On the morning of May 11, the 2024 Chengdu Wuhou District Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Publicity Week was launched in Wangjianglou Park, a first-level emergency shelter in Wangjiang Road Street.
At the launching ceremony, four groups of disaster prevention and mitigation training practical activities were carried out in turn, and the members of the Chengdu Tianfu Emergency Rescue Team conducted professional practical demonstrations on the precautions for the safe use of gas, the fire extinguishing of household oil pots, and the use of fire escape masks.
The Red Cross Society of the District gave a comprehensive and detailed explanation of the knowledge of emergency rescue, and many people participated in the practical experience, and a quiz on disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge was also carried out on the spot. The District Bureau of Economy, Science and Technology and Information Technology, the District Education Bureau, the District Civil Affairs Bureau, the District Fire and Rescue Brigade and other relevant member units of the District Disaster Reduction Committee participated in the publicity.
In recent years, Wuhou District has thoroughly implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on disaster prevention, mitigation and relief and the relevant policies on disaster prevention and mitigation at all levels, adhered to safety first and prevention first, actively built a framework for major safety and emergency response, continuously improved the disaster prevention and mitigation system, and focused on promoting the transformation of risk governance to pre-prevention, and significantly improved the capacity and level of disaster prevention, mitigation and disaster relief. During the publicity week, Wuhou District will organize and carry out centralized publicity activities, natural disaster plan drills, disaster prevention and mitigation publicity week prize quiz activities, disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge training, natural disaster science knowledge learning and disaster prevention and mitigation volunteer services and other activities, to further enhance the attention of all sectors of society to disaster prevention and mitigation work, popularize and promote the knowledge of disaster prevention and mitigation and disaster avoidance and self-rescue skills of the whole people, and promote the development of disaster prevention and mitigation in the whole district.
