A new wave of environmental activism is set to sweep through central London, with the recently formed youth group calling for Just Stop Oil, which will be holding a week-long protest and rally starting on 8 April. The Target is Westminster, which aims to raise awareness of urgent climate action and drive major policy change.
According to British media on April 7, Youth Voices is part of a coalition of Umbrella environmental groups that have a clear agenda. They called for an end to the issuance of new coal, gas and drilling licences in the UK, stressing the importance of switching to renewable energy.
In addition, they called for a two-way arms embargo with Israel, linking environmental justice to broader global issues of peace and human rights.
In an interview with The Standard Sunday, a spokesperson for Youth Voices outlined their goals and planned actions for the week. Importantly, they clarified that all members of Youth Voices are at least 18 years old.

As preparations for this week's protests intensify, the Metropolitan Police has been asked to comment on the planned protests. The statement by Youth Voices underscores their frustration with traditional politics and calls for a fundamental shift towards true democracy.
