One winter day in 1908, Wu Zhonglian was born in a small village in a remote area of Hunan Province.

In the spring of 1926, Wu Zhonglian lived up to expectations and was admitted to Hengyang Municipal Third Women's Normal College.
From a small county town to a city, a larger and broader world is displayed in front of Wu Zhonglian. At that time, the situation in China was complicated, and it could be described as a broken mountain and river.
Since he was a child, Wu Zhonglian was determined to "save the world and survive", but he could not find a suitable way to participate in the revolution.
Fate did not make Wu Zhonglian wait too long at the intersection of history, and Wu Zhonglian soon met his close friend in the academy and her mentor and friend on the road to the red revolution - Zeng Zhi.
Zeng Zhi's original name was Zeng Zhaoxue, and the reason why it was changed to Zeng Zhi was, according to her, to "increase the ambition of our female comrades!" Zeng Zhi's acceptance of enlightened ideas can be seen. Zeng Zhi is Wu Zhonglian's hometown and has close ties with our party.
In 1926, the National Revolutionary Movement aroused a vigorous reaction from the peasants in Hunan, and Wu Zhonglian threw himself into the revolutionary wave without hesitation.
After being influenced by revolutionary culture, Wu Zhonglian was introduced by Zeng Zhi and joined the Communist Party of China in 1927. Soon, in 1928, the South Hunan Uprising broke out, and Wu Zhonglian decisively participated, and went to Jinggangshan with Zeng Zhi and another fellow countryman, Peng Ru.
Wu Zhonglian, Zeng Zhi, and Peng Ru all received higher education and highly identified with the party's revolutionary program and revolutionary goals.
The three of them were very famous in the turbulent revolutionary situation at that time, and were called "the three heroines of Jinggangshan".
Especially Wu Zhonglian, she did clerical work beside Chairman Mao, and the transcription of the famous Gutian Conference was completed by her.
Wu Zhonglian, who was in his prime, met his first husband - Zeng Risan on Jinggang Mountain.
After the Gutian Conference, Zeng Risan, then director of the Political Department of the Red Army, married Wu Zhonglian. Even during the intense revolutionary journey, the two always wanted a child. Soon, their wish came true.
Children on the way to the west
In October 1936, the Red Army triumphantly joined forces. Wu Zhonglian touched the 8-month-old child in his arms, and happily discussed with her husband Zeng Risan that he should rest for a few days to celebrate the victory.
The husband and wife have been sweet and sweet since they got married, but due to the hard work and the fact that both of them are active revolutionaries, they have not been pregnant for a long time.

Wu Zhonglian, who was the deputy director of the Enemy Industry Department of the Red Ninth Army, and her husband Zeng Risan were ordered to march westward, and along the way they waged fierce struggles with the "Ma Jiajun" on the Kuomintang side.
Ma Jiajun's well-equipped and fierce fighting style has always been active in the northwest, and the isolation of the revolutionary base areas is a serious problem for the Red Army soldiers.
As the team marched to the northwestern part of Gansu Province, the Ma Jiajun's presence in the area was so distracted that the villages it passed along the way closed their doors at the sight of the Red Army. This situation made Wu Zhonglian and Zeng Risan frown.
It turned out that Ma Jiajun had been conducting public opinion propaganda against the CCP for a long time in the places controlled by them in Gansu Province, and over time, the people here also felt that the Red Army was an enemy.
In Linze County, Gansu Province, the common people were originally reluctant to let the Red Army enter the village gate, but Wu Zhonglian's conspicuous big belly made the women in the village who were more than half a hundred years old sympathetic.
After the Red Army entered the village, it did not fight and rob like the Ma Jiajun Army, and swept away all the dry food in the village, leaving only the crops that were not growing well for the people, so that they would not starve to death; still less did they rob women, and the faces of the Red Army officers and men were pure and clear, and they looked like a group of good people at a glance.
So in this way, Wu Zhonglian held on to the big belly that was about to give birth, settled down in the house of a common person surnamed Zhang in Linze County, and waited for his child to be born smoothly.

Give the child to the landlord
In January 1937, with the loud cry of the baby, Wu Zhonglian and Zeng Risan's child was born, a baby boy.
At this time, the troops in charge of Wu Zhonglian had been stationed in Linze County for a long time and urgently needed to be transferred.
Therefore, less than ten days after the child was born, Wu Zhonglian and Zeng Risan began to consider the issue of entrusting the child to others.
After knowing the thoughts of the two of them, the midwife took the initiative to introduce them to them: "I only gave birth to the woman of Wang Bodhisattva's family a few days ago! It turned out that there was a well-known landlord in Linze County, named Wang Xuewen.
Although he was a landlord, Wang Xuewen was deeply influenced by progressive ideas since he was a child, and did not exploit the poor people like traditional landlords, but was willing to give charity, often helping those peasants who could not pay the rent and had poor harvests, and was called "Wang Bodhisattva" in the local area.
"Landlord?" Wu Zhonglian was originally very impressed by the material conditions of Wang Xuewen's family, but after hearing about his class identity, he couldn't help but hesitate.
Zeng Risan reported the situation to the organization, and after organizing investigation and research, he thought that he could give it a try, so the two of them knocked on the door of Wang Xuewen's house at night.
The midwife said hello to Wang Xuewen in advance, but because of the sensitive identities of Wu Zhonglian and his family, she did not disclose the identity of the child she wanted Wang Xuewen's family to adopt.
