Viceroyalty of Paraguay (1782-1811)
The Viceroyalty of Paraguay (Spanish: Intendencia del Paraguay), also known as the Viceroyalty of Asunción (Spanish: Intendencia de Asunción), is an administrative-territorial unit that is part of the Viceroyalty of Río de Río de Asunción. It was created on January 28, 1782 and ended after the May Revolution of 1811. In 1811, the last viceroy, Bernardo de Velasco, was overthrown by a group of revolutionaries, marking the end of Spanish rule in these lands and the beginning of events that led to the independence of Paraguay.

The coat of arms of Paraguay is circular. The current version, which was introduced in 2013, features a yellow five-pointed star in the center on a blue circle, surrounded by palm and olive branches. The name of the country is written on the red circle. The last ring is black.
