In fact, there are now five countries that are the focus of Taiwan's current attention.
The first was Eswatini, the only friend in Africa. However, Eswatini is basically more difficult to dig. The third is Paraguay, which is Taiwan's only friend in South America. Paraguay is the fourth or sixth soybean producer in the world, and they have always wanted to sell their soybeans, beef, and many agricultural products to the mainland, and now they have no formal diplomatic relations with the mainland, so they have to go through middlemen, but the middlemen have a price difference, and the loss for Paraguay is quite large. Their peasants have always advocated the establishment of diplomatic relations with the mainland, and as far as Taiwan is concerned, with the presence of Paraguay, the leader of the Taiwan region can transit through the United States. The main purpose of visiting Paraguay is to be able to transit through the United States to receive hospitality from the Americans, to be able to meet members of the US Congress, or to meet anyone. If Paraguay is broken, there will be one less chance of transiting through the United States, so Paraguay is now also a key caretaker.
The fourth is Guatemala, Guatemala was also rumored to have unstable relations some time ago, and the president of the country also said that he would not rule out the establishment of diplomatic relations with the mainland, so Wu Zhaoxie, head of Taiwan's foreign affairs department, also rushed to Guatemala to pull relations. After all, Taiwan has the most friends in Central and South America, but few of the remaining ones are very small.
The fifth is Haiti, because the president was assassinated, and before that, he was dragged to Taiwan, and some people fled to Taiwan's jurisdiction, so Haiti is now very chaotic in the country.
