author:Beijing News

According to CCTV news, in the early morning of February 12, 1942, Zhao Shangzhi, a hero of the Northeast Anti-Japanese League who had vowed to "die on the battlefield," was seriously wounded and captured in a battle in Heli County, Heilongjiang, because of the betrayal of traitor Liu Deshan. Due to his serious injuries, Zhao Shangzhi died heroically after being captured for 8 hours at the age of 34. In the early hours of his last morning, he still fought until the last moment in the white mountains and black waters.

△ The place where the martyr Zhao Shangzhi was killed is located 11 kilometers northwest of the Shangzhi Forest Farm of the Hebei Forestry Bureau in Luobei County, Hegang City.

Historian Zhao Junqing: The bullet went under Zhao Shangzhi's lower waist and came out of his front crotch, and at that time, the blood was not stopping. At that time, Zhao Shangzhi was very calm, and when he saw Liu Deshan shoot at Wang Yongxiao, Zhao Shangzhi returned a shot and gave Liu Deshan two bullets, one hitting his chest and one hitting his head, killing Liu Deshan at that time.

Zhao Shangzhi joined the Communist Party of China in 1925 and was one of the earliest Communist Party members in northeast China. After the 1931 "918" Incident, Zhao Shangzhi was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Manchurian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, secretary of the Central Military Commission, and subsequently became the founder and leader of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army. In the northeast anti-Japanese battlefield, there is a saying of "Southern Yang and Northern Zhao", "Southern Yang" refers to Yang Jingyu, and "Northern Zhao" refers to Zhao Shangzhi, who together lead a heroic team - the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army, which makes the Japanese army deeply afraid.

Liu Jialiang, director of the Northeast Anti-Japanese League Museum: After 1939, the Japanese puppet army once offered a reward of 10,000 yuan to arrest Zhao Shangzhi, and the three words of Zhao Shangzhi once made the Japanese Kwantung Army feel frightened, and there was a sentence at that time, "Small Manchukuo, big Zhao Shangzhi."

The Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army was the first anti-Japanese armed force in China to fight against Japan, lasted the longest and had the most difficult conditions, and Zhao Shangzhi and his troops resisted unimaginable cold and hunger, and fought tenaciously against the powerful Japanese army dozens of times larger than themselves.

Wang Dong, deputy director of the Northeast Martyrs Memorial Hall: The climate in the northeast is very cold, winter is 5 months, if these 5 months are in the deep mountains and old forests, it is needless to say that there is no need to fight, survival will challenge the limit of a person's life. In winter, if it is at minus 40 degrees, or even 20 degrees, outdoors, freezing to death, starvation, all the time.

The Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition led by Zhao Shangzhi fought bravely and well, and dealt a fierce blow to the arrogance of the invaders, but this world-famous anti-Japanese hero was wrongly "expelled from the party" twice before his death. After being treated unfairly, Zhao Shangzhi still had no remorse and did not change his original intentions, and he wrote in his request to the party organization: Party membership is the life of every Communist Party member, and I cannot leave the party every day, nor can the party give up its leadership over me every day.

After that, Zhao Shangzhi continued to fight firmly and actively against the Japanese invaders until he was wounded and captured in 1942. During the interrogation, Zhao Shangzhining died unyieldingly.

Historian Zhao Junqing: At that time, the enemy also gave him food, and he said: I will not eat your Manchukuo meal. In addition, there were some pseudo-policemen around, and he said: Stay away from me, I smell you fishy. Then Zhao Shangzhi stared at them and didn't say a word.

Zhao Shangzhi rarely took pictures in his life, and a generation of famous generals galloping between the white mountains and black waters left people with only a vague figure. After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, in order to commend Zhao Shangzhi's anti-Japanese exploits and forever remember this anti-Japanese hero, the First Workers' and Peasants' Congress of Zhuhe County, Heilongjiang Province, passed a resolution to rename Zhuhe County to Shangzhi County and rename his sacrificial site to Shangzhi Village. In 1950, a main street in Harbin was named Shangzhi Street, in this way, so that the image of the hero will always remain in the hearts of the world.
