Principal Zhang Zhizhong, who is deeply nostalgic for my teaching and promotion of "Fang Xin" and "Note"

(1) The political background of my acquaintance with President Zhang Zhizhong (Zhang Zhizhong is Zhang Yonghe in the text).

In 1945, I was introduced by Mr. Wen Yiduo and Mr. Feng Sutao to join the China Democratic League (Professors Wen Yiduo and Feng Sutao were members of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League, the former was also the propaganda director of the provincial party committee, and the latter was also the director of the organization department of the provincial party committee). During this time, Mr. Wen, on behalf of the NLD, and the CCP created the "Minqing", and the two parties jointly developed many progressive young students to join the "Minqing" and handed them over to the direct leadership of the CPC. So Mr. Wen asked me to go to the division to get acquainted with Ma Li and Yu Mingzhe, and he was introduced to join the "Minqing" (Ma Li worked at the Chengdu Air Force Headquarters after liberation), and after I joined the above-mentioned revolutionary organization, it was like a small fish entering the sea, broadening the horizon and scope of political activities. At that time, my hometown lived in Mr. Wen's apartment on the west side of the slope, just a stone's throw away. Sometimes Mr. Wen Lihe, his eldest son (that is, the person who was shot when he threw himself on his father when the secret agent assassinated Mr. Wen), lihe was the same age as me, and Mr. Wen summoned me as a junior member of the family to contact Mr. Wen. From the Qianju Street Radiation Institute and the "Minqing" of the Divisional Academy, as well as the reading party organized by Lü Genshu (a member of the Communist Party of China, also known as Lü Huamin who later served as the political commissar of the 12th Regiment of the Second Bianzhong Detachment) and me in my home, and the reading party organized by Li Peilun (a member of the Communist Party of China and a Chenggong person) in his dormitory at the Yaolong Electric Light Company; to deliver messages to Mr. Feng Sutao's family in Beicangpo; to participate in the poetry reading party of the Unun University through Mr. Wen's introduction, and to send reading with Mr. Wen to the Chinese Department of the UN General; and also acting as a liaison between Mr. Wen and General Long Shengwu, the eldest son of Long Yun, who joined the Democratic League. During this period, the CPC and the NLD each decided to open up democratic and cultural fronts in Burma and open up the sea lanes between Hong Kong and Yangon, so as to have more direct contact with the party Central Committees of the two countries. The NLD side has been actively carrying out preparatory work, starting with the selection of reliable young comrades with independent working ability to lead their families, and I have also been selected to be on standby. The leaders considered that my activities might have been exposed, so they made very thoughtful arrangements, and the Democratic League notified the Kunming police through the relationship between Long Yun and the internal line of the Kunming police, canceled my hukou from my hometown, completely deleted me, and since then Dong Kang has changed my name to Fang Xin, becoming another orphan with no household registration and no student status. Before the "One-Two-One" Movement in Kunming, while I was waiting for the organization to arrange evacuation to hide somewhere, President Zhang Zhizhong appeared in Kunming (hereinafter referred to as the Principal).

(2) Principal recruitment through the internal line to Kunming (for the provincial Luxi Normal School to hire teachers)

After the principal arrived in Kunming, through Nu Sheng (Zhang Zizhai - member of the Burma Special Branch of the Communist Party of China, director of the Political Department of the Border Column, and secretary general of the provincial government after liberation), he asked the division, Mr. Wen, and the Democratic League for intellectuals and recruited from the inside, and the purpose of his coming to Kunming was clear. According to the principal's later remarks, "concealment and competence, long-term lurking" is the policy of the underground party, and it is indispensable to recruit comrades who need to be concealed organizationally (including the NLD) into the Luxi Normal School and build a party's democratic fortress. These teachers of the NLD or the undisclosed party members could specialize in teaching work on the table, and the secret work under the table was exclusively responsible for Zhao Guohui, including the later appointment of the principals of the NLD. Party members also included Liu Baoxuan's younger brother Liu Baoyun (who served as the governor of Honghe County after Liu Liberation) and Liao Disheng (who was sent to Hong Kong by the Guangzhou Military Region after the liberation as chairman of the Great Wall Film Company). All of the above is what the principal and I learned in conversation.

In the political context mentioned above, Kunming organizationally handed me over to the old principal. The principal organized a large truck driven by his own people to transport the professor and poet Luo Tieying and me from Kunming to Luxi. As the principal sat in the passenger seat in his senior year, and I was the youngest sitting on the open luggage pile, unfortunately our big truck was stuck in the big mud rut made of bullwheels and could not extricate itself, and the car was geared up and roared to exhaust the gasoline expected to be enough, until the engine stopped, and the car still could not get up! In the midst of the hardship, I was confronted by a large Truck of american Troops, and the principal ordered me to negotiate and ask the Americans to support some gasoline. I explained the reason to the American soldiers in English, emphasizing that our car was the old principal taking the new teacher to the school, the school was about to start, and we had to hurry, and asked them to help tow the car to the flat road and give some gasoline. The American soldiers were very friendly, dragged our car to the flat road, and brought a small bucket of oil to send, I wanted to return the barrel, they said that they sent the bucket together, they also gave a military salute to the principal when they were separated, and warmly shook hands with me and said that it was rare to meet English speakers in the mountains, and then smiled and waved goodbye to each other. The old headmaster was very happy, patted me on the back and said, "I can't see that your colloquial pronunciation is very good and fluent, well done, well done!" "For a while after boarding the bus and arriving at the school, the principal and I chatted about many topics. He asked me what sports activities I liked, and I said that I had been good at swimming, basketball, and volleyball since I was a child, and I repeated the training of wei Pidong (professor of physical education at Yunda University) and John Ma (professor of physical education at the United Nations University) who had taught me before, and then talked about the liberal arts topics of literature, history, and philosophy, literary masterpieces, and the situation of the patriotic anti-Chiang Kai-shek student movement in Kunming. Why do you say "hit the jackpot"? Because after entering the school, the principal made some "amazing" arrangements for me: (1) I was appointed as the class teacher and Chinese teacher of the highest class, the sixth class of the division. (2) I was appointed as the English teacher of the junior high school graduation class, including the principal's daughter Zhang Yuanyu, the first 13th class. (3) The letter of appointment is stamped with a square big red school seal and the principal's seal, and I am hired as a full-time teacher of liberal arts in the school. (4) He also hired me as a physical education teacher. When I took 4 appointments, I almost fainted and couldn't help but shout "My mom! I immediately went to see the principal with a letter of appointment and said, "Principal, I am a fledgling and smelly boy, the first time I work in school, how can I serve as a teacher of so many subjects!" Moreover, I don't have enough academic qualifications. I thought that after arriving at the school, I would be a staff member to hide under a pseudonym and go to Myanmar on standby, which was the organization that had handed over to you! At that time, Professor Luo Tieying was beside him (he was scheduled to replace the director of the Three Youth League), and the principal pretended to be very serious, pulling his face and saying: "Yes, it is the organization that has turned in the bottom, your teacher in Kunming, and now your teacher Luo (Teacher Luo is also your teacher) beside you, all said that you are good at studying and studying, and you are a prominent top student, with a wider range of knowledge than young people of the same age, excellent in character and learning, so let me hone and cultivate this good material!" Based on these evaluations, coupled with the recent chat about your subject knowledge and your conversation with Americans, and your spiritual outlook, I thought you were a talent that could be created in the future, which is the first; second, I am not only based on academic qualifications to recognize people and do things, I am judged by talent, character, and ideological level, you underestimated my judgment ability, that is, underestimated me, thinking that I was messing around? I quickly pleaded, "Don't you dare!" Can't! I am indeed a primary school student in front of your old predecessors, and I am only saying that these appointments are not up to standard, I am afraid that they will be incompetent, so I am sincerely afraid. At this point, he put away his pulled face and joked gently: "You boy still want to bargain?" Since you said that you would like to be my elementary school student, then obey and sharpen yourself to become a qualified teacher! Not enough, you must promise, you are a soldier under me, and what I have handed you is a few positions! The stronghold of the fortress of democracy! Every day, the Kuomintang county party department and the Three Youth Leagues try to covet various posts and want to enter, and if they preemptively drill in by virtue of the power in the county, we will be passive, and it is very important for us to take the initiative to occupy posts and positions! You have to hold, and now it is up to you to decide, whether to hold your position or to be a deserter? "I'm out of luck! He snatched the letter of appointment from the principal's hand and said firmly, "I will fight to the death to hold my position!" The headmaster said, "Well, I didn't look at the wrong person!" I left the principal's room convincingly. (Later, the school's response to the Kunming "12.1" movement and other strikes and other deeds were recorded in the school history and the county history office, and are omitted here.)

(3) Kang Sheng framed the old principal as an "old traitor" in Yunnan, and in 1985 the Cpc Central Committee rehabilitated the old principal

According to the remarks of Comrade Zhao Guohui (vice president of the Nationalities College and former director of teaching of Luxi Normal School) and the principal before his death, the rehabilitation of the old principal is briefly narrated from memory to praise the noble qualities in the principal's bumpy experience. The president was the president of the Shanghai Jiaotong University Student Union and a party member who joined the party in the 1920s, and was ordered to return to the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee at the end of 1928. In 1930, due to the defection of Peng Zuhu, Chen Jiaqian and others, the list of members of the provincial party committee was revealed, so the old principal was also arrested and put on death row to prepare for shooting! The headmaster will not surrender when he dies, and he will be ready for righteousness. At this time, General Zhang Chong went to see Long Yun and said that Yunnan had produced such a talented man with excellent character and learning, and asked Long Yun to approve the acquittal, but Long Yun had not agreed to the pressure of Chiang Kai-shek. Later, After Zhang Chong's guarantee was released, he remained under his subordinates to monitor and use it, and in 1932, Long Cai agreed to Zhang Chong's guarantee release. After liberation, Zhang Chong has always had a deep relationship with the CPC Central Committee, but he could not imagine that after the old principal escaped from the clutches of the Kuomintang, another tiger mouth of his own people was still waiting for him, which was Kang Sheng. As a vice governor, Zhang Chong, the famous general who contributed to the uprising of the Sixty Army of the Dian Army in the Battle of Taierzhuang and the Liberation War, could not remove the black net covered by Kang Sheng on the principal. It was not until after the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee that the Central Organization Department rehabilitated the principal. But the most valuable thing is that the decades-long black cauldron did not bend the old principal's backbone. He took education as a position in a corner of Luxi, worked hard bit by bit, fought for the underground party and the democratic alliance in southern Yunnan until liberation, never depressed, and set strict demands on himself by the standards of party members. His heart is earnest, his words and deeds are brilliant and frank, explaining why he, an iron-boned old man who joined the party in the 20s, is famous in history.

I am 82 years old this year, a student of Zhang Zhizhong, Wen Yiduo, and Zhang Zizhai, and on the eve of Teachers' Day in 2011, I prayed and gave feedback to your spirit in heaven: I have not failed to live up to your teachings, followed your footsteps, guarded the positions you handed over, and fulfilled my responsibility to the people of the motherland. The dual membership of the Party and the League, which has been maintained for more than sixty years, is the most powerful proof. Rest in peace, my beloved teacher, Principal Zhang Zhizhong and Teachers Wen Yiduo and Zhang Zizhai.
