In order to implement the "Implementation Plan for the Promotion of Reproductive Health in Guangdong Province (2023-2025)", promote the quality and expansion of youth health work, and improve the sexual and reproductive health level of adolescents, on April 1, the Provincial Family Planning Association held the 2024 Youth Health Work Kick-off Event in Guangzhou. Peng Zhongrong, Secretary-General of the Provincial Family Planning Association, attended the event and delivered a speech, presided over by Su Li, Deputy Secretary-General, and a total of 80 representatives of the Secretary-General of the Family Planning Association and youth health teachers from all over the province participated.
This event deployed the province's youth health work in 2024. The first is to adhere to the project guidance and give full play to the leading role of radiation. The Provincial Family Planning Association has built 14 university project sites and 15 primary and secondary school project sites in the province. At least 2 university project sites or more than 5 primary and secondary school project sites will be built in all cities, and the project work will be promoted to cover all counties (districts and cities), so that more teenagers and their parents can receive education and training on "The Way of Growth" and "The Way of Communication" for youth health. The second is to carry out classified training to improve the level of teachers. In the first half of this year, the Provincial Family Planning Association held teacher training courses for university projects and primary and secondary school projects, and trained youth and health teachers in eastern, western and northern Guangdong in phases. All cities should refer to the practice to hold local project teacher training courses and improvement classes, carry out teacher certification at the same level, and establish a municipal youth health teacher team of more than 30 people. The third is to standardize the construction of positions and improve the quality and effect of services. Provincial youth health colleges and universities, primary and secondary school project sites shall, in accordance with the requirements of the Youth Health Club of the China Family Planning Association, each build a youth health club with a distinct theme, appropriate functions and standardized management. All cities should adopt a variety of methods such as project site construction, joint construction, and integration into the service position of the family planning association to build youth health clubs, and gradually build more than 10 in each prefecture and city. Fourth, carry out the "four advances" activities of youth and health. Carry out youth health education with the theme of "charming youth and health escort" into schools, communities, villages and enterprises. The Provincial Family Planning Association organized provincial-level teachers to send more than 134 classes to various counties (cities and districts), driving more than 2,000 sessions to be completed in various places. Fifth, organize a knowledge exhibition on sexual and reproductive health. Sexual and reproductive health knowledge exhibitions were held in primary and secondary schools throughout the province to popularize sexual and reproductive health knowledge. Each county (district, city) has 20 primary and secondary schools to carry out sexual and reproductive health knowledge exhibitions, and the activities continue throughout the year. Sixth, carry out reproductive health consultation service publicity month activities. From the beginning of November to the beginning of December, the Provincial Family Planning Association organized all localities to carry out reproductive health consultation services publicity month activities with reproductive health publicity, reproductive health consultation, and reproductive health care services as the main content as required. All cities and counties (districts, cities) should hold at least one or more large-scale centralized publicity and service activities to meet the reproductive health needs of the masses.
The activity emphasized that it is necessary to attach great importance to it, conscientiously organize it, and constantly expand the radiation and influence of youth health work. First, it is necessary to further understand the important significance of youth health work and constantly enhance the sense of responsibility. Doing a good job in youth health is the need to implement the functions and tasks of the Family Planning Association, the need to promote the healthy physical and mental development of adolescents, the need to promote the high-quality development of the population, and the need to serve the construction of a healthy Guangdong. Second, we must implement key tasks and promote the high-quality development of youth health work. We should do a good job in the project work and give full play to the demonstration and leading role of the project; do a good job in teacher training to improve the effectiveness of youth health education; do a good job in the construction of positions and provide necessary publicity and consulting services for the development of youth health education; do a good job in carrying out activities and implement the "four advances" in youth health, sexual and reproductive health knowledge exhibitions, and reproductive health consulting service month activities. Third, it is necessary to strengthen organizational leadership and ensure that the work of youth health is implemented. At the beginning of the year, it is necessary to make overall plans, formulate work plans, and clarify work tasks. Give full play to the advantages of mass organizations, strengthen coordination with relevant departments, and make more contact with colleges and universities, primary and secondary schools, and communities, to provide support and guidance for youth health work. Raise funds from various sources to provide financial guarantees for the implementation of youth health work.
During the period, the Provincial Family Planning Association awarded the banner of "Guangdong Provincial Family Planning Association Youth Health Teachers" to the representatives of youth health teachers in various cities, and the teacher representatives made speeches on the spot.
