Feng Lun: Only by holding on to it can there be a way out

Feng Lun X Zhou Hongyi X Wang Shi X Cheng Qian: 2024, there is a way out if you hold on

Good evening, everyone!

Once a year, come here to talk and chat. In previous years, the theme of the "Wind Horse and Ox Year-end Show" was "Speak Normally", and today we still have to speak normally. I also hope that when I speak normally, I can share some real observations with you.

Recently, everyone has been chasing a TV series, "Flowers", and I am also chasing it. In the process of chasing the drama, I saw a report in "Southern Weekly" mentioning that some of the "uncle" in "Flowers" are related to "Savage Growth". Of course, I know that, because we talked to each other during the writing of the script.

Feng Lun's "Savage Growth" is an important ideological source of "Uncle" in the TV series "Flowers", and it is also the theoretical basis for "Uncle" to guide Ah Bao to make money. ——Southern Weekly<繁花>, "Ten Years of Revisiting Jin Yucheng: I Just Want to Write a Little About Shanghai as I Know It"

This reminds me of many scenes when I first started my business in the early 90s of the last century, and it was precisely because I experienced one unusual thing after another, solved one problem after another, and at the same time had countless puzzles, that I would have those insights in "Savage Growth".

I also watched a movie recently, "The Three Teams". When I watched "The Three Teams", I was also very impressed. When we first started our business, we encountered the same problems as the three brothers. Several of us have worked in the system, and all of a sudden we all came out of the system, wandered into the rivers and lakes, and started to fend for ourselves. When we got together to form a team, our entrepreneurial story began. Just as the brothers of the three teams had a common goal (to catch the fugitives), we also pursued the same dream, so we started the company.

From the era of savage growth, bumps and bumps meet today. What does it depend on, is to boil, to persevere, to hold on.

How can you hold on?

In fact, when encountering difficulties, the most important thing is to have a direction and know where you are going.

I found a very interesting phenomenon, in recent years, many people have been doing four things in turn once they have a problem and are confused. First things first, incense. If incense doesn't solve the problem, go to the master. Before the master solved the problem, he begged for experts, begged and begged, and found that experts couldn't do it. In the end, I found my brothers and girlfriends to drink and chat. Chatting and chatting, maybe there are a sentence or two that touches you, and it can be regarded as finding an explanation and getting some comfort.

That's why I say that when people encounter confusion, the first thing they need to do is to ask for an explanation, to have a new understanding of their own affairs. For example, more than 30 years ago, several of us suddenly changed from being inside the system to idlers, miscellaneous people, and unemployed people outside the system. We'll have to explain this. Once you have an explanation, start looking for directions. Where am I today and where am I going?

After finding the direction, we formed the mission and values of the early stage of entrepreneurship: "Take the world as our own responsibility, take the enterprise as the foundation, create wealth, and improve ourselves." We were all very young, with an average age of 26. Although it was a group of young people, they were talking big words. Even if others sound like big words, the people who say big things mean it.

If you put it another way, in fact, it means that you must do a good business and toss well.

With this direction in mind, we naturally became partners with each other and formed our "Big Three".

This "three teams" continue to this day.

This is a group photo of us together on New Year's Day this year

This story is more than thirty years old today. When we got together on New Year's Day, we were all very happy. Of course, as you know, the real estate industry is not doing well now, most of us are still doing real estate, we are still facing some difficulties, but our direction has not changed, our confidence in future development has not been lost, and we are still working hard together.

Therefore, when we encounter confusion and unexpected situations in life, the first thing we need to do is to find the direction, and the second thing is to find someone to walk with.

What else is there to find direction and partners?

Some time ago, I went to New York and met the founder of a quasi-public company in New York. His story is touching.

He is a native of Changle, Fujian. When he was 4 years old, his parents divorced and abandoned him. Relying on the help of relatives in the village, he grew up. At that time, there were many people in their village who "walked the line", trekked through mountains and rivers, and finally arrived in the United States. He also saw "walking the line" as a way out. borrowed hundreds of thousands of dollars from relatives and friends, took 300,000 yuan to the head of the snake, and then went to the United States with great difficulty. After being locked up for more than a year, he began to work in the dark, change his identity, start a business, and 17 years later, his company will soon be listed on the NASDAQ.

Along the way, although he encountered a lot of difficulties, he continued to break through his cognition.

He told me that the biggest difference between him and the same group of people who "walked the line" was that he could still turn a few pages. Before "walking the line", because he had no money, he often went to Xinhua Bookstore to read books. Later, in Chinatown, even if he was delivering food, he was always looking for time to read. From the book, he saw a different world.

When he succeeded in his career, he still did not stop learning Xi, reading, communicating with entrepreneurs, etc., using various ways to improve his cognition.

He told me that the three partners who "walked the line" and started the business with him were ready to call it a day and go home, planning to buy a house and collect rent. Only he is still insisting, in his eyes, the company can continue to move forward and do bigger, because he has a bigger world in his heart, and these are brought to him by the continuous breakthrough cognition.

Therefore, when a person is in a predicament and feels that he cannot bear it, it is very important to change his concept and cognition. There are many people who stay away after encountering difficulties, and then complain, thinking that their father is not good, their mother is not helping, and their brothers and sisters are not close...... This kind of cognition will only make them fall into a predicament and not be able to get out.

In addition to finding directions, finding teams, and breaking through cognition, what else should we rely on? All problems, face them positively, even if they die, people must pounce forward.

A while ago, an entrepreneur approached me and wanted to talk to me about real estate. They all said that the real estate industry has not been particularly good recently, but as soon as he saw me, he told me, "My company is very small now, but in the future, I want to be the Vanke of Africa." 」

As soon as I heard it, he actually had such ambitions. I chatted with him seriously for a day, and then took him to Changsha Yuanda to visit and see the industrial housing that Yuanda was doing.

This entrepreneur is a post-80s generation. His two older brothers were good students from an early age and later went to college. But he didn't study hard Xi since he was a child, and once, his father got angry and said to him, "Then you don't study, go to Shaolin Temple." 」

In the three years of martial arts school, in addition to Xi martial arts, his biggest gain, first, is diligence, second, no fear, third, face the problem head-on, rush forward.

In 2004, after graduating from the martial arts school, he went to the African country of Senegal to join his eldest brother. At that time, his eldest brother and father-in-law opened a small shop of more than ten square meters in Senegal, doing import and export trade. He worked as a clerk in his brother's shop.

A few years later, he heard from a friend that Côte d'Ivoire, also in West Africa, had ended the war and entered a period of peaceful development. He felt that the opportunity had come, and he ran to Côte d'Ivoire alone.

What to do in Côte d'Ivoire?

At the beginning, the place was still a bit chaotic, and the local Chinese businessmen were always bullied by the locals in terms of customs and taxation. He has kung fu and is not afraid of things, and in the past few years in Senegal, after passing the language barrier, he often helped some local Chinese businessmen solve customs, taxation and other problems.

After that, he set up a customs clearance company, and some Chinese businessmen simply attached their shops to his company's name and did business with peace of mind, while he acted as an agent for customs and taxation. He charges slightly more than the local customs clearance company, but he is trustworthy and makes everyone feel secure.

In this way, he accumulated little by little, and later built a warehouse, and did logistics, and when the logistics became bigger and made money, he wanted to build a house.

He had heard of Vanke in China, so he had a dream of becoming Vanke in Africa, so he started building houses.

The building has been completed.

Feng Lun X Zhou Hongyi X Wang Shi X Cheng Qian: 2024, there is a way out if you hold on

Their company's annual meeting. This hotel is beautiful and he built it too.

This is the story of starting a business in Africa. I saw one thing from him: mindset matters. If you want to hold on, you must have an enterprising mentality, even if it is a very painful experience, you must face it positively, only in this way will there be greater resilience in the end.

So, we say that we have to carry and hold on, is it complicated? Isn't it complicated? Is it hard to do? Not hard to do. As long as you are positive, you face the problem, dare to solve the problem, in fact, you can do it. I'm afraid that if you don't look for a direction, don't look for a partner, and don't break through your cognition, you will eventually go around when you encounter problems, so you can only fall into the pit.

In short, the so-called holding on means "starting from chance, suddenly falling into confusion, falling into difficulties, being born with attitude, and finally choosing." 」

It started by chance, that is, a lot of troubles came suddenly. Suddenly unemployed, suddenly there was an earthquake, suddenly overturned, suddenly got sick...... These things will not be greeted in advance. When encountering suddenly, many people will be confused, and then fall into confusion, deviate from the normal track, fall into a trap, and even fall into a pit.

Born with attitude, that is, if you want to survive, you must have a positive attitude to face sudden bad things and pitfalls in front of you. It may be very difficult to climb out of the pit, but if you work hard, there is always a chance to get out.

Finally choose, that is, when climbing the pit, your direction, your partner, your cognition, and your attitude all come from your choice. Whether you climb out of the pit, or lie flat in the pit, slump, what kind of choice you make, what kind of life you will have.

I think that there are still many goals in our life that are worth looking for, and the future is also worth tossing and developing, and there are too many possibilities in life. I told Wang Shi just now that you are 73 years old and still working hard to start a business, which touched me very much. He showed us very well the positive attitude and possibilities of a struggler.

In the end, it is still the same sentence, only by holding on can there be a way out and a future. Thank you.

Zhou Hongyi: 10 trends of large models

Feng Lun X Zhou Hongyi X Wang Shi X Cheng Qian: 2024, there is a way out if you hold on

Today's theme is "Hold on to the Future", and I think one of the ways to "stand up" is to rely on innovation.

There are many sayings about the uncertainty of the economic cycle, demographic dividend, etc., especially the New Year's Eve speeches on the Internet in the past two years, many self-media are creating anxiety, and they are also harvesting traffic, which makes everyone very anxious. In fact, it is useless to be anxious in business, because your anxiety doesn't seem to change anything.

I think the only thing I can do is to innovate, and I feel very emotional. Feng Lun said that he went to the United States some time ago, and I also went to the United States, but I did not go to meet the personnel who "walked the line", nor did I go "to the line", I took advantage of the east wind of APEC. Then I visited a lot of peers in the United States, a lot of investors, and some startups, and then I was very emotional.

And I asked them, what to do? And they replied very seriously, "Artificial intelligence is the way to innovate."

The U.S. investment community sees the AI model as a PC (personal computer) in the 1980s and the Internet in 1995, so they see this as an opportunity at the level of the industrial revolution. What was the concept of the Internet in 1995? The Netscape browser had just been invented, and Google was founded in 1998.

They feel that there is a great opportunity for artificial intelligence, and they have a point of view that once the United States forms its own advantage in artificial intelligence, it will be a dimensionality reduction blow to other countries and global competition.

If you don't innovate, you will always try to solve the contradictions in a stock market, and there may be many contradictions that are really difficult to solve. Only through this kind of industrial revolution-level innovation can a larger incremental market be created, then many contradictions may be solved.

"Currency War" says how Japan's GDP approached the United States back then, how the United States began to suppress Japan, and finally signed a Plaza Agreement, and then Japan collapsed. It seems that there are such legends on the Internet, but I think it is a little magical that a country was defeated by an agreement.

On the other hand, why did Japan have a "lost 30 years"? From the perspective of my technology and discussions with the U.S. investment community, Japan clearly missed out on the two major opportunities of computers and the Internet. Silicon Valley in the United States seems to have successfully upgraded itself in the development of computer business, especially the development of the Internet.

In fact, I was supposed to talk about security, and I should have talked about security, so why do I talk more about artificial intelligence now? I especially hope that in our country, whether it is the upper level of government officials, the middle to our entrepreneurs, to many small partner entrepreneurs, I will say that artificial intelligence is definitely the biggest opportunity that our generation encounters today.

A lot of people are talking about lying flat, and I think this view is very narrow, just like when there were a few years in Silicon Valley when there was really no innovation, they also sighed. A few years ago, I asked my friends in Silicon Valley that the smarter ones were all doing cryptocurrencies, and they were all mixing in the currency circle and the chain circle, but suddenly the opportunity of artificial intelligence came, and all of them immediately felt like a fish in water.

I think my generation is lucky to have caught up with the good times, especially since I have caught up with the era of computers and the Internet. For many of you, if you don't have the opportunity of artificial intelligence, it may be really difficult for you to become the next Jack Ma, the next Ma Huateng, and the next Ding Lei or Zhang Yiming. But God has eyes, and the opportunity of artificial intelligence soon came.

What does the industrial revolution mean? Just like the reshuffle of the automobile industry by artificial intelligence, you may not think Tesla was doing anything five years ago, but now you may buy a car again, and you no longer consider the problem of gasoline vehicles, and this is the opportunity brought by the revolution.

We are now living in a peaceful and prosperous era, but in the IT industry, in the field of digitalization, I think it is actually a "troubled era", every few years a new technology rises, a new standard comes out, and only in troubled times can heroes come out, if the world remains unchanged, it is indeed not a chance for everyone.

So I'm a bit more optimistic about today, and I think AI will bring opportunities for reshuffling. If you don't have the blessing of new technology and new revolutionary ideas today, for example, if you do a Douyin, a Weibo, or a search today, you can't compete with the giants, and you really don't have a chance.

But when artificial intelligence comes, just like when PCs, the Internet, and the mobile Internet came, many things have been reshaped. This is a very important point that I would like to share with you today.

We say we all have to "hold on", and I think the most important thing is innovation. This sentence should be implemented, my point of view is that I hope everyone will pay attention to the biggest breakthrough in artificial intelligence in 2023, that is, the large language model has achieved real artificial intelligence, and has come to the inflection point of general artificial intelligence, and it is rushing in the direction of strong artificial intelligence, and it is rushing all the way fast, and the technological development is far ahead.

When a reporter asked me how I felt last year, I said that I was "living like a year". I said no, living like a year means that since the release of ChatGPT in 2023, every day in various fields is equivalent to the experience gained in every previous year.

You can look at AIGC, that is, AI-generated content, look at Wensheng diagrams, take a look at natural language description generated videos, what it looked like at the beginning of last year, what it looked like at the end of last year, and you will really feel that this industrial revolution is not only the largest industrial revolution in human history, but also probably the fastest industrial revolution.

So I talked to a lot of people in the United States, and I just had a feeling that if you go to meet the entrepreneur again, if there is no concept of AI in the startup project, no one will vote for you. The investors I've met have said I'm going to invest, and I'm only going to invest in things related to AI.

Don't be fooled by some public opinion on the Internet, because some people talk endlessly, talk about opposite topics, and argue there every day that this artificial intelligence is fake and artificial retarded. I assure you, I've been making products for 20 years, and this time it's really artificial intelligence.

There are also many people talking about silicon-based organisms. When it comes to silicon-based creatures, everyone here has the right to speak, because we all grew up watching science fiction novels and American Hollywood movies, and we have all watched "The Matrix" and "Terminator 2". So many people say that artificial intelligence is so dangerous, it is better not to develop it, and not to open Pandora's box like an atomic bomb.

In fact, many Americans say the same thing, but the body is very honest. For example, Google's chief scientist, called the "father of deep learning Xi", he published a lot of concerns about artificial intelligence, and after posting, he left his job to start a business and founded an artificial intelligence company.

Elon Musk has asked the U.S. government to strictly manage the development of artificial intelligence, meaning that the research and development progress of peers is too advanced, and it should be delayed a little. He went to speak again today, saying that artificial intelligence is dangerous, but what he did himself was to buy 10,000 cards (GPUs), spend hundreds of millions of dollars, and then dig up more than a dozen OpenAI people, he trained Twitter at the fastest speed, now called X.com, and he made a large model himself.

And in the future, he envisions that every Tesla car will have a large model on it, and Tesla cars will be powered by artificial intelligence in the future. Why do we say that new energy vehicles are supercomputers with four wheels, and the future may be a super model with four wheels, so many Tesla cars will be connected to each other and become a distributed energy center. So in the U.S., the people I met were optimistic.

Domestically, I'm also advocating big models everywhere. I think the big model may mean different opportunities for our country, for our industry, for everyone here, and for entrepreneurs.

Today, I don't have much time, so I'd like to talk about 10 trends in large models. In fact, I hated the people who summarized the trend the most, and there were many people who stood in God's perspective and wanted to show everyone the way. But I suddenly found that the development of the big model is too new, and everyone is very confused, so I said the top ten predictions, the top ten trends, and by next year no one will remember them, and no one will come to calculate this account with me, in case unfortunately I say the opposite of each trend, it proves that I know the correct answer, but I don't want to tell you.

First, I don't think the big model is the operating system. The world's mobile phone operating systems are Hongmeng, iOS, and Android, and I think the large model is more like the PC of the year, which will be ubiquitous in the future and become the standard configuration of the entire enterprise digitalization and government digitalization.

At that time, the creator of the supercomputer once asserted that the world needed five computers. As a result, reality mercilessly slapped them in the face. How many computers are there today? All of you here, you have at least one computer at home, a laptop in your office, and you still have a computer in your pocket, because your mobile phone is too.

So I don't think the big model will be monopolized, and I won't say that the whole Chinese people and the people of the world use the big model of one company. I think big models will be everywhere.

The second is the outbreak of open source large models. The earliest large models were closed-source, and when closed-source first came out, we looked at what OpenAI had done, and we felt that this was the "Manhattan Project", and the Americans built the atomic bomb. Later, I found out that as soon as people open source, science and technology will progress, so we should be grateful for open source. Now there are many open source models in China, which are based on international open source models.

So after the explosion of open source, the large model instantly turned from an atomic bomb into a cabbage. At the beginning of this year, someone started a business and wanted to build an atomic bomb, and by the end of the year, they found that they were in the tea egg business.

Roughly speaking, everyone can afford to use the large model in the future, because it is already rotten on the street. The contradiction in the future is no longer what about the large model itself, but who can use the large model to combine its own business and scenarios, and can train it to produce the functions it needs.

On the one hand, many companies are now thinking about how to make the model bigger and bigger, from hundreds of billions of parameters to trillions of parameters. But now there is a trend: make the model smaller, and the effect can be similar on the billion, billion, or no more than 10 billion models.

There are two prerequisites for the model to be small, one is that the model is professional. The model has to be able to do anything, it really has to be huge, but if this model is to help me write something, or help me do some translation, then my professional model can be small, and there is another advantage of being small, that is, it can run on more terminals, which is also in line with the first point I said: large models will be everywhere.

Like the CPU pushed by Qualcomm last year, and the CPU pushed by Apple, it already means that on mobile phones, pads, and computers, this kind of large model with small parameters can already run. So I added a prediction: this year, the big model will definitely be on the bus. Because with a large model in the car, the conversation assistant in your car won't act like an idiot and really help you solve a lot of problems.

The fourth prediction, I think the enterprise market of large models will rise in 2024.

Everyone has a vague feeling about the large model, and after the first excitement is over, you have to ask what this thing can do. Although everyone is showing off their big model results every day, saying that you see my brain teaser, mine can solve primary school Olympiad problems, mine can write hidden head poems, and after playing too much, I find that it has nothing to do with your business.

So in 2024, it's no longer about competing with these "tricks and tricks" of big models, I think it's really in the to B business, and in China, I think the enterprise market will rise. The large model should take the direction of depth, industrialization, verticalization and deep customization.

The fifth slightly biased technology,OpenAI has been making up for it recently,That is, when I just had a large model,Everyone thinks that the chatbot is indeed a simple human-machine interface,You will find that the chatbot is not very problematic,Just chat with you,At most, it is a PUA expert。 So in 2024, a new concept is called "Agent Architecture".

Everyone must pay attention to the concept of agent, which is called agent framework in English. Therefore, this year, whether you are doing business to C or doing enterprise-level applications, the large model must be combined with the agent framework to really make the large model grow and make the large model fully connected with your business system and the entire Internet.

Sixth, in fact, many people are asking me what killer applications do large models have on the consumer side? I thought about it and said, there are some virtual girlfriends abroad who can simulate your girlfriend, and you dare to say anything. I don't know what killer apps China will produce yet, but I think it will come out in 2024.

It's interesting to see that there are three companies in the United States, one called Microsoft and the other called Adobe. There is also a company called Salesforce, they did not use the large model to make anything new, but made a full combination of the large model with the existing products and scenarios, and it was reborn. For example, Microsoft chose Office, Bing, and Edge browsers, while Adobe chose graphics editing and video editing, which it excels at.

So I think that after the big model comes out, in the field of to C, it means that our search, browser, information flow, short video, Weibo, Q&A, and even our social networking may be reshaped with the big model. As for whether it is a tactical reinvention or a strategic remodeling, it depends on the practices of each company, so this killer application will definitely come out in 2024.

The seventh prophecy, the large model last year, mainly talked about the ability to write and write. In 2024, represented by Gemini and OpenAI's GPT-4V version, multimodality will become the standard of the future. Multimodal can not only listen and speak, the key is that it can understand videos and pictures.

The eighth prediction is that with the support of large models, AIGC will have breakthrough growth. As I said earlier, Midjourney drew a picture at the beginning of last year, and it looked like it was drawn by AI, often drawing people with 6 fingers. At the end of the year, computer drawings are on par with photographers' works. At the beginning of the year, almost all of AI's ability to generate videos was the ability of GIFs and emojis, and at the end of the year, some of them were already made like Hollywood cartoons, so this progress is particularly fast.

The ninth prophecy, I think the big model saved the robotics industry.

Before the big model came out, the traditional humanoid robot was the typical intellectual disability industry - it did do like a human, but it was extremely incompetent because it did not have the knowledge of the world. But with the big model, the robot industry has gained a revolutionary development. A robot that has been stir-fried for the past two days can automatically fry eggs, do housework automatically, and arrange clothes automatically, which depends entirely on the blessing of large models.

The tenth is one of my expectations, why China must make large models, I think large models are not only language tools, not just chat machines, large models can not only play a role in many of our businesses, in fact, large models may become the greatest tool ever invented by mankind, become a tool for many scientists.

The reason why we can enjoy the Internet and enjoy a lot of new energy today is because the world's physicists made a key breakthrough in the first 100 years. But in the last fifty or sixty years, human beings have not made breakthroughs in science and technology for a long time, so if large models can become a tool for scientists, for example, in the United States, many biologists have begun to use large models to help them study the structure of proteins, study and analyze genes. Therefore, I hope that in 2024, large models can promote breakthroughs in basic science and become a powerful tool for our scientific and technological development.

To quickly summarize, I came up with a concept of AI belief. I would like to tell you today, don't just listen to me tactically talk about the 10 major trends, the most important thing is to ask yourself, you and your company want to seize the opportunity of AI, why can you seize the opportunity?

How do you judge AI beliefs? Quite simply, I've put forward a few criteria. First, you can go back and ask yourself, do you believe that this large model is the inflection point of real artificial intelligence, or do you not believe it, and think it is a fake artificial intelligence, there has been a lot of debate on the Internet.

The second point is that you don't believe that it will develop exponentially at the current rate, whether you believe that it will rapidly surpass us in the future when its intellectual development speed, and whether you believe that it will be an industrial revolution that will reshape every industry we are in in 3-5 years, and will restructure our products, business chains and internal management processes.

And finally, in addition to reinventing all of our products and businesses, there's the fact that you don't believe it, you're not going to be eliminated by the big models, but you're going to be eliminated by the companies that use the big models. There are a lot of people who are worried that using a large model will lead to unemployment, and I tell employees not to worry, I don't think a big model will make you unemployed, but those colleagues who can use it will make colleagues who can't use it unemployed.

So that's what I call AI faith. People who don't have AI beliefs look at large models, and they are easy to look down on because they can't see clearly, because of the problem of mentality. Because they look down on it, they don't want to put down their bodies to ponder, so they can't understand it, and when they wake up one day, they can't see it, and they are far ahead.

So I'm going to give you the second piece of advice, which is to be all in AI. What do you mean by All in AI? Don't be so vulgar about how many cards you bought. We don't have that much money, we can't buy so many cards, and this has nothing to do with All in AI. The real All in AI is that you can put your beliefs into action in your company, and make AI pervasive in your company.

For example, from top to bottom, from the boss to your middle-level cadres to your employees, are they all learning Xi and using AI? If everyone doesn't use AI, if you don't use all kinds of AI products every day, if you don't use some paid versions, you can understand AI and believe in AI, isn't it a joke? If you don't use AI, why are you sitting here talking about AI reshaping your business?

For example, is your marketing department using AI to make drawings, is your programmer using AI to code, is your HR using AI to sort out resumes, is starting small and going to your company.

Another is to rethink your product, dare to do self-revolutionary things, the so-called "if you want to succeed, you must first self-palace". Can you use AI to think about your product, what functions can I bless?

So there are two kinds of innovation in the world, one is to do things that no one else has ever done, which is actually quite difficult for most of us. But on the other hand, redo the industry with what you have already done, especially the transformation of the whole process. I just talked about the examples of Microsoft, Salesforce, and Adobe, all of which redid existing products with AI, and all of them achieved good results.

So I recently talked to HR in the company about a new assessment indicator, called AI content, which is the content of AI. For example, how many resources are invested in AI projects by each department, how high is the concentration of AI talents in departments at all levels, how many people have a better understanding of AI, and how high is the conversion rate from technology to user use.

For employees, I am also asking now, have you used the climbing products in the AI list, and you use them at your own expense, because many free product functions are very poor; have you the Xi of subscribing to high-quality AI media at home and abroad, have you seen many foreign AI product launches one by one on the Internet, such as many on GitHub, and Hugging Face has a large number of AI open source projects, have you played and understood?

So I think this is one of the biggest opportunities in the future. AI is definitely business-driven, so I think you can use AI to help you transform in the next 3-5 years if you get everyone interested in AI and business experts understand what AI is all about.

Of course, this is not very mature, and I am ready to make a good example of using AI as the standard for the company's HR assessment department to evaluate employees. With the advent of the new AI era, there must be a group of young rookies emerging within the company, and then they will guide the company to combine with AI.

Finally, to sum up, my understanding of "holding on" is that people should have an entrepreneurial spirit, not a business. We can see two points from Wang Shi and Feng Lun, one is to adhere to long-termism, "hold" and long-termism are the same concept, but you can't stand still, that's rigidity, so the second, "hold" needs to be innovative.

I'm just talking about some of my personal points today, and I'm already doing it, and maybe I'm going to fail, and I can't predict the outcome, but I think it's the best opportunity for you to think. In the next 3-5 years, if you can't successfully turn the AI into a weapon in your hand, then you must be like a person with a big sword and spear, and the opponent you face has been upgraded to AK47, which may face a dimensionality reduction attack.

So I hope that everyone who is here tonight can think about it seriously. What I'm saying is not necessarily right, if you want to scold me first, you must first understand what I said. I hope you will seize the opportunity of the large model.

Thank you all, and thank you for your time.

Wang Shi: Take the right path, sugar daddy, and look at the long term

Feng Lun X Zhou Hongyi X Wang Shi X Cheng Qian: 2024, there is a way out if you hold on

Hello everyone. Feng Lun and Zhou Hongyi both mentioned me just now, so I have to respond. I think Mr. Feng is very punctual, but Mr. Zhou is overtime, so I will give him the time, and I will talk shorter.

I'll respond to Feng Lun first. We met in 1993. At that time, our company had just been listed, and Feng Lun was known as the "Six Gentlemen of Wantong", and he took the "three gentlemen" from Hainan to Shenzhen to meet me and came here.

Feng Lun was well-known at the time, he was a researcher at the Institute of Economic Research, he also taught at the Central Party School, and he was in the same university as Zhang Weiying. He brought the team to visit and Xi, which greatly satisfied my vanity.

I have been in business for so many years, and he was the first to say that he would learn from me Xi. I scheduled an hour for this. I can't schedule too long, I have to show that my time is precious. After introducing each other, Feng Lun began to talk about the story of entrepreneurship, and they kept telling the first pot of gold. Forty or fifty minutes passed, and there was no intention of stopping.

I couldn't sit still, so I tentatively asked, "Didn't you come to learn Xi from me? (Audience laughs)

Guess what Feng Lun said? Feng Lun said, "Hey, I want to hear from you, but if you don't, I'm afraid of being cold." 」

Why was that happening? I had a trait, a bit of a social phobia.

In 1988, when there was no listed company, the Shenzhen Municipal Government approved our (the company's demutualization) transformation plan, and the company was named "Shenzhen Vanke Enterprise Co., Ltd." People are famous, CCTV came to interview. The interview lasted just over a minute, and I talked about why I wanted to renovate (the company), what was the purpose, and what would happen in the future? On these three questions, I held back and sweated.

In the end, the director discussed it and said, "Let's pretend to shoot first, and you come to the show, we think you have passed the test, and then we will give you a real shot." He said that the shooting was empty, and I was not so nervous, and I barely stammered to finish. The director said, "Click, okay, we're going to record it." It turned out that they said it was an aerial shot, but it was actually a real shot. It's so nervous.

What do you think of me now? (The audience applauds, applauds) Why is it possible to do this level now, and how did I overcome social fear?

It was around 2000 that Motorola approached me to shoot commercials. If you think about it, I can't even do a normal interview, and I still shoot commercials, and I even have to tell a story in 45 seconds, and I have all kinds of performances, how challenging it is for me. First of all, I love money, but I don't just rush for money. I've been making commercials for 24 years, why do I shoot them?

Let's respond to Zhou Hongyi again. The two of us have similar personalities, and our personalities are not quite the same as Feng Lun's. Feng Lun and I have known each other for more than 30 years, and I really think that people have their own advantages and disadvantages, but our values are the same, and our expectations for the future are the same. We always feel that we are capable and responsible for society. I, Feng Lun, and Hongyi, although there is a big difference in age and our backgrounds, these cognitions are the same.

The first time I met Hongyi was in his office, and I felt his respect, of course, there was an age relationship, but other than that, we basically didn't buy each other.

I pulled Feng Lun on WeChat, saying that I was going to Cambridge to learn Xi, and he came to be the squad leader, looking for him to climb the mountain, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Hua, and Qinling, and he came. But Hongyi likes to shoot, I pull him to row the boat (he doesn't come), he pulls me to shoot (I don't go).

At the beginning of 2022, we were in Xinjiang together, and I encouraged everyone to climb rocks, but I didn't expect this time to meet his idea, he said that their company built a climbing gym. I said, "I'm amazed that you're climbing a rock and you're paying for your own gym." He said, "I used to be a wild climber, and I thought it was too much of a waste of time, so I built a climbing gym in the company. 」

Our co-coach, Zhao Lei, is also here today (for the camera), he used to be the head coach of the Chinese national climbing team, and he is now ready to start a business.

After responding to both of them, let's talk about tonight's speech. What do you want to talk about when you give a speech at a New Year's Eve event?

At the event of the Canal Private Board of Directors this afternoon, they gave me a speech titled "Going Downstream, Against the Current".

There is a "28 effect", 80% of the crowd is following the crowd, and less than 20% are really rushing forward. If you want to be in that 20%, you can't always go with the flow. Counter-currents are also opportunities, and if you can strengthen your shortcomings, you will no longer be shortcomings.

In life, whether it is against the current or with the current, it is not so clear-cut. Going with the current, going against the current, is actually cyclical, and as long as you succeed, you will definitely face the countercurrent. If you're in the 80%, it's okay, as long as you don't choose the wrong industry and company, because you're following the crowd. But if you are the 20%, you must pay attention to the cycle, and after the flow must be the countercurrent.

What do you do when you go downstream? You have to hold on to it, you have to hold on to it. One of the most important things is that you have to be prepared for the long term.

I now have a 3-year-old kid who loves to play with scooters, and when she goes downhill, she is what we call downstream, and then she has to slide down while braking the car, otherwise she will get hurt. So do we.

When you are proud and victorious, think more about the countercurrent, because after going downstream, you will always face the countercurrent, and at this time, you can only hold on and go against the current.

Finally, I would like to say three more words.

In the 80s of the last century, when I first came to Shenzhen to start a business, a leader said three sentences, which I still remember vividly.

The first sentence is to take the right path.

Feng Lun and his friends, the "Six Gentlemen of Wantong", planned very clearly when they started their business, to "be upright and surprising", first of all, they must be right, and to take the right path is to take the big road.

The second sentence, sugar daddy.

Speaking of sugar daddy, I am now married for the second time, and everyone thinks that my daughter-in-law has fallen in love with me, in fact, when I met her, she had more cash than me, she was not doing advertising, she was a real estate consultant for Shui On in the mainland, Shui On is a very good company in Hong Kong, and she has been very successful. If you talk about sugar daddy, it should be me and her.

Vanke is also a sugar daddy, and the first big one is Sony. When Vanke was founded, we were not doing real estate, we were selling cameras, we learned Xi Sony, which was Vanke's first big money. After we converted to real estate, the second big money in the pong, Sun Hung Kai in Hong Kong.

The third sentence is internationalization and long-term perspective.

After studying Xi Sun Hung Kai, Wan Science is the Tokyo Building in Japan, which has a history of more than 100 years. After that, we went to the United States and around the world to continue learning Xi new goals.

So to sum up, we are just taking the right path, sugar daddy, and looking at the long term. Thank you.

Cheng Qian: The younger generation of entrepreneurs, born at the wrong time?

Feng Lun X Zhou Hongyi X Wang Shi X Cheng Qian: 2024, there is a way out if you hold on

Dear Mr. Feng Lun, Mr. Wang Shi, Mr. Zhou Hongyi, Mr. Zhou, all entrepreneurs, seniors, entrepreneurs, friends present and in front of the live broadcast, hello everyone. I'm Cheng Qian.

Special thanks to Mr. Feng Lun for giving me such an opportunity, and I am standing here today as a representative of the young generation of entrepreneurs. Just now, Mr. Wang Shi talked about the special year of 1993. In 1993, many things happened, such as Vanke's listing, such as the success of "Wantong Six Gentlemen" in Hainan, and then went to visit Mr. Wang Shi. In 1993, I read the information that Mr. Zhou Hongyi should have graduated from Xi'an Jiaotong University. Of course, in 1993, there was a trivial little thing, in a small hospital in Shaanxi, I was born.

Before I came, my colleague showed me the list of speakers, and I saw that the youngest of the three, 23 years older than me, was in a Xi mindset (to come to tonight's event).

I remember when I was in elementary school, I had a software called "3721" installed on my computer, which was a software before 360 became an international application.

The only drawback of 3721 is that no matter how you "kill" it, it can't be killed, and sometimes it pops up some pop-ups. When some pop-up pop-ups popped up that were inappropriate for children, my mom closed the computer screen and said, "This has to teach bad elementary school students." I'm sitting here today, listening to the jokes that Mr. Zhou said at the beginning, I don't understand. You're going to teach bad schoolboys.

As a primary school student in the business world, I am closer to young entrepreneurs, especially those in small and medium-sized enterprises. Actually, when I came to talk about "holding up" today, I listened to the three teachers, and I didn't think I was talking about "holding up", and there were still some differences from what I thought.

As an elementary school student, I wrote a very formal manuscript to talk about "holding on":

I still have a picture in my mind, in the summer of 2015, I completed all the formalities and was ready to leave my alma mater, Southwest Jiaotong University, which trained me for 4 years. In Pixian County, about 20 kilometers away from the city center, on the façade of the real estate near the school, there is a large poster with a sentence written on it, only 8,000 per square meter. Pixian County must be 8,000, and urban areas must not be 20,000. The people on this train are all going to enter the society in that year, and we all know very well that in 2015, it is already a fantasy to buy a house in Chengdu without relying on the support of our families, with this bachelor's degree, and if we want to work hard for a few years to buy a house in Chengdu City.

There are people who want to do things in every era, and the post-90s generation is the wrong era?

When the post-90s generation enters the society, you can engage in the real estate industry, but it is almost impossible for you to rebuild a Vanke. You can work in the financial industry, but you probably have a hard time registering a financial institution. It has been 40 years since the reform and opening up, the market mechanism is perfect, the financial supporting services are complete, the Internet is popular, and the degree of informatization is high. At such a point in time, we are just twenty or thirty years old, and we have a sense of powerlessness to look up to the huge social machine, and I am very small, and I want to do something, but I can't find the direction.

But, is that really the case?

In 2021, I finally left the financial industry and came to the arena of entrepreneurship to start a company. In the past 3 years, I have listened to more than 200 entrepreneurs tell me about their entrepreneurial experiences and projects. My cameras and footprints are all over every province, and the standard for interviewing entrepreneurs is not to focus on the scale of revenue and influence, but to see if what he wants to do can give me a fatal blow to my heart. For me personally, starting a business is a walk-and-go adventure, and the more I discover, the more I discover, and I keep making major discoveries. I took two or three steps outside, and I even had to run, because I felt the wanton going out, the calmness of going out, the joy of going out, and the prosperity of going out.

In today's China, in the high-rise buildings in Lujiazui, in the shopping park in Futian, and in the Wangjing International Trade Center in Chaoyang, for ordinary people, you may see prosperity, but you can't see too many opportunities. But if you turn around, go to the fields, soak in the clothing market in Nanyou, Guangzhou for a week, go around the glasses city in Danyang, Jiangsu, go to live in the tube building of the Zhudian people in Yiwu for two days, go to the flower market in Yunnan, go to the foundries in the Pearl River Delta that are forced to transform, and smoke a cigarette with their boss, you will find that the scene has not changed, and the people have changed. The commodity has not changed, but a new model has emerged.

In the midst of the predicament and the throes of transformation, there are already young people who have come out with courage and rapid iteration ability. In my more than 20 years of student life and 4 years of professional career, I have never seen such a peer. I don't look at my academic qualifications, I don't wear a suit, I'm full of couriers, I'm doing live broadcasts everywhere, I'm standing on the table for meetings, some people are doing cross-border, I graduated from junior high school, but my English is excellent. In some places, no more than 10 square meters, pull three or two small stools, and a few people can start an e-commerce data review at any time. In a small company with twenty or thirty people, the founder is responsible for the supply chain, managing the product, talking about the channel, and focusing on the content. I get it until 2-3 o'clock every day and sleep until 11 o'clock during the day.

You ask them, what are you doing, why are you working so hard here? He will give you a very pragmatic, unabashed, full of vitality answer, to make money. It's not a high-end word, but this kind of hot atmosphere really indulges me. In today's China, there are more people who want to improve their family environment and material conditions through personal struggle, more than any other country in the world. Try to ask, do young people in Japan believe that they can change their destiny through their efforts? Do young people in South Korea believe it? Chinese believe it. The college entrance examination allows me to go to college if I want to go to college, and I love to toss and work hard in society. Many years later, when the two waves of people met again in the entrepreneurial arena, everyone's skills were different, but the belief in their eyes was the same.

I used to be in the financial industry, and I was good at reading statements, looking at the changes in CPI and PPI, and making some charts year-on-year. If it's called macro, I think, sometimes macroscopic is also a kind of narrowness. Narrowly, from this pile of charts, we see the national economy, but we can't see the tiny individuals who make up the national economy, their situation, their anxiety, their fighting spirit, their determination. We can see the trend, but we can't see the opportunities hidden in the cracks, as human instinct and wisdom, the unlimited potential of the enterprise bursting out of the desperate situation.

From a macro point of view, for me personally, it is a life choice, and for experts, it is an economic form. When we look at the big picture and look at the face, we are often pessimistic, often at a loss, and we need to hold on. But when we look small, we see vigor, we see new life, we see hope.

And in history, all the big comes from the small. All the top 500 companies, when they first started, were garages, tube buildings, and two offices in the village. If we feel pessimistic in the big middle, everyone, go and embrace the small. We can find the most authentic self, when there is nothing, the only thing we have is the instinct to forge ahead, and the infinite curiosity and imagination of the future.

What is an entrepreneur? An entrepreneur is imagining something that doesn't exist and solving a concrete problem in front of him. Having interviewed so many people and seen so many companies, I deeply feel that daring to imagine, especially daring to believe in one's own imagination, is an absolutely scarce ability. This is something that we ignore in our exam-oriented education, but in fact, it is a particularly important ability for "getting things done". Because in the actual entrepreneurial process, the curiosity and desire to explore the unknown is a more powerful weapon than firm willpower. Willpower, must be done, so do, admired, but only solve one problem at a time. Curiosity, I want to do it from the bottom of my heart, and I feel that I have to do such a thing in this life, so that you will always have energy.

If a person thinks that he is no longer unknown, he stops growing. If a person is no longer curious about the unknown, his life is missing out on one of the best meanings. Entrepreneurs, who are still willing to try new adventures instead of lying on the merits of the book, are entrepreneurs I admire, and this is what I understand as entrepreneurship. Facing the future, are you still excited? Are you still throbbing? Do you still have the enthusiasm to go out to meet an important person?

Today, if we talk about the fundamentals of our entrepreneur group, what is still missing? We do not lack macro analysis and judgment. What we lack is the courage and imagination of the future and the unknown, the bold imagination, the boundless imagination, the imagination that borders on arrogance.

The post-90s generation, is it the wrong era? Can't do Vanke, can't do 360, and don't have a chance to make an Ali Tencent byte out, will we have nothing to do?

After the 90s, there are still a lot of things to do, and there are still a lot of things to be done. Tea has not yet gone to sea, and foreigners have not yet accepted liquor. Made in China has not yet become Chinese design. Look at today's consumer goods market, luxury brands, buy a bag and distribute goods, you want it to be discounted for the New Year, it tells you that it has risen, and customers in turn want to have a good relationship with the counter sister, this kind of sales has subverted our understanding of sales. Domestic, 99 also gives giveaways, a box of two boxes, three boxes and four boxes on the link. What exactly is a brand? Will we make goods, will we make a brand? Do we have cultural self-confidence, can we export cultural identity? This is a common topic facing this generation of Chinese entrepreneurs. Food, beverages, random examples, Wrigley, Ferrero, Lay's, Coca-Cola, Starbucks, some of them, still occupy the top of the domestic vertical consumer market.

Thirty years ago, our parents didn't have coffee, potato chips, chocolate, fried chicken, or coke. On the other hand, he can change the eating habits of a generation Xi what did he do right? fast-moving consumer goods, and appliances, toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, razor, hair dryer. Seeing that our brand is like Laifen doing technology inclusive, I am happy from the bottom of my heart, everyone is using high-speed hair dryers. I feel very happy to see a colored razor, relying on design to get out of the circle, I haven't had it before, wouldn't it be good to let a big company copy a homework, we at least see the possibility in Chinese design and Chinese brands.

In the past five years, new consumption has been very hot, the capital market has invested a lot, and we have achieved very good results, but in the world, when will we be able to appear as a real head? Isaacson wrote a biography of Steve Jobs and Musk, which sold well in China. Dalio's principles, Schwarzman, and the existence of black and red treasure books, I see that every entrepreneur has one on the shelf.

From the output of the mission, vision, and values of entrepreneurs and enterprises, to let the world recognize the products made in China, to understand why this Chinese company and this young founder make this product, don't get the old story of Silicon Valley, and hear too much about the story of Silicon Valley. Content workers also have a lot of work to do.

In the face of great power competition in the new era, we all know that the big problem is difficult to solve. We can't just comment on the big questions. Let's solve the problem, through entrepreneurship, through business, trade, branding, design, we can completely achieve self-realization, and we can completely contribute to society, the country, and human development.

Thanks to the previous generation and of course the previous generation of entrepreneurs, our days have changed for the better. Now we feel that the subway in foreign countries is very broken, and the takeaway is also very slow, and now McDonald's and KFC are no longer gifts for a birthday when they were children, and the next generation of Chinese entrepreneurs have seen the world and confidence are accumulating, no matter what others think, I really think from the bottom of my heart that an era that belongs to our generation of young entrepreneurs has really arrived.

I especially remember that Liu Qiangdong Liu always appeared on CCTV's "Let's Talk" one year, he said that when he was in high school, he left the village for the first time and traveled a long distance to Nanjing, Jiangsu. My shock was that on the green train from Xi'an to Ankang, in the noise of a piece of melon seed beer, I opened the book of Kai-Fu Lee's "The World is Different Because of You". I don't think that'll ever happen again. With high-speed rail and self-media, it used to take 16 years old to reach the shock in a teenager's heart, but now at the age of 7, he can brush it while lying in bed.

The change of media not only improves efficiency, but also profoundly changes a kind of underlying thing. That is, this generation, the earlier awakening of self-consciousness, many of his basic questions can be quickly answered, so he began to look inward for deeper answers, so there are different answers.

How can a company be a good enterprise, pay more attention to scale revenue, or return on net assets, whether to pursue speed, seize the market, the logic of the strong, or the long stream, maintain their own crowd assets, polish products, full of flavor, slowly build barriers, and values begin to become diversified.

This generation is simpler and more respectful of rules and values, rather than purely relying on human feelings. I don't really have the skills, and I want to do it just by drinking two drinks, and I hardly see this kind of situation. The relationship is good, and there is also a saying. If the relationship is not good, the cooperation must be cooperated. The previous boss, E people, was the majority, giving speeches and having a strong desire to perform. Today, many people come to start a business, and without bluffing, is there a lack of leadership?

Mr. Li Shu, the founder of Tea stone, Mr. Li Lin, the founder of Jiangnan Buyi Tianmuli, and the founder of Hohmann, the founder of pet appliances, Liu Kun, have been selling first on the wish list in the Amazon pet category in Japan for 22 years, which are all pure i people. Such a company is not impassioned, there is no pie, everyone does things well, simple, low-key, pragmatic, and also has strong competitiveness.

Are the post-90s generation born in the wrong era?

It's the best time to do things. Looking ahead, there is the culture of Ali Tiejun, Huawei's Iron Triangle, Byte's OKR, Kazuo Inamori's amoeba, a bunch of cognition and content to help you move forward, looking back, the big demand may be satisfied, but in countless fingernails, as an individual in the new era, he understands the needs of young people better than the older generation, can find more room for optimization, and is more likely to quickly circle a group of core users through product self-expression. The needs of a new generation need to be met by a new generation of enterprises, and because of the particularity of the new generation, the needs are diverse, scattered, and unmet.

I would like to conclude today's speech with an analogy. Back then, when Mingyue was interviewed, she said such a sentence. History is cruel, we just open a history book, just a few pages, we turn the page of countless people's lives. Now, let's take out a pen and draw a coordinate axis on the paper. The history of mankind before 1993 did not have me. Let's say I live for 80 years. After 2073, it has nothing to do with me. And the 80 years of my existence are just a moment in the grand history of mankind. It's like a second hand "snap", so for a moment.

Excuse me, apart from wanton blooming, in addition to the yearning full of curiosity and desire to explore, in addition to enjoying, experiencing and constantly seeing the world, in addition to seeking true inner satisfaction and self-realization, in addition to creating some beautiful things and leaving my footprints in the world, do I have any other, better way to spend my life?

Thank you Mr. Feng Lun for the invitation, and wish you all a smooth start and a happy new year. Thank you.
