On October 24, the "Honghu Red Guards" crew from Hubei Opera and Dance Theater arrived in Qingdao, Shandong Province, and held the first opera guided tour in the local area. On the evening of the 25th and 26th, this red classic opera will be performed as one of the major plays of the 4th China Opera Festival and will be brilliantly performed at the Qingdao Phoenix Sound Grand Theater.
The 4th Chinese Opera Festival, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People's Government of Shandong Province, was grandly opened in Jinan on the 13th of this month. During the opera festival, 24 outstanding opera works from all over the country were performed in 48 performances in 7 cities in Shandong. Among them, hubei province two blockbuster plays - Hubei Provincial Opera and Dance Theater created and performed "Honghu Red Guards" and "Angel Diary" will represent Hubei to Shandong, the academy is also the only provincial theater troupe in the country selected for 2 works in this opera festival.
The Chinese Opera Festival is a national-level artistic event in the field of opera in China, which is held every three years. Among the 24 outstanding plays shortlisted for the 4th China Opera Festival, 18 are newly created plays and 6 are classic plays. The two works selected by our province, the classic and the newly created repertoire account for one each.
On October 24th, the "Honghu Red Guards" guided tour was held in Qingdao Development Zone, and the executive director of the play, Zhou Yan, and the fourth generation of "Han Ying" actor Ma Yaqin met with the local audience and introduced the details of this classic opera, which was warmly welcomed. When Maya Qin sang the section "Honghu Lake Water Waves" in the live oratorio, an audience member actually closed the duet part perfectly offstage, and there was not a single wrong tone, which shows everyone's familiarity and love for this opera.
As the highland of Chinese national opera, the Provincial Opera and Dance Theater has created a stage miracle of "Honghu Red Guard" that has been performed for a long time, and enjoys the reputation of "Chinese opera to see Hubei" in the circle. The two operas selected for the 4th China Opera Festival will be sung in Qingdao and Yantai, Shandong on October 25, 26, 30 and 31 respectively.
