Synopsis: The opera "Honghu Red Guards" premiered in 1959, telling the story of the Red Second Army led by He Long in 1930 in the Honghu area of Hubei Province, which temporarily withdrew from the tug-of-war with the enemy, and the local revolutionary armed forces "Honghu Red Guards", under the leadership of Han Ying and Liu Chuang, skillfully maneuvered with the Kuomintang security regiment and the local lake tyrant Peng Batian, and dealt a heavy blow to the enemy. The play has been rated as the "20th Century Chinese Music Classic" and has been performed more than 3,000 times so far as a treasure of Chinese national opera.
