The Jianghuai Freehand School of Painting began in the 60s of the 20th century, centered on Hefei and active in the Jianghuai region, and was founded by Mr. Xiao Longshi, a master of Chinese painting. Most of the disciples of Xiao Longshi and his followers who have been active in the Jianghuai region for a long time are the disciples of this school. This genre emphasizes the free and unrestrained brushwork, the pursuit of artistic conception and far-reaching atmosphere, and embodies the "bone-based method, Taoist nature, and natural artistic style" in traditional Chinese painting.
