Shao Xunmei was originally the son of Shao Youlian's second son Shao Heng, because Shao Youlian's eldest son Shao Yi died early and had no queen, so Shao Xunmei was born to inherit Shao Yi and became the eldest son and eldest grandson of the Shao family, gathering thousands of favors in one.
Shao Xunmei's biological mother was Sheng Xihui, the fourth daughter of Sheng Xuanhuai, a famous representative of the Western affairs faction in the late Qing Dynasty, and Sheng Xuanhuai liked this clever and studious little grandson. Every time Xiao Xunmei went to Sheng Mansion, Sheng Xuanhuai had to personally examine his knowledge.
One day when he was seven years old, Sheng Xuanhuai learned that he had begun to read and write sentences in the academy, so on a whim, he came out with a shanglian to test him, but he did not expect that he casually answered the lower link. This made Sheng Xuanhuai very happy, and everyone praised his grandson for being smart and spiritual.
This joint pair not only made the foreigners open their hearts and let everyone look at him with admiration, but also made sheng Peiyu, a little cousin who was only eight years old at the time, have a different kind of admiration for him.
Sheng Peiyu, the fifth daughter of Sheng Xuanhuai's eldest son, was born in november of the lunar calendar, which is the season when camellias bloom, so the nickname is "tea".
The two families of Shao Sheng are in-laws, and they often get together during the New Year's Festival, and the children often play together, which is no different. But at the funeral of Sheng Xuanhuai's death in 1916, Shao Xunmei inadvertently glimpsed her tea cousin, dressed in plain clothes, miserable and lonely, really like a tea flower that had been left behind, and suddenly felt an inexplicable heartbeat. Perhaps it was this casual glance that the thin figure of Xiao Ser was deeply rooted in his heart and could no longer be erased.
One day, when Shao Xunmei was reading the Book of Poetry, she saw "Zheng Feng. "Pei Yu Zhen" in "There is a lesbian car", suddenly thought of the thin and quiet tea sister. Look at the next sentence "Xunmei and both", that is, "really beautiful and beautiful", can't help but shoot the case, this is Providence, "Xunmei" to "Peiyu", the perfect match! So he decided to change his original name "Yunlong" to "Xunmei" and told this idea to Sister Cha, and Sheng Peiyu, who was familiar with the Book of Poetry and was as clever as Xu, naturally understood the meaning and smiled and praised.
When Sheng Xunmei was 17 years old, with the support of Mrs. Chai and his mother, Mrs. Shi, he decided to study in Britain. Before going abroad, he could no longer hide his inner feelings and begged his birth mother to go and say goodbye.

After the engagement, Sheng Peiyu personally knitted a white wool vest for Shao Xunmei, and Shao Xunmei made a "White Velvet Thread Vest" to give back to Peiyu. Later, this poem was published in the "Declaration" and became the first poem published by Shao Xunmei.

The love in the poem is endless, and the vows are made, and the infatuation and longing for love of the teenager are vividly expressed. After that, he traveled far and wide to study in England.
No matter how far he went, the figure of Sister Cha always flashed in front of his eyes, the mountains and rivers were far away, and he missed it endlessly. Therefore, everywhere he went, he bought a postcard of the local scenery and monuments, wrote his love words with the flowing calligraphy in his hand, and sent them to Sheng Peiyu together. And he gave Peiyu the English name "Edith", who was "Hart". So affectionate, Peiyu rejoiced, and carefully collected this postcard full of love like a treasure.

The romance of the poet is something we cannot imagine. Once Sheng Peiyu received an e-mail from him, inside was a very small box, and when the box was opened, it was a walnut shell that had been neatly cut in half and tied with pink silk thread. After breaking it open, a long series of folded photos connected only the width of the fingertips fell inside, taking pictures of Indonesia's customs and customs. More than nine hundred days and nights of acacia have finally been exchanged for the twilight of the twilight. Shao Xunmei's old grandmother, Mrs. Chai, wanted to be able to hold her grandson in her lifetime and urged him to return to China to get married, so he hurriedly bid farewell to his teachers and friends and boarded the cruise ship back to China.
Shao and Sheng were both famous families, and their reunion sensationalized Shanghai Beach, and the cover of the Shanghai Pictorial at that time published photos of their newlyweds and published a report entitled "The Marriage of Meiyu Yuan".
On January 15, 1927, they held a wedding that combined Chinese and Western styles, new style and tradition. First of all, a Western-style wedding was held at the Kalden Hotel, and Shao Xunmei, who was dressed in leather and leather, and Sheng Peiyu, who was dressed in a pink wedding dress, slowly walked into the auditorium with the accompaniment of the wedding march. After returning from the hotel and arriving at home, they changed into robes and horse coats, phoenix crowns and draperies, and began a lively and festive Chinese wedding ceremony. Since then, this pair of cousins of qingmei bamboo horses has finally come together.
After his marriage, he published his first collection of poems, Heaven and May, and wrote the words "To Peiyu" on the title page of the collection, which was his most precious gift to the bride. One of the poems in the collection, "Come On," reads, "Oh you my eternal love... It's like the clouds and waves temporarily dwelling in the Heavenly Sea. Come on, come on, come on, the rain is coming at me like tears. This is undoubtedly his call for love.
Although the newly married Shao Xunmei still calls friends, he is not willing to leave his wife at home, so he often takes Peiyu to the Xinya tea room where he gathers with his friends. The young couple always ate morning tea and lunch here and then went home. The dishes here, especially the hot quail and bamboo chicken, make PeiYu food unforgettable, and perhaps what makes her unforgettable is the years of interdependence.
In 1932, Shao Xunmei went north because of the Crescent Moon Bookstore and also took Sheng Peiyu with him. They first settled in Nanjing, then to Tianjin, and finally to Beijing, along the way Shao Xunmei took Peiyu to visit many former friends and acquaintances. Finally, in Beijing, they toured the Forbidden City together and bought a large number of souvenirs brought to their families, and only then did they happily end this trip to Beiping.

She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, taught at Hunter Women's College in New York, enjoyed writing, published several articles in American newspapers and magazines, and came to China because she was attracted by the mystery of the ancient civilizations of the East.
When they first met, Hahn was impressed by Shao Xunmei's Greek beauty, and with his talent and fluent English, Hahn was even more impressed. So without any suspense, they came together, and he gave her a Chinese name "Xiang Mei".
There is no impermeable wall in the world, it doesn't take long for Sheng Peiyu to know, she is naturally angry in her heart, but she is a smart woman, she feels with a woman's keen sixth sense, they will not last long, let alone a lifetime, Xiang Mei will leave Shao Xunmei sooner or later.
So she tolerated this third party from an exotic land, and at sheng Peiyu's suggestion, Shao Xunmei and Xiang Mei went through the marriage formalities.
Xiang Meili often goes in and out of the Shao family, and she and the whole Shao family have become friends, and everyone affectionately calls her "Miji". Sheng Peiyu and Xiang Meili also often went in and out together, loved the same sisters, and sent a jade bracelet to Xiang Mei, and everyone got along very well.

Xiang Meili is engaged in writing, so Shao Xunmei often takes her to various gatherings, and her lively humor and strong curiosity make everyone very fond of her.
At a party, Wang Yonglu of Shanghai Times Book Company improvised a northern Jiangsu folk song "Meng Jiang Nu" in dialect, and Xiang Meimei was moved by it and was determined to learn. Shao Xunmei immediately translated it for her, and Wang Yonglu also patiently taught it, and within a few days, Xiang Meimei really sang a northern Jiangsu folk song. Her cuteness and persistence made Shao Xunmei like it even more.
In that turbulent era, Xiang's beautiful American identity was still a very useful umbrella for the Shao family. After the "August 13 Incident", Shao Xunmei's family hastily escaped, took refuge in the concession, and temporarily lived in Xiafei Road. Because they fled, most of the things were left in place, except for some valuable things that were taken out with them. Xiang Meili contacted the British consulate, hired a truck and a dozen White Russian workers, and loaded the furniture and books in Shao Xunmei's home several times, including the huge photocopier printing press of Shao Xunmei's era printing plant, which was escorted by the British patrol and snatched out from under the iron hooves of the Japanese army.

In order to promote it to the international community, an English edition of The Fair Review was also published, as a sister issue of Liberty Tan, with Xiang Meimei as the editor-in-chief and publisher.

In 1938, yang Gang, an underground party member, came to Xiang Meimei's house in order to translate Mao Zedong's "On Protracted War", and they were very good friends. Xiang Meili hid Yang Gang in her home to translate, and occasionally helped to consider translating text. The heavy responsibility of secret printing fell on Shao Xunmei's head. After printing, Yang Gang, Xiang Meili, Shao Xunmei and others risked their lives to distribute the translation separately.
In 1939, Xiang Meimei went to Chongqing in order to write the book "The Three Sisters of the Song Family", and Shao Xunmei could not walk with him for family and other reasons, and since then the exotic couple who have been in love for about four years has broken up.
The love between Shao Xunmei and Xiang Mei certainly has its pursuit of romance, but its common interest and passion for revolution are also important factors. For the sake of writing, they supported each other; for the sake of resisting Japan, they were in the same boat.
But everything came to an end after Xiang Meili went to Chongqing, and they each returned to their original point. After that, they were thousands of miles apart, and only letters kept coming and going.
In 1946, when Shao Xunmei went to the United States to investigate the film industry, he had a brief encounter with Xiang Meimei again, but by then their feelings had calmed down, and Xiang Meimei also had a family and daughter again, and everything was as plain as the reunion of old friends.

However, Sheng Peiyu did not expect that it was not long before she actually developed feelings with Shao Xunmei and lived together and became pregnant.
This time, Sheng Peiyu could no longer tolerate it. At that time, Xiang Meimei, she was a foreigner, she would not live in China for a long time, and she could also help Shao Xunmei in her career, and Sheng Peiyu put up with it. And this time, Shao Xunmei actually sneaked in with the maid, and it was too embarrassing to pass it out.
Enraged, Sheng Peiyu returned to her mother's house and left the family to the two of them. Chen Yinmei gave birth to three boys and a daughter for Shao Xunmei, and Sheng Peiyu accepted this fact, but also separated from Shao Xunmei from then on and lived with her own children.
In 1958, Shao Xunmei wanted Xiang Meimei to return the original loan of 1,000 US dollars due to financial constraints, so he wrote a letter to Xiang Meimei, but he did not expect that because of this letter, he was arrested and imprisoned as a "dite suspect".
After Shao Xunmei was imprisoned, Chen Yinmei had to return to the countryside of Jiangsu to live with her parents, and it was not until Shao Xunmei was released from prison three years later that she was reunited.
After being released from prison, Shao Xunmei was poor and sick, and everything in the original was gone, and he and Chen Yinmei could only rely on a little translation fee to survive. Although Sheng Peiyu still could not forgive him, she still sent 30 yuan a month in living expenses, so that Shao Xunmei could get by.

Never believing in a Buddha, he suddenly wanted to translate a fragment of the Mahabharata: "The Buddha is all wishes, the Buddha is the great wisdom, forgetting things and forgetting feelings, seeing a pure body, because he knows that he is in heaven, he who has gone will not return." "Maybe it's the enlightenment of the dying man, maybe it's nostalgia for the world, but it's too late.
One evening a few days later, Shao Xunmei quietly passed away, leaving without a person around. When Chen Yinmei returned from outside, he was completely out of breath. Because of the embarrassment of life, he did not even have a new coat when he left, and the funeral rites were very simple.
For various reasons, Sheng Peiyu and several children could not be present, and Shao Xunmei left forever in the loneliness and cold...
If there is an afterlife, I don't know if Sheng Peiyu will still fall in love with him. Xi Murong once said: "Beautiful dreams, like beautiful poems, are encounterable and unattainable", perhaps Shao Xunmei is Sheng Peiyu's "beautiful dreams and beautiful poems", but he is too ethereal, beautiful in the first half of life, but in the second half of life.
