After the meat pigeon lays eggs, in order to ensure the survival rate and reduce losses, the base is equipped with an automatic incubation machine in the pigeon loft, computer science sets the temperature and humidity, and uniformly hatches pigeon eggs, and each incubation machine can accommodate more than 1,000 pigeon eggs. The chicks are recorded and monitored regularly, and the chicks can hatch out of their shells after 18 days.
After being fed by the hen for about a month, the young pigeons can grow into suckling pigeons. The pigeon is tender and nourishing, rich in nutrients such as crude protein and inorganic salt, and is a rare food delicacy. The current market price of suckling pigeons is at least 16 yuan a piece, pigeon eggs 3 to 5 yuan a piece, and even pigeon manure can be sold for 10 yuan a bag. The pigeon became a veritable "rich pigeon" in Liuzhao Village.
It is reported that the base has 30 pigeon sheds, breeds more than 60,000 meat pigeons, with an annual output value of 8.5 million yuan, provides 50 jobs for Zhangwu Town, and drives farmers to develop family-style small farms and custody of the dividend model, driving local poverty alleviation households and the masses to increase their income and become rich.
"In the next step, we are going to expand the pigeon loft and breed 100,000 meat pigeons." Han Yumin, the person in charge of the base, said that after years of operation, the base has mastered mature breeding technology and has a fixed sales market, hoping to drive more villagers to participate in meat pigeon breeding, so that small white pigeons can be attracted from the ravine and "rich pigeons" can be flown out.
