A serendipitous excursion,

The beautiful scenery of Anji Lingfeng Resort

It made Pang Xi have the idea of wanting to live here.

Hidden in the city, hidden in the garden,

For the founder and designer of Xishe Feng Xi

It was a bonus.

A new home for Punjo

Just halfway up the hill not far from the core scenic spot,

Masson pines and rolling mountains everywhere

It makes them feel as if they are living in an ink painting.

Pang Xi and his wife are happy to be quiet,

But my son, who is in middle school, is particularly passionate about equestrianism and cycling.

And this winter can ski, spring and autumn can ride, horseback riding,

A scenic spot that can be rafted in summer and camped all year round,

Definitely a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.

Pang Xi also laughed at himself and his wife

It is a "house couple" who live on the edge of the sports base.

In the experience of his own life,

Maybe it's because I moved many times when I was studying

Let him put his family as extremely important.

In this home,

厐喜 is clever by design

With years of furniture from all over the world,

Stuffed this home, where I only lived for half a year,

Let this home be more "gathered",

Family members can also "shout and hear".

Founder of PXD-Joy Design Consultants Co., Ltd., director of the Interior Design Branch of the Architectural Society of China (IID-ASC). In the design, he tries to abstract and extract traditional Chinese elements, and transforms Chinese tonality, charm, artistic conception and subtlety into contemporary attributes. In 2016, Xishe (Suzhou) was selected for the 20th Andrew Martin International Interior Design Awards.

The work area is filled with a collection of fireplaces and ink paintings, as well as vintage firewood stands and sofas from different parts of the world. The corridor is from the hands of Luchuan Iron in Yingkou, Liaoning, and the small objects that can be seen have their own shapes, none of which are the same.

At the beginning of 2024, Anji was particularly cold, and there were several heavy snowfalls in the mountains. The fluttering snowflakes fall on the courtyard and balcony, which is extremely quiet. In the room, a vinyl disc played blues jazz, a firewood was lit, and he sat in an armchair by the window, smoking cigars and drinking wine while watching the snow fall on the Anji white tea planted at the end of last year. He wanted to work a little longer, but before he knew it, he fell asleep. "I'm someone who rarely needs to take a nap, life is fast-paced, and I can remember never being as comfortable as I was when I lived at Anji's house. ”

As a designer, Feng Xi is well known for his reputation as the founder of Xishe for designing many oriental elegant mansions, and he has always been good at integrating the classical aesthetic elements of Jiangnan courtyards and gardens into contemporary spaces. Hidden in the city, hidden in the garden, are his familiar living conditions and design techniques. However, in his own life experience, although he moved many times when he was studying, he never lived in the mountains.

Standing on the stairs on the basement floor, you can see the two Tenmu Masson pines in the yard. Antique floor lamps, Taihu stone ornaments and trees and stones in the courtyard constitute a classical and modern spiritual scene.

Entering from the main entrance, the text panels and ornaments that welcome guests at the entrance naturally lead to the basement floor to which the staircase leads on the left. Perhaps because it is at the same height as the outdoor courtyard, it is more like the main space for entertaining guests. This floor is naturally divided into three sections, and a low cabinet at the corner of the staircase is filled with Ponxi's collection of whisky of different vintages and flavours. The Swiss Desede Hills Terraced Sofa on the side echoes the cascading peaks outside the window, the huge oil painting on the wall is the work of the artist's friend Liu Ke, and the limited cross-border art carpet by the artist Liu Ye is underfoot, and the vinyl record player and Bluetooth speaker are sparsely placed along the window.

The courtyard in the other perspective is like the design of a classical garden, changing the visual perception with the change of seasons.

Since his childhood, the home in the memory of designer Pang Xi is a path of migration: his father's Changshu and his mother's Guizhou, Huainan when he was growing up, Hangzhou when he was in school, and then from Hangzhou to Suzhou and back, he seems to have long adapted to live and work in the changing external environment and the flow of time. "But I never thought that I would live in Anji's mountains, nor did I think that people like me would live in a place surrounded by sports bases. ”

This serendipitous opportunity happened in 2021. Because of his work, he often travels back and forth between Hangzhou and Anji. The first time I entered the Anji Lingfeng Resort where the community is located, I stood on the slope of the mountain with my wife who was still the foundation, and as far as the eye could see, there were beautiful and elegant Tianmu masson pines and ink paintings.

Pang Xi said that each floor of this home ensures that there is wine, tea, and chairs for people to sit comfortably. A low cabinet at the corner of the staircase on the basement floor houses his collection of whiskies of different vintages and flavours. The small whisky case is from the Louis Vuitton trunk collection.

The alcove left above the wall between the leisure area and the work area on the basement floor was originally used for storage, but Pang Xi and his wife used ancient flowers, dried flowers and crane ornaments to make people look up and have an elegant view.

Pang Xi and his wife are both happy and quiet, and their son, who is in middle school, loves equestrianism and cycling. The surrounding area of this community can be said to be a paradise for outdoor sports enthusiasts, skiing in winter, cycling and horseback riding in spring and autumn, rafting in summer, and a unique camping environment throughout the year. After getting the support of his family, how to design Anji's home was naturally handed over to him. "From the very beginning, I saw this place as a home for everyday life, and you could say that it wasn't very 'fun' and not so oriental. "Maybe in the past, my designs would be regarded as Song-style, Ming-style, or more oriental, but as I grew older, I found that I didn't like to stick to a certain symbolic style, and freedom became more important." ”

Perhaps it was the migration of migratory birds during her growth that made Pang Xi regard her family as extremely important, and a house that was too large always felt that it was not "gathering" enough. "When you get home, that's just how much space you really need. "Pang Xi still feels that he still likes to live in a house of the right size, with his family by his side," he said. ”

Built along the hillside, the south-facing balcony on the first floor has an open view of the distant mountains, and the designer has placed pine trees harvested during his travels in Yunnan on the balcony, adding an exotic attitude to the local mountain scenery.

The built-in bookcase next to the hallway draws attention to the reading area, and the entrance to the son's bedroom is cleverly hidden on one side of the stand-up.

Anji's home, with an overall area of about 760 square meters, is about twice the outdoor area and the indoor area. The first floor is used for the living room, dining room, balcony and son's room, the basement floor is for the studio and living room, and the second floor is the terrace and bedroom.

The staircase leading to the bedroom on the second floor, with every corner and handrail line designed by Punxi, has also been transformed into a modern installation art that connects the three floors.

The master bedroom has a picture window on one wall, and a custom cabinet is a collection of works by Japanese artist Yoshio Sekine from the Tokyo Gallery. The bathroom in the master bedroom is also dominated by dark colors.

Separated by a wall is the work area set aside by the designer, the computer desk and the antique wardrobe bookcase occupy a corner of the space, and the central area surrounds the fireplace to create another gathering area, looking up at the Jiangnan scenery framed by the "picture frame".

The tatami space becomes more of a reading space for the owner, like a trip back to his childhood surrounded by cherished books and chessboards. THE MALLE VESTIAIRE COAT CASE IS FROM THE LOUIS VUITTON TRUNK COLLECTION.

Hidden in the depths of the space, the third section is a tatami room and guest bedroom, in which Pang Xi also likes to read and sit, "I like to take a large-format book like "The Complete Works of Song Paintings" to read here, and it can be opened. ”

Most of the objects placed in the indoor living room are split from pairs of collections, and the three-dimensional picture screen composed of seven utensils embodies the designer's design thinking in recent years.

This floor houses a considerable part of the collection of Fengxi. Every object in the house is the result of his careful adjustment of position and placement. "I dismantled the original collection or put it in pairs, including wood carved lions from Japan, lamps by local designer WOU, oil paintings by artist friend Lei Hong, a medieval goose-shaped incense burner, and a spherical stool made of incense cloud yarn, etc., which are also my attempts to integrate works from different eras and styles. Obviously, he has put his breakthrough into the boundaries of design style in this life field.

The designer's fetishes and details are on full display in the Capricorn and Virgo traits of Feng Xi. Chaos and order is the state he likes, and the magic is that this home, which has lived in less than half a year, has a sense of relaxation like a sense of relaxation after years of living because it is full of old collections and traces of life, allowing everyone who enters to sit and lie down at will without the slightest restraint.

Kitchen area on the ground floor

The common area on the ground floor is divided into two areas by the Baxter sofa. The kitchen area is mostly decorated with the lady's collection, all kinds of ceramic and crystal tea sets and tableware.

Outdoor garden

The layout of the outdoor garden is a garden design that he knows very well, and he doesn't even draw pictures in advance, but adjusts the stones he likes on the spot after transporting them, which makes the whole garden appear unpolished and wild. The stone garden is dotted with green hills. The transplanted black tree and osmanthus set off the emerald green of the bamboo forest in the mountains on the side. After a while, patches of wild rhododendrons will bloom among the trees. At the end of the yard, next to the Masson pine, an Anji white tea garden is planted.

There is a sunken rest area in the courtyard, where Pang Xi and his friends often barbecue and feel the fun of camping at home. The floral glass cold water bottle and TWIST glass set are part of Louis Vuitton's Objets Nomades travel home collection.

When the weather is good, the family sits around the sunken oven and barbecues, drinking tea and looking at the mountains in the distance, as if the family has come out on a long trip again, and returns to the time when they drove from Hangzhou to Tibet a few years ago.

When I moved to Anji to live for a long time, the daily life in the mountains was always accompanied by the charm of nature. Every spring when the plant sprouts, you can see those leaves burst out little by little and slowly grow. In autumn, the black trees in the yard begin to turn red little by little, and white fruits emerge. At this time, sitting next to me, the wind blows, and the fallen leaves fly with the aroma of the sun. Pang Xi is aware of the unbridled nature side of his heart, and this life in the mountains also feeds back his design - the elephant is invisible, so it can be at ease.
