【March 2024 New Energy Vehicle Sales Ranking】According to the sales data released by the Passenger Car Association a few days ago, the retail sales of the domestic narrow new energy passenger vehicle market reached 712,000 units in March 2024, an increase of 30.1% year-on-year, an increase of 83.3% month-on-month in February, and the penetration rate in the passenger car market reached 42.1%.
In terms of retail sales of new energy manufacturers in March, BYD led the sales volume by a long margin, winning the sales championship of new energy manufacturers with sales of 260,300 units, accounting for 36.6% of the domestic new energy passenger vehicle market. Tesla's sales in China declined, ranking second with 62,398 units sold.
Changan Automobile and Geely Automobile both sold more than 40,000 new energy vehicles, ranking third and fourth with sales of 46,990 and 41,802 units. SAIC-GM-Wuling and GAC Aion both sold more than 30,000 new energy vehicles, ranking fifth and sixth.
In addition, Li Auto and Celis Auto sold more than 20,000 new energy vehicles, ranking seventh and eighth with sales of 28,984 and 24,353 units, respectively. Great Wall Motor and Chery Automobile ranked ninth and tenth, with NEV sales of 19,651 and 17,816 units, respectively.
In March, 20 new energy passenger vehicles sold more than 10,000 units were sold. BYD almost monopolized the list, with 11 models selling more than 10,000 units in March, accounting for more than half of the share. Tesla's Model Y maintained its lead in sales, winning the top NEV passenger car sales in March with sales of 47,917 units. THE TESLA MODEL 3 RANKED 12TH WITH SALES OF 14,481 UNITS.
The seven NEVs ranked 2nd to 8th are all from BYD, including the Qin PLUS DM-i, the Seagull, the Song Pro DM-i, the Song PLUS DM-i, the Yuan Plus, the Qin PLUS EV, and the Destroyer 05. In addition, sales of four models, including the Dolphin, Tang DM-i, Han DM-i, and Song PLUS EV, also exceeded 10,000 units.
The M7, which had sold more than 20,000 units in the previous three months, fell to 18,512 units in March, ranking ninth, but still outperforming the sales of the Ideal L7. The Ideal L7 sold 10,768 units, ranking 20th.
Other NEVs that sold more than 10,000 units in March include the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV and Wuling Binguo from Wuling Motors, the Aion S and AION Y from GAC Aion, and the Changan Lumin from Changan Automobile.
The Denza D9 DM-i, the MPV sales champion, ranked 21st with 9,635 units sold.
The sales of three new energy vehicles, including BYD Han EV, Li L9 and Buick Weilan 6, have reached 8,000+ units, ranking 22nd to 24th. Geely Panda and Zeekrypton 001 sold 7,000+ units, ranking 25th and 26th.
The Li L8, Volkswagen ID.3, Hongqi E-QM5, and Wuling Xingguang PHEV ranked 27th to 30th, with sales of 6,392 units, 6,200 units, 5,911 units, and 5,756 units, respectively.
In addition, the sales of eight models, including Deep Blue S7, Toyota bZ3, Changan Qiyuan A05, Wenjie M9, Lynk & Co 08 EM-P, Beijing EU5, BYD Song L, and Leap C11, also exceeded 5,000 units, ranking 31st to 38th.
The sales of nine new energy vehicles, including BYD Seal DM-i, Changan Qiyuan Q05, Leap C10, Zeekrypton 007, Deep Blue SL03, Ora Good Cat, BMW i3, and Galaxy L7, have reached 4,000+ units, ranking 39th to 46th.
