The Shanghai Library now has 250,000 stele rubbings, of which about 3,000 can be called rare books, and the collection of varieties almost includes the entire history of Chinese inscriptions, the quantity is abundant, the quality is high, it can be called "stele museum". Tang Stele Tuoba Ben is the preferred variety of collectors of inscriptions in previous generations, and the main criterion for judging the quality of the stele collection of a public collection institution is the quality of Tang Stele Tuoba.

Zhongwei, curator of the exhibition, researcher of the Shanghai Library and expert on the study of inscriptions, introduced that the earliest surviving Tuoben in addition to the Tang Dynasty Takuben of several Tang tablets found in the Dunhuang Tibetan Scripture Cave is the earliest of the Song Dynasty. The rise of epigraphy in the Song Dynasty, chuantuo stele began to be popular, but after war and natural damage, the song Tuoben gradually withered away, and by the middle and late Ming Dynasty, the remaining Song Tuo treasures began to enter the sequence of cultural relics collections.

The cultural relics value of the stele is usually considered from the perspective of "scarcity of copies" and "extension age", and the Tang Stele Song Tuo of the annual exhibition in the above picture can be described as the "top match" in the industry. In addition to the Song Tuoben, there are also some Mingtuo and Early Qing Tuo, which are the earliest or earlier versions of the Tang stele varieties.

Ouyang Xiu once said: "The prosperity of books is that of Tang Sheng." "The art of calligraphy in the Tang Dynasty was particularly prosperous, with all kinds of calligraphy shining brightly and famous artists, leaving thousands of Tang dynasty classics for the Chinese nation, with elegant and fresh words and elegant calligraphy." The most famous of the beginners in calligraphy, "Jiucheng Gong Liquan Ming", is a classic model of European copying, and this exhibition will introduce the Wuhu Fan Si Ou Tang Ben, Gong Xinzhao Collection, Fei Nian Ci Tibetan Ben and Zhang Tingji Bao Ben at one time, allowing viewers to feel the changes in the same stele between different Takumoto. In addition to Ouyang Qing, Yan Zhenqing, Liu Gongquan and other well-known calligraphy masters, in the Tang tablets on display, you can also enjoy the brushwork of The Great Masters of the Early Tang Dynasty, Yu Shinan and Chu Suiliang, the calligraphy temperament of Li Shimin and Wu Zetian, and the dashing inkblots of Li Yong, the great-grandson of Li Yuan, the ancestor of Tang Gaozu.

Among the exhibits, the "Four Ou Bao Di" can be called the "Treasure of the Town Hall" of the Shanghai Library, which is the old collection of collector Wu Hufan, and specifically refers to the Song Dynasty stone carvings written by the Tang Dynasty calligrapher Ouyang Qian, namely "Huadu Temple Yong Zen Master Stupa Ming", "Jiucheng Palace Liquan Ming", "Yu Gong Gong Wen Yan Bo Monument", "Emperor Fu Birthday Monument". From the binding of the "Four Opel Flutes", the piety of Wu Hufan's golden stone collection can be seen everywhere, and the book box inscribed by his hand is equipped with four book boxes, panels, inscriptions, inscriptions, inscriptions, seals, etc.

For another example, the "Jiucheng Palace Liquan Ming" purchased by the collector Gong Xinzhao at a "sky-high price" at the end of the Qing Dynasty is a Song Tuo Song costume, a national first-class cultural relic. It can be found from Gong Xinzhao's IOU for the purchase of the framing album that around 1935, Gong Xinzhao spent 6,000 oceans to purchase a copy of the "Northern Song Dynasty" "Jiucheng Palace Liquan Ming" in the form of two payments in succession. At that time, the Northern Song Dynasty Tuoben was extremely rare, so he deliberately took photos to commemorate it, invited the calligrapher Zheng Xiaoxu to examine and sign it, attached his own proofreading, and clipped into the precious Jin Dynasty silkworm cocoon paper, which was cherished.

"Jizi" is a calligraphy work that collects and integrates the handwriting of a certain calligrapher of the previous generation, and this is the case with the jizi calligraphy that modern people usually practice. The inkblots of the "two kings" Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi have been cherished in their time. Through the ages, Tang Taizong Li Shimin searched with the power of the emperor and obtained thousands of pieces of paper in letters, lines, and cursives. By the Song Dynasty, Wang Xizhi's authentic handwriting had been rare, and the Song people regarded tang dynasty facsimiles as precious as authentic handwritings. The engraving of the "Book of JiWang Xi's Book of the Three Tibetan Sacred Teachings" on display in the exhibition is of extraordinary significance, not only is it the first collection of characters in the history of inscription in China, but also opens a precedent for engraving, which is 300 years earlier than the engraving of "Thezu" Song carving "Chunhua Ge Ti". Once this stele rubbing has been circulated, ordinary people can also see Wang Xizhi's calligraphy style, effectively popularizing Wang Xizhi's calligraphy art, and laying the foundation for Wang Xizhi's status as a book saint with his works. The Shanghai Library's collection of the "Book of The Three Sacred Teachings of Wang Xi" (Zhang Yingzhao Collection) is an expanded version of the late Northern Song Dynasty and a national first-class cultural relic.

More than 100 years of prosperous Tang Dynasty weather has left a strong mark on history, and the Tang Monument is a rich cultural heritage left by the ancestors. The earliest exhibits in this exhibition are Yu Shinan's "Confucius Temple Monument" carved on December 29, 626, the ninth year of Wude (626), and the latest is Pei Xiu's "Guifeng Dinghui Zen Master Monument" carved in October of the ninth year of Da Zhong (855), covering the key stages of the development of Tang Dynasty calligraphy, from which the evolution process of mainstream calligraphy in the Tang Dynasty can be clearly seen.

The binding inscription is also a major attraction, which has been passed on by generations of famous artists, framed by famous craftsmen, and expanded by famous inscriptions, which is not only a concentrated display of the beauty of calligraphy, but also contains a broad and profound culture of inscription collection and binding art.

The exhibition lasts for two weeks and closes at 15:00 on November 14 and closes at 16:00. Visitors are required to show the green application code and wear a mask throughout the tour, and in order to ensure the order of the exhibition hall, the flow restriction measures will be taken when the number of people in the venue exceeds 200. The exhibition simultaneously held the "Datang Meteorology Shanghai Library Collection of Tang Dynasty Monuments Online Competition Activity", which solicited manuscripts for calligraphers and calligraphy enthusiasts across the country.
