May 12 this year is the 16th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day in mainland China, and May 11 to 17 is the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Publicity Week. In order to further enhance the awareness of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction among the masses and improve the ability of the whole people to avoid disasters and save themselves, recently, the County Emergency Management Bureau (Earthquake Bureau) took the lead in organizing relevant units of the county to carry out centralized publicity activities in Wenming Lake.
At the event site, various departments popularized the knowledge of geological disasters, earthquake escape, earthquake avoidance, forest fire prevention and emergency rescue and other disasters and safety production by hanging banners, displaying exhibition boards, distributing leaflets on earthquake prevention and disaster reduction knowledge and explaining and publicizing flood control work knowledge on the spot. A total of more than 500 copies of publicity materials were distributed, and more than 200 people were consulted on site. At the same time, the staff of the county Red Cross Society explained and demonstrated artificial cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the spot, and popularized the basic knowledge and skills of self-help and mutual rescue to the people participating in the activity.
In the next step, the County Emergency Management Bureau (Earthquake Bureau) will continue to carry out a series of publicity activities in schools, enterprises and rural areas in combination with the grassroots theme activities under the 100 movies of "Everyone Stresses Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies - Striving to Improve the Ability of Grassroots Disaster Prevention and Avoidance", so as to popularize the knowledge of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction to the public and enhance the public's ability to prevent and respond to various earthquake disasters.
