On September 25th, a special exhibition opened at the Jiapu Ji Shangzhuang Art Hotel in Shangzhuang Village, a pastoral village in Nanjing.
Young artist Chen Junyu, returning from New York, came here with his 25 works, and his sharp works collided with the beautiful countryside to create a different spark.
People from all walks of life who participated in the opening said that they experienced the painting exhibition for the first time in the rural art hotel, which had a very special look and feel.
The exhibition not only shows Chen Junyu's paintings, but also shows the source and process of inspiration for his creation. At the opening ceremony, Chen Junyu also shared his experience in studying abroad and creating with the guests.
This exhibition is another art exhibition after the Nanjing Jiapu Ji Shangzhuang Art Hotel and the opening special exhibition, and it is also the launch of the Pastoral Oriental Art Manager Program.
Shangzhuang is the representative of most of China's rural areas, and what it has is a real and solid pastoral life, with mountains and water, flowers and trees, fields and land. As the pioneer of the pastoral complex and the practitioner of the integration of urban and rural development, Pastoral Oriental chose art as the theme when creating the Garden Collection shangzhuang, hoping to inspire people's artistic creation and experience of daily beauty in the countryside. The lobby, the staircase classroom, the island bookstore, and even the guest rooms are all used as the carrier of art exhibitions, and exhibitions of pottery, floral art, paper art, calligraphy and painting are held from time to time.
In the pastoral Oriental Shangzhuang, there is a group of people who are willing to live, create and connect here, they are the new villagers of Shangzhuang, are the practitioners of the new pastoralism, they do not forget the native China, advocate humanistic ideas, in the village, in the pastoral, they hope to invite more people with common pursuit, think together about the relationship between people and themselves, with others, with nature, and the future, jointly explore the flow of symbiosis between the city and the countryside, eager to provide a more ideal and beautiful life sample for the society.
Young artist Davy is one of them.
Since his childhood, he received all-English teaching and visual arts training from famous teachers, graduated from the high school of Nanjing Foreign Chinese School, and was admitted to six top art colleges in the United States. After studying and traveling in New York for four years, he graduated from the Illustration Department of Parsons School of Design, the number one art and design school in the United States, in May 2020, and has made great achievements in the fields of painting and visual communication, integrating the artistic creation concepts of The East and the West. After returning to China, Chen Junyu set up the "David 1997 Art Studio", focusing on participating in art and public welfare activities, and was the initiator of the "Purple Mountain International Artist Residency Program" and the project commissioner of the "Zhu Yaokui Patriotic Cultural Development Special Fund" of the Amity Foundation.

Choosing to hold a solo exhibition in the pastoral Oriental Shangzhuang, Chen Junyu hopes to bring a more international vision to the countryside and practice his concept of "using Western art to feed back and strengthen Chinese culture". The solo exhibition will close on October 8.
In the future, Nanjing Pastoral Oriental Shangzhuang Village will invite more artistic masters to stay.
