Woo revealed that before the accident, she often held lectures related to interviews. On January 27 this year, when she was about to go to attend a cabin attendant lecture, she accidentally fell on the sidewalk and received heavy blows to her back and head. This resulted in a brain hemorrhage, cerebral edema, and a broken back. After being rushed to the hospital, doctors performed a craniotomy, in which about 40% of the left side of the skull was removed.
Currently, Woo is receiving a variety of treatments, including physical, verbal, and intellectual. Although she experienced headaches and speech barriers after the surgery, the medical staff said that the chance of her language impairment was extremely low, only 2-3%. Woo says she keeps a lot of records, plus a book she has published in the past and reading habits, which have helped her overcome the language barrier. She revealed that she sometimes confuses her family's names, but she has rediscovered the word by reading more than 10 books for elementary, middle and high school students.
