Yesterday (29th), with the precise lifting of the last steel grid in place, the steel structure of the T3 terminal project of the third phase expansion project of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport participated in by China Construction Third Bureau Steel Structure Technology Co., Ltd. was fully capped, marking the full transfer of the project to the construction stage of metal roof and curtain wall decoration.

The steel roof of the project adopts the configuration of "centralized main building + corridor", which is divided into 5 areas, which are composed of the main building, southeast corridor, southwest corridor, northeast corridor and northwest corridor, with a maximum length of 435 meters in the east-west direction, a length of about 573 meters in the north-south direction, and a maximum building height of 42.95 meters. The steel structure is assembled by 82,000 rods and 18,000 welding balls, with a total steel consumption of nearly 20,000 tons and a projection area of 118,000 square meters, equivalent to 16 standard football fields.

In the face of many challenges such as the large span of the special-shaped hyperboloid grid in the terminal, the complex structural form, the large number of grid assembly, the accuracy of the tire frame grid in place, and the cross-operation of multiple processes, the project team finally adopted the combined construction technical scheme of "floor in-situ assembly + multi-professional integration and comprehensive improvement of zoning and grading", divided into 3 construction areas and 35 construction zones, and adopted various methods such as hoisting and lifting for different partitions and parts. Under the guarantee of computer-controlled hydraulic synchronous lifting technology, the steel grid is smoothly lifted to the designated position at an average speed of 6~8 meters per hour, and the installation accuracy is within 1 mm.

The project uses BIM technology to establish a 3D model of virtual architectural engineering, deepens the design of the spatial surface through parametric software, and continuously optimizes the construction plan in combination with the characteristics of the structural form and the interspersed operation of the process. Combined with intelligent equipment such as intelligent optical fiber prestressed cables, intelligent welding machines, intelligent storage yards, and 3D scanning robots, the whole process of monitoring the deformation and stress of the unloading process, real-time processing and analysis, dynamic management, accurate guidance of on-site construction, and comprehensive improvement of construction efficiency. By 3D scanning the welding position, the ultrasonic flaw detector is used to locate and inspect each weld, evaluate and diagnose the defects in the weld, and ensure the assembly and improve the accuracy.

The project team adheres to the guidance of party building, integrates the party building brand culture into the standardized management of the branch, establishes a party member vanguard team and a youth commando team, and divides the party member responsibility area into intensive cultivation responsibility fields in accordance with the "one district and one party member" model. More than 1,000 assembly and welding workers, more than 400 days of uninterrupted construction work continue to stimulate the strength of hard work, strive to overcome the difficulties and pain points in construction and production, and complete the first crane of the steel structure, the comprehensive lifting of the large-span grid, and the grading and unloading of the large-area grid as scheduled. The project has successively won the first prize of Hubei Province QC Achievement Award, Guangdong Provincial Housing Municipal Engineering Safety Production and Civilized Construction Demonstration Site, Guangzhou Safe and Civilized Construction Model Site, the title of "2023 May Fourth Outstanding Youth Commando" of China Construction Third Engineering Bureau, and the title of "Advanced Collective of Safety Management" of China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Science and Technology Innovation Company.

The T3 terminal project of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport Phase III Expansion Project is the largest reconstruction and expansion project in the history of civil aviation airport construction in mainland China, the largest aviation hub project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and a key project for Guangdong Airport Group to implement the "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" and the "1+1+9" work deployment proposed by the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, and help build the regional development pattern of "one core, one belt and one district" in Guangdong. After completion, Baiyun Airport will have an annual terminal passenger throughput capacity of 140 million person-times and a cargo and mail throughput capacity of 6 million tons, and the passenger and cargo throughput scale will be in a leading position in the world.
