  The Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland and UCD Malaysia Campus are established by two leading universities in Ireland – the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (RCSI) and University College Dublin (UCD). Formerly known as Penang Medical College, in April 2018, the Ministry of Higher Education granted the Penang Medical College the status of a foreign university branch and renamed it the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland and University College Dublin Malaysia (RUMC).

  RUMC specialises in medicine and offers a 5-year undergraduate medical program with the first two and a half years of studying in Ireland and returning to Malaysia for clinical study for the second two and a half years. Graduates receive a medical degree from the National University of Ireland (NUI), which is accredited by the Medical Council of Ireland (IMC) and the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
