On the afternoon of April 10, Kunzhong Lane, Jiefangmen Street, Xincheng District, ushered in a research team of 52 people - Shaanxi Provincial Cadre Education and Training Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology Base Special Seminar.
They followed the sequence of Kunzhong Lane, Old Xi'an Museum, Shangai Road, and Huangcheng Bookstore to investigate the grassroots governance work of Jiefangmen Street, and conducted an in-depth cultural exchange, visit and discussion with the street and community staff.
The lagging infrastructure and the old and noisy streets are the current situation of the old city, and they are also the pain points and difficulties of grassroots governance.
Since 2019, Jiefangmen Street has taken Kunzhong Lane as a breakthrough and urban fine management as the starting point to gradually transform the shantytown of Kunzhong Lane. Not only the infrastructure was renovated, replacing old pipes, laying permeable bricks, installing road lighting, adding fire extinguishers and fire buckets, etc., after learning the story of Zhang Gaixiang's grandmother who loves stray cats in the alley, the street joined hands with many colleges and universities "community planners", "aesthetic designers" and caring enterprises to inject cat elements into the streetscape, built cat nests and feeding points, continued the goodwill of the residents of the alley and improved the environment, and the old neighborhood became warmer and more pleasing to the eye.
Li Zongying, founder of the Old Xi'an Oil Painting Museum on Shangai Road, said, "The museum collects landscape sketches and stone and wood carving components on the old Guanzhong Road, hoping to attract more and more people to discover the beauty of art here and sink the memories of Guanzhong." ”
Finally, in the "Imperial City Bookstore" located under the east city wall, Wei Liming, the inheritor of intangible cultural heritage, introduced that the Imperial City Bookstore, as the first comprehensive cultural station in the province jointly opened by the street and social forces, is also a mini cultural and creative park, and the Imperial City Bookstore is open to the surrounding people for free borrowing services, including parent-child reading space, self-study space, audio books, etc. The participants in the seminar not only appreciated the rich traditional cultural and creative products, but also learned the traditional intangible cultural heritage knowledge - ancient papermaking and movable type printing.
