In the season of recovery of all things, standing on the observation deck of the Grand Canyon of the Yellow River in Zhungeer overlooking both banks, the plateau is reckless and the river is mighty at the extreme.

In the distance, there was a loud and distant tune: "You know that there are dozens of bends in the Yellow River in the world, and there are dozens of boat......s in the bends and bends" This song is sung on the bank of the Yellow River "The Yellow River in the World", and Qi Fulin has sung it for a lifetime. Qi Fulin is the representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage of the Jungger Banner, who has lived on the banks of the Yellow River since he was a child, and has traveled through the ravines and ravines of the Yellow River and its tributaries.

From ancient times to the present, the Yellow River has nourished and changed the people and things of the Ordos Plateau. On the plateau and between the ravines, the tributaries such as the Wuding River, the Huangfu River, the Wulan Mulun River, and the "Ten Great Kongdui" feed back and interpret the Yellow River and the Yellow River culture.

In 2023, Wuding River (Ordos Section) was successfully selected into the second batch of national excellent cases of beautiful rivers and lakes.

Where is the beauty of the uncertain river?

"Compared with 2017, the water quality of Dacaowan in the outbound section will be improved from Class III to Class II in 2023, and the concentrations of ammonia nitrogen and permanganate index will decrease by 56.5% and 25.6%, respectively," said Bu Rigude, deputy director of the Wuding River Basin Comprehensive Management and Development Center in Wushenqi. The natural shoreline basically maintained the original appearance of the river, the ecological baseflow of the estuarine hydrological station section could meet the target requirements, and the number and coverage of indigenous fish species such as Varsa yarrow and Rodfish were effectively restored. Especially after the beginning of spring, the species and number of wintering migratory birds continue to increase, and the relict gull, a national first-class protected bird, the eagle owl and the red-footed falcon, reappear in the Wuding River. ”

"Poor and uncertain riverside bones, like a person in a spring boudoir dream. "The history of human activity in the Wuding River in Tang Dynasty poet Chen Tao's "Journey to the West of Longxi" can be traced back to about 10 to 50,000 years ago.

The Wuding River is one of the 13 first-class tributaries of the Yellow River, and the section of Ordos City is called the Sarawusu River, with a total length of 100 kilometers and a basin area of 10,100 square kilometers.

Even in the cold winter, the ancient and magical Sarausu River still flows happily.

It was here that the prehistoric ancestors of the Sarausu River, the "Hetao people", started from here and created the famous Sarausu culture ("Hetao culture"). The first paleolithic human remains found in China with reliable stratigraphic and chronological basis are the Sarausu site. Its discovery has opened the curtain on the history of paleoanthropology in China and even Asia, and also revealed the earliest known whereabouts of paleoanthropology in Inner Mongolia.

In 2021, in order to cooperate with the construction of the Sarawusu National Archaeological Site Park and the restart of the archaeological work of the Sarawusu cultural site, the Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other units jointly carried out this work. From September to November of that year, Chen Fuyou, deputy secretary general of the Paleolithic Professional Committee of the Chinese Archaeological Society, led a team into the Sarawusu area to carry out investigation and excavation, and unearthed a number of paleolithic, bone and vertebrate fossils. Chen Fuyou said that this archaeology is the beginning of new archaeological work at the Sarausu cultural site, and new progress has been made: the original location of the paleolithic tools excavated by French scholars in 1923 has been reconfirmed, and an academic problem that has long plagued the paleolithic archaeological community has been solved.

On August 14, 2023, the International Forum on the 100th Anniversary of the Discovery of the "Hetao People" opened in Wushenqi, where well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad gathered in Ordos to discuss the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage, further enhance the international influence and popularity of the "Hetao Culture", and promote the archaeological research of the Sarawusu site to a new level.

Over the years, the Ordos Plateau has formed a profound cultural accumulation and rich historical relics - it has a splendid Sarawusu culture, Zhukaigou culture and Ordos bronze culture, and a number of historical and cultural sites such as the Great Wall of the Warring States Period, Qinzhidao and Alzhai Grottoes, and has given birth to many national intangible cultural heritages such as Ordos weddings, Manhan tunes, and ancient songs......

Historical relics, cultural monuments, cultural heritage, and civilization imprints condense the wisdom and emotions of the ancestors, and carry the rich cultural genes of Ordos High School.

A city and a river are picturesque and like a song

Kangbashi District plans to start the construction of large-scale ecological parks such as Qianting Mountain and Qingchun Mountain Forest Park in Ulan Mulun Lake.

"The Ulan Mulun River flows to the southeast through Kangbashi District and Yijin Huoluo Banner, and enters Fugu County, Shaanxi, and the downstream is called the Kuye River, which belongs to the first-class tributaries of the Yellow River. The staff of the Yijin Horo Banner Cultural and Tourism Bureau introduced to reporters. "In 2011, during the archaeological survey in the upper reaches of the Ulan Mulun River, more than 50 paleolithic sites were discovered, and thousands of stone artifacts were collected. The types of these artifacts are abundant, especially the exquisitely processed pointed tools and scrapers with European Moster characteristics, which indicate that the Ulan Mulun River Basin is the basic area for the survival, reproduction, hunting, and stone tool making of ancient human beings in Ulan Mulun, and there used to be a large number of ethnic groups with a wide range of activities. ”

In the middle of spring, climb high and overlook the Kangbashi District of Ordos City, the blue sky and white clouds high-rise square and a mosaic jade belt river, which is a beauty that cannot be achieved by all filters. As the country's first national 4A-level tourist attraction with the city as the carrier, Kangbashi District has "the city is in the forest, the home is in the garden", depicting a beautiful picture of the city of "one step, one scene, one picture, suitable for living, working and traveling".

Kangbashimei is in the Ulan Mulun River, only to see a water around the city, the river is green, the suspension bridge is flying, the colorful flags are displayed, and the traffic is busy. Nearby is the first bridge of Kangbashi, also called Ulan Mulun Bridge, connecting Ordos Street in Kangbashi District and Alteng Xire Town of Yijin Horoqi, and the white cable-stayed beam design is strong and fashionable.

The Ulan Mulun River, which surrounds the city, meanders through the center of Kangbashi, dividing the city into two parts, north and south, and deducing the beautiful scenery of the river in the city and the city on the river.

When the Ulan Mulun River flows through the center of the city, it cleverly impounds water into a lake. Ulan Mulun Lake is divided into two axes, two belts, three districts and six nodes, highlighting the style of "modern grassland city, new scenery of the long river in the desert". The most eye-catching is the 18 groups of large-scale murals painted along the river of Ulan Mulun Landscape Lake, with a total length of 3.8 kilometers, showing the magnificent development process of human history and civilization.

The shore of Ulan Mulun Lake has also become an ideal shooting place for photographers - whenever the golden morning sun sprinkles the wide water surface of the Ulan Mulun River, it seems to take the Kangbashi who stopped not far away into the arms, and the water cities are interdependent, and the graceful bridges and towering buildings are reflected on the waves, sometimes calm and blue, sometimes sparkling. The whole city is full of light and clouds, like a magnified Jiangnan bonsai, full of poetry.

The most beautiful aspect of the Ulan Mulun River is the night view. At night, the water screen projection music fountain with a maximum spray height of 230 meters - Wulan Mulun Lake Music Fountain will bring you a shock to your senses.

The lights on the banks of Ulan Mulun Lake are shining, and the colorful lights of the Qionglou and bridges on both sides of the river are reflected in the calm lake water, and people seem to see the legendary "Sea of Stars", which makes you believe that poetry and distance are in front of you.

The ancient and the modern reflect each other, and the benchmark moves forward

Ordos City has stepped up the scientific treatment technology of the ten major holes of the Yellow River.

"After the wind and rain, the city of Ordos from south to north ten parallel tributaries flow through the Kubuqi Desert, through the Dalat alluvial plain, into the Yellow River, with a total area of 10,767 square kilometers. It is also known as the 'Ten Great Kongdui' (Kongdui, which means mountain torrent ditch in Mongolian). Wang Lijun, director of the Water Protection Office of the Dalat Banner Water Conservancy Bureau, pointed to a map and said.

The tile kiln site is located in Wayao Village, Shulinzhao Town, Hantai River Basin, one of the "Ten Great Kongdui", which belongs to the late Neolithic Yangshao culture of about 5,500 years ago, and lasted until the Han Dynasty after the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period.

"The tile kiln site provides a lot of valuable information for understanding the local social organization, economic form, productivity development level, living customs, etc., from the late Neolithic period to the Han Dynasty, and occupies a very important position in the process of ancient history in the Ordos region. Yang Yingquan, deputy director of the Dalat Banner Culture and Tourism Bureau, introduced that from the Xia, Shang, Zhou to Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, Dalat on the south bank of the Yellow River has always been a place of mutual trading and rich products, and it is also a place where nomadic culture, grassland culture, Yellow River culture and farming culture blend.

The Book of Han records that during the Han Dynasty and the Han Dynasty, Xihe County had Meiji County. Experts have verified that the geographical location of the ancient city is in the north of Narin Village, Shaqi Town, Zhunger Banner.

The name alone is beautiful enough to be sassy enough! Today's central square in the town center of the Zhunger Banner also uses the word "Meiji."

According to the staff of the local culture and tourism bureau, the Nalin River runs south to Jinxi and Shaanxi, and the northern reaches Hubao, and the historical grassland Silk Road passes through here, and the Han Dynasty became the ruling center of the Southern Xiongnu.

The ancient city of "Meiji" now only has more than 100 meters of rammed earth traces, and the former city wall is located between the Huangfu River basin with ravines.

Du Xianghua, the person in charge of the Huangfuchuan small watershed management project of the Zhungeer Banner Water Conservancy Bureau, said: "We combined with the actual landform, dug fish scale pits on the top of the mountain to plant pine trees, built horizontal terraces on the slope to plant fruit trees, and shrunk the river at the bottom of the ditch to build a dam, creating a unique small watershed management model, and completing a total of 2.21 million mu of comprehensive water and soil conservation treatment." ”

Xiliugou is one of the "top ten holes", and Malichang Hangou is a "capillary" of Xiliugou. After being washed by the water in the summer and autumn of last year, the flood prevention works are being repaired as soon as possible. In the ditch, willow piles weave fences and grain mills to intercept the yellow sand and let out the flood, and there are protective reservoirs at the head of the ditch to prevent the gully from continuing to crack upward; on the mountain cols, fish scale pits are ready for plants such as Pinus tabuliformis, sea buckthorn and caragana to take root and consolidate the soil.

Why should we "smash" more than 30 million yuan to systematically harness this small river basin of several tens of square kilometers? Wang Lijun, director of the Water Conservation Office of the Dalat Banner Water Conservancy Bureau, said: "The mountain torrents here will pour down the hilly and gully areas, sweep over the Kubuqi desert area, rush out of the tidal flat plain area, and carry a large amount of sediment into the Yellow River for a long time. ”

In 2022, Ordos City issued the "2022 Implementation Plan for the Comprehensive Treatment of the "Ten Holes", and launched six major actions: river basin governance and sediment reduction, "four waters and four determinations" and water-saving promotion, land greening and desertification prevention, pollution prevention and environmental remediation, ecological restoration and benefiting the people, scientific and technological innovation and improvement of regulatory capacity.

This year, Dalat Banner will continue to focus on promoting the comprehensive treatment of Xiliugou, focusing on the hilly area in the upper reaches and the wind-blown sand area in the middle reaches, dividing it into 9 small watershed areas, creating two ecologically clean small watershed demonstration projects and one ecological corridor along the Yellow River, and implementing the comprehensive treatment of 495,000 mu of small watersheds.

Today, the comprehensive management of the "Ten Kongdui" river basins has become a benchmark for soil erosion control in China.

The river is mighty and meanders for thousands of miles, and it embraces trickling tributaries and lines with the mind of embracing all rivers. Build a solid ecological security barrier in the northern part of the motherland, deeply explore the value of the times contained in the Yellow River culture, and tell the "Yellow River story" well, Ordos is striding forward along the road of ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin!
