This year is the 120th anniversary of the founding of the Red Cross Society of China, May 8 is the 77th World Red Cross Day, today (May 8) noon, the Red Cross Society of Xuhui District held the "Fraternity Shencheng You and I Walk Together - Xuhui District 'Red Cross Fraternity Week' theme activity" in the central square of Huaxin Huixiang City, Hongmei Street, Liu Guangwen, vice president of the Shanghai Red Cross Society, Luo Huapin, deputy head of Xuhui District and president of the District Red Cross Society, and other leaders attended the event.
At the event, Red Cross workers from cities, districts and towns jointly released the service menu of "Red Cross Fraternity Week" in Xuhui District. During the "Red Cross Fraternity Week", the Red Cross Societies at the district and town levels will carry out various activities such as free clinics, online fundraising for humanitarian relief projects, blood donation activities for hematopoietic stem cell donation volunteers, centralized storage of hematopoietic stem cell donation volunteers, emergency rescue training, and Red Cross knowledge learning competitions. At the same time, Xuhui District will hold 66 Red Cross service activities for the people.
The event awarded plaques to Hongmei Street, which won the "National Urban Community Fraternity Home Demonstration Site", and Lingyun Street, which won the "Fraternity Home" (town) of the Shanghai Red Cross Society. The five units that donated charity materials in this public service activity: Aier Ophthalmology, Xuhui District Knowledge Association, Xuhui District New Association, Xuhui Branch of the Municipal European and American Returned Scholars Association, and Dehe Hantong Law Firm were awarded honorary certificates. Subsequently, on-site free clinics, charity sales, and the Red Cross "Three Rescues and Three Contributions" publicity activities also kicked off.
This humanitarian service activity was held at noon. At this time, it was also the rest time for the white-collar workers in the park, and in less than a while, each free clinic booth was full of young white-collar workers who came to consult. Experts from the Department of Rehabilitation and Cardiology of Xuhui District Central Hospital, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery of Shanghai Eighth People's Hospital, and the Department of Orthopedics of Jiahui International Hospital gathered together to serve the people. Aier Ophthalmology and Ruikang Dentistry, the governing units of the District Red Cross Society, have also brought meticulous ophthalmology and dental diagnosis and treatment services to corporate white-collar workers.
In front of the charity sale booth, the volunteers were very enthusiastic, and they actively recommended charity materials for the white-collar workers in the park to raise funds for humanitarian relief projects. The white-collar workers in the park came to the charity stall one after another to choose their favorite items. Everyone did not hesitate to donate generously, expressing their strong support for public welfare undertakings with practical actions, and the scene was full of warmth and warm love. "The items I buy are usually used, and I also dedicate my love to help people in need." A white-collar worker said.
A series of booths were also carefully set up at the site. At the Red Cross emergency ambulance experience booth, everyone was full of curiosity to learn the knowledge of Red Cross first aid and experience CPR+AED operation skills on the spot. Before the hematopoietic stem cell voluntary storage consultation booth, everyone actively learned about the relevant knowledge, and many people filled in the registration form on the spot. The Children's Hospitalization Medical Mutual Fund and the unpaid blood donation consultation booth set up by the District Blood Management Office also attracted many enthusiastic people to come for consultation. The Red Cross quiz wall was even more lively, with many people actively participating in the quizzes, showing their keen interest in Red Cross culture.
This theme activity further strengthens the Red Cross's "Three Rescues and Three Contributions" publicity, actively guides white-collar workers, enterprise employees and community people in enterprise parks to participate in the Red Cross humanitarian cause, and jointly gathers the Red Cross humanitarian forces, so that the Red Cross spirit of "humanity, fraternity and dedication" can be widely disseminated.
