On May 10, Xu Jingjun, a young cadre born in the 90s from Heping District, as the 399th case of hematopoietic stem cell volunteers in Tianjin and the 9th case of successful matching in Heping District, successfully donated 300ml of hematopoietic stem cells after 6 hours of collection, lighting up the hope of life for a child with blood diseases who had never met before.
Xu Jingjun, a young cadre in the Organization Department of the Heping District Party Committee, took 8ml of samples and registered for the China Bone Marrow Bank many years ago and became a volunteer hematopoietic stem cell donor. Hematopoietic stem cells are the "seeds" of human blood cells, from which all blood cells in the human body proliferate and differentiate. At present, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is the only way to cure refractory blood diseases, and hematopoietic stem cell donation is an important guarantee for achieving hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and saving patients with malignant blood diseases.
In April this year, Xu Jingjun received a call from the staff of the Tianjin branch of the China Bone Marrow Bank, and learned that his hematopoietic stem cells were preliminarily matched with a blood disease patient, and he agreed to donate without hesitation: "I know that the probability of successful matching is only 1 in 100,000, just like looking for a needle in a haystack, to be able to successfully match among tens of millions of people, and have the opportunity to save a life, this is my glory!" Xu Jingjun's decision was also supported by his family and unit, which strengthened his confidence in donating, and he carefully prepared and successfully passed the follow-up high-resolution test and a series of physical examinations.
After five days of preparation in the hospital, on the morning of the 10th, Xu Jingjun came to the hematopoietic stem cell collection room, and after more than 6 hours, the collection was successfully completed and urgently sent to the patient's hospital. This donation has brought hope for patients with blood diseases and demonstrated the great love and responsibility of an outstanding party member and cadre.
