The reporter learned that in the shortlist of this year, Hubei Opera and Dance Theater is the only provincial literary and art academy troupe in the country that has been shortlisted for 2 works (1 classic repertoire and 1 newly created play). Among them, "Honghu Red Guard" has been recognized as a landmark classic of Chinese national opera, and has been performed more than 3,000 times for more than 60 years. "Angel Diary" began to be created during the anti-epidemic period in 2020, and premiered in October of that year, creating a new record of Chinese opera that "the event of the year occurred, the creation was carried out that year, and the stage was presented that year", which is considered to be an epic work reflecting the spirit of China's fight against the epidemic. It has been widely acclaimed since its premiere last year, showing the strength of Hubei opera art.

According to reports, at present, the cast and crew of the academy are stepping up rehearsals, and in late October, these two operas will make a wonderful appearance at this year's China Opera Festival, singing in Qingdao and Yantai, Shandong.
