Affectionate remembrance of Zhang Zhizhong (Zhang Zhizhong is Zhang Yonghe) old uncle "Zhang Jingwen"

author:A century of pursuit in the depths of Yunling

On the occasion of celebrating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, I once used the title of "Ancestors Sowing Fire Seeds, Revolution Casts cradles" to remember the revered hometown elders Zhang Zhizhong, Zhao Guohui, He Xianlong, and sang the praises of my alma mater, the provincial Luxi Normal School, and publicized Luxi, an old revolutionary area that will be forgotten by people. The article has been adopted and published by the Old Cadre Bureau of the Qujing Municipal Party Committee and the Qujing Border and Vertical Federation of Qujing City, and the "Collected Essays Celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the Founding of the Cpc" edited by the Qujing Municipal Border and Vertical Federation.

In July 1949, when I was suffering from tuberculosis and transferred to a local area, the Luxi County Party Committee may have thought that I had been tested by war in the army, entrusted me with a heavy responsibility, and sent me to Yongning Township as the secretary of the branch. Yongning Township is 50 miles away from the city, it belongs to the mountainous area of ethnic mixed residence, has jurisdiction over more than 120 natural villages, borders with some districts and townships of Mile, and there are often small units of enemy troops stationed in Mile who are stationed in Mile and Kuomintang, and the family of The Great Secret Agent Zeng Guoying lives in Chengzi Village, which is 4 miles away from the Yongning Township Government, and often sneaks back to collect intelligence. Our task force of more than 20 people (actually the armed workers' team) is facing a severe hostile situation at any time, and the gun does not leave its body, and it is scattered to various villages to establish village political power, organize peasant associations, women's associations, and children's groups, develop party organizations, and carry out the elimination of bandits and anti-hegemony. Half of the team members are young students from Kunming, enthusiastic and lack of practice, and Zhang Zhizhong's second son Yuan Wei (15 years old) is also among them. How to lead this young team to complete the task in a difficult environment, I know that the heavy responsibility is on my shoulders, and I can't be paralyzed and slack for a moment, and I insist on working while treating the disease.

At that time, although Yongning had established a township government, there was no means of transportation or telecommunications facilities, and when I went into the city to hold meetings, I rushed to the venue alone, and the old uncles all greeted my arrival with a kind and praised smile. Luxi was liberated on February 5, 1949, and Zhang Laobo was appointed as the director of the Liberation Committee to work in the county town, and at that time there was also a "baggage regime", that is, when there was hostility, office documents could be rolled up at any time and transferred to the countryside. During my tenure as branch secretary, secretary of the district party committee, and member of the county party committee, I sat on an equal footing with Zhang Laobo and other comrades of the county party committee, and the old man and the young discussed things in the same hall, and the old man was always modest, calm, and objective in analysis and research, without the shelf of his predecessors. Although such a day was not long, I now recall that this was a golden age of vitality and sincere unity in the life of the Party that I experienced, and it was a great honor for me, a young and naïve junior, to work with the old revolutionary seniors.

At the beginning of 1950, Zhang Laobo was transferred to the Qujing Special Bureau. In October of the same year, he and I attended the rectification study held by the provincial party committee at the party school of the provincial party committee in Kunming. The old man is in the Qujing branch, I am in the Yiliang branch, the dormitory is close at hand, and we often meet. Gao Jie, director of the Propaganda Department of the Zhanyi County CPC Committee who was in the same section as Lao Bo, was in the same dormitory as me and got along very closely, and Lao Bo once praised her: "This girl is as capable and spicy as you, and when I work with her, I often see her holding a gun in one hand and a telephone in the other, handling complicated and complicated grain collection and banditry affairs, and coping with it with ease." ”

Our Yiliang branch is all underground party personnel, and now serves as the organization director and propaganda director of the county party committees, and according to the arrangements of the school and the wind and rain, we summarize and check the gaps in our work, find out the root causes of the mistakes and improve our understanding.

One day during the study period, the party school notified a meeting to focus on criticizing Zhang Zhizhong's elder uncle, which surprised me very much. It was also at this congress that I began to hear about the extraordinary early revolutionary experience of the old man. But when he said that he had worked in the same party group as Zhou Enlai, and he introduced Lu Dingyi to join the party, someone below shouted: "Don't show merit, you are not allowed to call Enlai comrade!" Lao Bo still did not change his face, and continued to recount that after he returned to Kunming, he was arrested and imprisoned for traitorous betrayal, and only after he learned about the destruction of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee. When it came to Li Guozhu and Wu Cheng being kidnapped to the execution ground, and even the fetus in Wu Cheng's belly was brutally killed at the same time, lao Bo burst into tears and could not cry. At this time, there was another cry in the venue: "Don't fake mercy, honestly explain how you betrayed them, they sacrificed, only you live..." The old man wiped away his tears, and then said, "There is a pot of flowers on the windowsill of my house that I recognize as a contact code, if there is hostility, the family will carry the flower pot away, when I went home that day, the flower pot was still there, just entered the door by the agent who had already been ambushed and imprisoned, I did not know the situation of the other provincial party committee members." After 3 years in prison and repeated interrogations, I did not betray any comrades, and then I was rescued by my fellow villager Zhang Chong in many ways, and I was released from prison on bail for 300 yuan and lost contact with the party. I am not a traitor, and I firmly believe that one day I will find out. ”

I was greatly shocked by such a sudden "criticism" of Zhang Laobo. This was the first time I smelled the gunpowder of the struggle within the Party and the first time I witnessed the ruthless struggle within the Party. After the meeting, according to Gao Jie, "Perhaps at the will of the provincial party committee, their branch has repeatedly asked Zhang Lao to confess the two issues of traitors and Trotskyists at branch meetings. The old man has always insisted on fighting and has not yielded. Every time I passed in front of the old man's door, I would see him writing materials on his back, he once asked me to go to the small shop on The Loess Slope twice to buy yellow smoke for him (smoking the hookah that Luxi people like), and watching him lose his freedom and write a lonely, helpless, and old face, my heart surged with infinite emotion and sadness.

After the party school study, I heard that in the spring of 1950, a congress of all ethnic groups and all walks of life in Yunnan Province was held, and Lao Bo led a delegation of Qujing to attend. The General Assembly requested the leaders of delegations to submit a personal curriculum vitae for the Bureau. In reviewing his resume, a leader of the Provincial Discipline Inspection Commission found that Zhang Zhizhong was Zhang Yonghe, a member of the provincial party committee who was arrested and imprisoned before his arrest in 1930, and he suspected that Zhang Yonghe was a "traitor" for many years, so he asked the party school of the provincial party committee to focus on the review. Under the control of the erroneous line of the "Left", no defense of Lao Bo Zhang was allowed, and it was determined as an iron case, expelled from the party, demoted and sent to the school department for a long review.

In the autumn of 1980, my father and I went to the Party School of the Provincial Party Committee to apply for a review of my father's unjust case (Zhang Shen, former head of the 13th Regiment of the Qianbian Column in Yunnan Guizhou), and our father and daughter took the time to visit Zhang Laobo at Honghua Bridge. We are all excited about the joy of the reunion for the rest of our lives, the long goodbye, speak freely, tell the family, complain about suffering, and thank the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee for letting us out of the dark night and seeing the sunshine again. The old man was in adversity for many years, and in 1953 his wife died of illness through overwork, and a person shouldered the burden of being a father and a mother; Yuan Li, the eldest son who participated in the revolution with him in his early years, died in 1960 with injustice; when Zhiqing's youngest daughter Yuan Ling was far away in the frontier. Zhang Laobo said with a heavy heart that he carried the black cauldron of "traitors" during the "Cultural Revolution" and was assigned to the remote mountainous areas of Simao for special examination and labor, and the rebels stipulated that they should cut and pay 100 kilograms of firewood every day, and often worked overtime in the dark of night to complete the targets, and it was also common to be pierced by his hands, siblings, clothes and pants.

Zhang Laobo also specifically mentioned that in the later period of the "Cultural Revolution," in order to resolve the unjust case of Lu Ding and other central leaders, Premier Zhou instructed the Yunnan Provincial Cpc Committee to find out the whereabouts of Zhang Yonghe as soon as possible, and it took several twists and turns to take Zhang Zhizhong, who had changed his name, back to Kunming and liberate him. Speaking of this, the old man stood in front of the portrait of Premier Zhou and cried tears, repeating: "It was Grace that saved me, it was Grace who came to save me!"

In August 1983, the Luxi County Party Committee held the first party history collection meeting, which was attended by Zhang Laobo and I both attended. Premier Zhou's secretaries, Li Chen and Chen Hao, were also invited from Beijing to attend. In his speech, Li Chen mentioned that before the liberation, he took luxi normal school as his position and the legal status of the director of training as a cover to establish the Luxi special branch of the CPC and the Luxi normal party branch, and recruited party members, all of which were supported and guided by Elder Zhang, and were meticulously cared for by Elder Zhang and his family in his life. Zhang Laojia killed chickens for the festival, and we were all regular customers. During the meeting, Li Chen and his wife sat around the old uncle and helped him in and out of the venue, reflecting the revolutionary friendship they had formed in those years.

It has been 20 years since the old man left us, and he recalls the unforgettable years when he was with him, his voice and smile are still vividly remembered, he has gone through ups and downs in his life, he has always adhered to the standards of communist party members in the face of adversity, he has been loyal to the party and the country unswervingly, he has never considered personal gains and losses, he has put the interests of the party and the people first, he has worked diligently, he has been honest and honest, he is worthy of the glorious title of the old revolutionary party member in the early days, he is a model that we will always respect, we miss him fondly, and his brilliant deeds will forever be recorded in the annals of history!
