Kishida, Duterte, and Putin's Three Thoughts on China-US-Russia Relations With the deepening of globalization, countries around the world are becoming increasingly interconnected.
However, three recent events have aroused widespread concern in the international community. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida praised U.S. leadership, former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte accused the U.S. of filling the South China Sea with squabbles, and Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his willingness to start talks on Ukraine. These three events have undoubtedly brought new challenges and reflections to Sino-US relations and Sino-Russian relations.
First of all, Fumio Kishida's remarks highlight the special nature of the Japan-US relationship.
As an important ally of the United States in Asia, Japan is also seeking closer military and political ties with the United States while safeguarding its own security interests. However, such a statement could exacerbate Asian countries' concerns about tensions between Japan and the United States, raising more regional security concerns. Putin expressed his readiness to engage in dialogue on this issue, which undoubtedly provides the possibility of resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
However, given the complexity of history and the sensitivity of reality, dialogue between Russia and Ukraine will not be easy. In this process, China can play a constructive role in creating favorable conditions for promoting dialogue between the two sides.
