Recently, there have been many incidents in China's "diplomatic relations" in the Taiwan region, and in particular, many foreign relations have undergone changes. It's just not clear what the future direction will be?

There is not much left! "Diplomatic relations" in China's Taiwan region have continued to have accidents, and the Vatican's attitude has changed into a trend

Changes in diplomatic relations around the world are a general trend. As a matter of fact, there are still countries and regions that continue to maintain foreign relations with the Taiwan region, that is, some small countries in the Pacific and some countries in South America. The reason why they maintain relations with Taiwan is to gain benefits, so they often ask the Central Taiwan region for something. In this case, if the mainland wants to compete with the Taiwan region in this regard, it can suppress the Taiwan region with the mainland's current resources. Therefore, in legal terms, this whole general trend is that the world also recognizes one China.

In terms of economic competition, Taiwan is also inferior to the mainland. It should be said that there will only be fewer and fewer countries and regions that continue to maintain diplomatic relations with Taiwan, such as the Vatican. The Vatican and Chinese mainland had previously negotiated diplomatic normalization, but they were stuck on a very important issue, namely, how to deal with the relationship between the Catholic Church in Chinese mainland and the Vatican Religious Tribunal. The Holy See hopes that the Catholic organizations in Chinese mainland will be completely submissive to it, and Chinese mainland will have difficulty solving problems in the short term. Therefore, the relationship between the Holy See and the Taiwan region may be able to continue for some time, but the Holy See alone cannot stabilize the international status of the Taiwan region. In addition, the attitude of the Holy See towards the Taiwan region is also very indifferent, maintaining only one embassy, and sending chargé d'affaires temporarily.

Now the Holy See divides China into two dioceses: the Diocese of Taiwan and the Diocese of the Mainland. There is no question of severing diplomatic relations, only of which diocese to move their embassy to. The Pope's attitude is very obvious, for them it is not a formal diplomatic relationship with them, but a relationship between the Pope and the diocese. So they are not called severing diplomatic relations, but relocating. At present, Chinese mainland presumably follows the Vietnamese model, in which the power to appoint bishops is announced by the Pope. That is to say, Chinese mainland will first select a few candidates, and there are those that the mainland likes, and the Holy See can also accept them.

In fact, the dispute between the two sides is over whether a school can be established. Compared with the 200,000 Catholics in Taiwan, tens of millions of Catholics in Chinese mainland are more important to the Holy See, and they will naturally make corresponding choices. In other words, the degree of understanding between the Holy See and Chinese mainland will change, and the relationship between the two sides will change sooner or later.
