On April 30, the first large-scale animal experiment base for full-ecological chain modeled experiments in China, Dashuo Global Center for Human Disease Animal Models, started construction in Yongchuan District.
The total investment of the project is about 200 million yuan, covering an area of about 108 acres. It is planned to build the strategic core base of Dashuo laboratory animals, as well as the largest human disease animal model construction and application platform in the west, the country's largest P+CRO whole industry chain integration, ultra-clean pig construction and application platform, standardized animals for medical devices (medical pigs, laboratory dogs, medical rabbits) resource and application center, experimental standardized cat nursery center, animal nutrition R&D and transformation base, diagnostic and therapeutic antibody animal innovation polar core, and the first laboratory animal theme science education center in China.
"Strive to achieve initial results within two years, build a domestic first-class and international leading laboratory animal resource library within five years, and break through the key technology of the world's medium and large-scale real-world simulation mode animals, with an output value of 200 million yuan. A new benchmark for high value-added scarce model animals and medium and large human disease animal models with mainland characteristics has been formed. In recent years, Yongchuan Biomedicine and Health Industry have accelerated the construction of biotechnology industrial parks and medical device industrial parks around the goal of jointly building a biomedical industry cluster with national influence in Chengdu and Chongqing.
"It is planned that by 2025, the scale of Yongchuan's biomedical and health industry will reach 10 billion yuan, and the number of enterprises and incubation projects will be about 100. By 2030, the scale of the industry will reach 30 billion yuan. Mu Fei, head of the New Economic Development Section of the Yongchuan District New Town Construction Management Committee, said.
