Seeing that the enemy was about to flee, Huang Gongluo ordered the generals of the Red 3rd Army to pursue. At this time, the 52nd Brigade was ambushed by multiple Red Army forces in Longgang, and not only was the defensive line washed out to pieces, but even the surrounding area was full of red flags.

In order to regain the war situation, Zhang Huizhan also sent out the 53rd Brigade, hoping to seize the commanding heights of Wangong Mountain.
