According to information released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Water Resources of Myanmar based on data from the Ministry of Commerce, in the eight months of the 2023-2024 fiscal year, sesame exports only received more than 55 million US dollars, a decrease of 15% from the same period in the previous fiscal year.

In the 2023-2024 fiscal year from April 1 to December 1, 2023, sesame seeds were exported to the outside world for $55.34 million. During the same period in the 2022-2023 fiscal year, sesame seeds were exported 49,651.69 tons for $65.81 million. In contrast, in the eight months of the 2023-2024 fiscal year, sesame exports decreased by 15,188.31 tons, worth $10.47 million, a decrease of 15.91%.

In the 2023-2024 fiscal year from April 1 to December 1, 2023, among the main 11 goods imported by Myanmar, the import of goods from the agricultural sector was: edible palm oil imports 400616 tonnes worth US$393.06 million, wheat grains 271987 tonnes worth US$107.56 million, and flour 1,292 tonnes worth US$810,000.

Of the other imports, 11,277 tonnes of condensed milk were imported, valued at US$15.87 million, evaporated milk was 12,004 tonnes valued at US$17.75 million, and 7,081 tonnes of milk powder valued at US$20.03 million.

According to intense data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Water Resources, a total of 1136471 tons of fertilizers were imported from April 1 to December 1, 2023.

Myanmar's total trade turnover for the fiscal year 2022-2023 from April 1 to March 31 was US$33.925 billion, compared to US$30.351 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year. In the 2022-2023 fiscal year, the trade volume increased by $3.573 billion compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Exports during the period amounted to US$16.575 billion, an increase of US$1.084 billion over the same period of the previous fiscal year. Imports from abroad amounted to $17.349 billion, an increase of $2.489 billion over the same period last fiscal year.
