On May 6, Qu Qiubai's former residence at No. 10, Lane 64, Fenyang Road, Xuhui District, was officially unveiled. Because there are still residents living in the old residence, it is not open to the public, but under the leadership of Tianping Road Street in Xuhui District, the corner of Fuxing Middle Road on Fenyang Road, where the old residence is located, has completed the repair and renewal, opening up a new urban pocket square. At present, citizens and tourists can scan the QR code on the nameplate of the former residence, and immerse themselves in learning and understanding the short and great life of the martyr Qu Qiubai.

Before the founding of New China, No. 10, Lane 64, Fenyang Road, was once No. 10 Bixingfang, Bixun Road, which was the private residence of patriot Xie Danru. In 1932, Qu Qiubai and his wife Yang Zhihua lived here. According to information provided by the Party History Research Office of the Xuhui District Party Committee, after Qu Qiubai was dismissed from his post in 1931, lin fu under the pseudonym Lin Fu moved to a workers' settlement in Liangyili, Daxi Road (now Yan'an West Road). In April of that year, After Gu Shunzhang was arrested in Wuhan, he mutinied, and Qu Qiubai had to be transferred again. He first stayed at the relatives of his wife Yang Zhihua for one night, and the next day he transferred to Mao Dun's home in Shudri, Yuyuan Road. However, Mao Dun's family only had a third-floor large box at that time, and it was not easy for Qu Qiubai and his wife to hide.

Therefore, through Mao Dun's introduction, Qu Qiubai and his wife have lived with the patriot Xie Danru family at No. 68 Zixia Road in nanshi district since 1931. In order to protect Qu Qiubai and his family, Xie Danru did not tell anyone the identity of Qu Qiubai's family, not even his own wife Qian Yunjin, and all said that one of his wenyou, Mr. Lin, was living in his home for recuperation due to illness.

After the "1.28" incident in 1932, Xie Danru and Qu Qiubai's families moved from the southern city to No. 10 Bixingfang, Bixun Road, bixun Road, the French Concession at that time, the Xie family lived on the second floor, and Qu Qiubai and his wife lived on the third floor. At that time, shortly after xie Danru's mother died, there was also a spiritual hall on the first floor of the small building. Yang Zhihua, the wife of Qu Qiubai, personally helped the Xie family to handle the funeral, and relatives came and went with a lot of good feelings for this "Lin family sister-in-law". This identity has played an important role in covering the secret concealment of Qu Qiubai and his wife.

During his stay at Bixingfang, Qu Qiubai was unremittingly engaged in literary creation and translation. According to the statistics of the "New Compilation of Qu Qiubai's Chronology", during his stay in this small building, Qu Qiubai completed the thesis "Shanghai War and War Literature", the popular rap "Heroes IngeniousLy Dedicate To Shanghai", and the essay "New Heroes" satirizing the surrender policy of the Kuomintang reactionaries. Here he also re-proofread a revised draft of Mao Dun's famous novel Midnight and wrote a treatise reviewing Mao Dun's novella Threesome. In addition, he translated Lunacharsky's play The Liberated Don Quixote.

After China and Japan signed the "armistice agreement," the Qu and Xie families moved back to their old residence on Zixia Road. On December 11, 1932, Chen Yun picked up Qu Qiubai and his wife from Xie Danru's home and sent them to a more hidden place. Yang Zhihua later recalled that the couple lived in the Xie family's two residences for a total of one year and seven months. For this period of time, Qu Qiubai once commented that living in Xie Danru's home for more than a year was the most peaceful, comfortable and comfortable day in his life.

Compared with the Qu Qiubai Martyrs Memorial Hall in Changting, Fujian Province, and the former site of Qu Qiubai's apartment on Shanyin Road in Hongkou District, Shanghai, the former residence on Fenyang Road was not well known before. To this end, Tianping Street, located in the Hengfu Historical and Cultural Landscape District, released the "Walking Balance Red Classic" micro-route in March 2018, including Qu Qiubai's former residence at 16 points. Citizens can scan the QR code on the point to understand the relevant information of the old house on the spot. In November 2020, the Xuhui District Cultural and Tourism Bureau listed the "Qu Qiubai Former Residence" as a cultural relics protection site in Xuhui District, and Tianping Street entrusted Shanghai Anmoji Architectural Planning and Design Co., Ltd. to micro-update the corner square next to the former residence of Qu Qiubai on Fenyang Road for the world to better admire and understand the lives of martyrs.
