly visible.

Elder Zhang told us that when he first went to school, his grandfather and uncle taught him to study well and be a useful person to the country when he grew up. Seeing the "Premier's Will" and thinking of Elder Zhang's revolutionary experience, I seemed to have found the source for Elder Zhang's strong and indomitable fighting spirit. Subsequently, we accompanied Elder Zhang to visit the former residence of Xiao Bukan in Zhang Chong's hometown. Although Elder Zhang is old, he is full of interest along the way, and on the way back from Zhang Chong's former residence, we accompanied Elder Zhang to visit mrs. Zhang Shiming, who was bedridden, in Mudehei Village.

Speaking of "three Zhangs", this is the pride of the Luxi people, their contemporaries have been born for two or three years, in the same mountain beam, and the villages between each other are only three or five miles. One of them was an early veteran communist member of the Communist Party of China, one was the vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and the other was the deputy commander of the artillery of the 50th Army of the Volunteer Army during the Period of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. They are all good sons and daughters of Luxi, who have made immortal contributions to the Chinese revolution and the establishment of new China...

The original intention will never change, the spirit enlightens future generations - deeply remember the revolutionary predecessor Zhang Zhizhong Comrade "Xu Jinshan"

In order to better write about Zhang Lao's revolutionary deeds, on the one hand, I consulted all the existing interviews and audio recordings of Zhang Lao in the county Party History Office, as well as the written materials of the Party History Office of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee on Zhang Lao's early revolutionary activities. On the other hand, he also took the opportunity of Zhang Lao and his daughter to go to Luxi to interview Zhang Lao's daughter. During the interview, two things mentioned by Zhang's daughter still vividly in my memory, she told me: Once Lu Dingyi entrusted Comrade Xie Xiaoyi, deputy director of the Party History Collection Office of the CPC Central Committee, to visit Zhang Yonghe from Beijing, and he once said to his daughter who was present: "Your father's revolutionary activities and experiences in Shanghai in those years can be written into a thrilling novel. ”

Another time, Zhang Lao's two classmates who moved to the United States and had made achievements came to Kunming to visit him, the old classmates gathered together very happy, happy and harmonious, the two alumni sighed: "Old classmate, you were a high-achieving student in our class, if you develop professionally, you will definitely have more achievements than us..." Zhang Lao smiled and said to them: "Old classmates, in fact, you don't understand, the career I pursued and fought for in the past has now been realized, this is the greatest happiness in my life!" My personal gains and losses are nothing. ”

This is the sentiment of an old Communist Party member, who gave us a mirror, a spirit, a benchmark, which moved me, enlightened me, and baptized my spirit.

In 1992, Zhang Lao died of illness at the age of 90. Although he has forever left the new China for which he once fought, Zhang Lao's revolutionary deeds are immortal, and his heroic name has been permanently recorded in the May Thirtieth Movement monument inscription in Shanghai People's Square and the glorious history of the Chinese Communist Party.

2021 marks the centenary of the Communist Party of China. Standing at the historical crossroads of the "two hundred years" and looking back at the road traveled by our party, it has only been 28 years from the founding of the party to the seizure of national power, which can be said to be a real miracle in the long river of Thousands of years of Chinese history.

In modern China, no political group like the Chinese Communist Party has experienced unprecedented cruel circumstances in just 28 years, and has been tested like a fire in purgatory. From the first day of its founding, the Communist Party of China has taken the realization of communism as its goal of struggle and wholeheartedly serving the people as its only aim. The reason why the Chinese revolution was able to win victory was not only because of correct doctrine, program, and correct line and policy, but also a large number of communists like Zhang Zhizhong who were loyal to doctrine and faithful to faith; in the face of harsh reality and dangerous environment, relying on historical consciousness and responsibility, they were willing to throw away their heads, spill their blood, follow their predecessors, never hesitate, and sacrifice their lives and forget their deaths; they did not serve officials, did not for money, did not seek fame, did not seek profits, only for doctrine, and only pursued and fought for faith all their lives. With the light of the spirit, they illuminated the road to victory, gathered the hearts of the people, and achieved the great cause of building the country.

The original intention will never change, the spirit enlightens future generations - deeply remember the revolutionary predecessor Zhang Zhizhong Comrade "Xu Jinshan"

Today, in the period of peaceful construction, it is also necessary for communists not to forget their original intentions, inherit traditions, and forge ahead. Those of us who are born in a prosperous world must always cherish the hearts of our predecessors and martyrs, and we must always remember the feelings of gratitude to the party, history, and the times. On the occasion of the centennial party celebration, we should cherish and admire, draw nourishment from the party's extraordinary course of a hundred years, strengthen our muscles, strengthen our bones, and build a firm determination, profoundly understand and firmly understand and firmly understand that today's China is closer to the goal of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation than at any time in history, and we are more confident and more capable of achieving this goal than at any time in history.

The rise and fall of the country is the responsibility of the puppeteer. Always follow the party, inherit the tradition, do not forget the original intention, keep in mind the mission, we should internalize the sense of responsibility, externalize in the practice, integrate personal strength into the great cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics, add bricks and tiles to the party's cause, contribute to the prosperity and strength of the motherland, and write a new chapter for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
