This morning (29th), the 92nd anniversary of Yin Fengji's Shanghai charity was held in the plum garden of Lu Xun Park. The event was co-hosted by the Mehyun Yoon Bong-gil Memorial Project and the Shanghai Hongkou District International Exchange Center, with the active participation and support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai. About 100 people attended the event, including Zheng Weiyun, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Hongkou District, Kim Young-joon, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai, Kim Dae-hee, Vice Chairman of the Me-Hyun Yoon Bong-gil Memorial Association, and representatives of Korean overseas Chinese organizations in Shanghai.

A ceremony was held at the event to pay a moment of silence and lay flowers to Yoon Bong-gil, and the life and deeds of Yoon Bong-gil were introduced. The students of Lighthouse International School gave a poetry recital, and the Korean History Mother Choir presented the song of Yoon Bong-gil to commemorate the great feat of Yoon Bong-gil, and praised the people of the two countries for sharing the same hatred and supporting each other, and writing a historical chapter that can be sung and cried with burning faith and belief and fiery feelings for the family and country.

On April 29, 1932, a charity incident occurred in Hongkou Park that shocked China and the rest of the world, and Yoon Bong-gil, a Korean anti-Japanese hero, was killed and injured in Hongkou Park, Shanghai, China, and 7 other Japanese military and political dignitaries, including General Shirakawa Yoshinori, commander of the Japanese army that invaded Shanghai. Yoon Bong-gil's righteous act in Shanghai reflects the indomitable national spirit of the Korean people in resisting Japanese militarist aggression and forgetting their lives, and at the same time inspires the fighting spirit of the Chinese and Korean people in resisting Japanese imperialist aggression. Yoon Bong-gil is not only a national hero of the Korean people, but also an anti-Japanese hero respected by the Chinese people.

In order to commemorate this anti-Japanese hero, since 1996, the Meixuan Yin Fengji Memorial Association has held commemorative activities in the Plum Garden of Lu Xun Park in Shanghai every year. It is hoped that the event will be an opportunity for China and South Korea to deepen people-to-people exchanges and promote mutual learning among civilizations on the basis of continuing to maintain close cooperation, give full play to the role of the Meiyuan platform, enhance the deep friendship and mutual trust between the two countries, and enable the two peoples to move from "living next to each other" to "being close to each other".
