Oil and gas caprock is a formation that stores oil and gas, and finding the caprock is one of the basic geological conditions for finding oil and gas resources. It is like a "quilt" or "pot lid" to firmly cover the oil and gas, to open the "treasure house" of oil and gas resources, the cap layer needs to be drilled through.
This caprock is hard at the top and soft at the bottom, and the lithology changes frequently, making it extremely difficult to drill. In order to overcome this set of caprock layers, the technicians established a lithology combination model through the comparison of macro and micro strata, accurately selected drilling tools such as drill bits, and lasted more than 10 days to drill through this set of formations covering oil and gas, which marked the beginning of the drill bit to drill into the formations that may be rich in oil and gas at a depth of 10,000 meters.
At present, the frequency of underground rock analysis and testing is encrypted on the well, and the drilling parameters are adjusted in time according to the rock information to ensure the safe and stable drilling of the well in the 10,000-meter formation. At present, the well has been drilled to 9,920 meters, and the drilling depth is about to exceed 10,000 meters.
The difficulty of drilling 10,000 meters of formation from the drill bit The rock under the 10,000 hectares of quicksand has been deposited for hundreds of millions of years, and in order to pry an oil and gas channel between the rocks, it is necessary to overcome extremely high temperature, extreme pressure and extremely high in-situ stress. How difficult is it to drill this 10,000-meter-deep well?
Technicians told reporters that the more the drill bit drills deep into the formation, the more the rock is pressed, and the greater the pressure of the drill bit from all directions, and at the same time, the temperature is getting higher and higher, and the wear and tear consumption of the drill bit will be more and more.
The reporter learned that it took only 5 months for the deep Taco 1 well to be drilled from the surface to a depth of 8,000 meters, and it took three and a half months to go from 8,000 meters to 10,000 meters into the ground. As the depth of drilling increases, the difficulty of drilling also increases exponentially.
Domestic diamond drill bits become 10,000 meters of rock breaking "artifact" There is a saying in the oil industry that "the drill bit is not enough, the oil and gas do not rise", and the drill bit is even more so when it enters the ground for 10,000 meters. In recent years, as the mainland's oil and gas exploration has increasingly marched into ultra-deep formations, a large number of domestic diamond drill bits for various underground formations have been developed and manufactured, becoming a "magic weapon" for conquering 10,000-meter formations.
As of 2 p.m. on February 14, the latest diamond drill bit has been drilling underground for 54 hours, and the drilling parameters are stable. The new drill bit is a 7-blade diamond drill bit, which has the advantage of increased impact resistance.
In the first 10,000-meter-deep well in the mainland, the drill bits for overcoming difficult formations are all independently developed. This batch of diamond drill bits not only has strong wear resistance, but also has good toughness and impact resistance. At present, the drill bit in use can withstand a pressure of 80,000 atmospheres, which is equivalent to the pressure of eight 10-ton elephants standing on a fingernail.
