On December 14, 2023, the 2023 National Art Fund Artistic Talent Training Funding Project "Virtual Curatorial Talent Training for Art Museums" was successfully opened in the multi-purpose hall of the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
The exhibition systematically reviewed the teaching design, classroom silhouettes, and student creations of the project, and focused on the theme exhibition "2123 Archaeology: 100 Things in the Art Museum a Hundred Years Ago", which was jointly curated by 30 students in combination with what they had learned, thought, and felt during the training.

The 2023 National Arts Fund Artistic Talent Training Funding Project "Virtual Curatorial Talent Training for Art Museums" results report exhibition consists of individual achievement display of trainees, training content Range Rover and collectively curated theme exhibition. Under the guidance of the project leader Kang Li and the school art museum, the participants collectively curated the theme exhibition "2123 Archaeology: 100 Things in the Art Museum 100 Years Ago" as an overall response to the topics of digital technology, art museums, and more possibilities for future exhibition planning. "2123 Archaeology: 100 Things in Art Museums 100 Years Ago" fictionalizes a "comprehensive body" of the near-future world that exists in the 22nd century, initiating cultural archaeology from the future to today's art museums and art exhibitions, combining reality and imagination, breaking the boundaries and barriers between virtual reality, present and future, time and space, on the one hand, as stated in the book "Anticipations" in 1902, predicting the future has always been an important pastime in human life. On the other hand, as stated in the vision of the "Virtual Curatorial Talent Training for Art Museums" project, a new model of multi-dimensional curation will be created in the constantly updated network communication. This exhibition breaks through the temporal logic of traditional curation, and examines and summarizes the overall construction of contemporary art museums and exhibitions from a macro perspective.

At the exhibition site, 100 "monumental" booths carry data modules to form an art information matrix connected with the times, describing the current situation of art museums and contemporary curation with imaginative narratives, and expressing a beautiful vision for the future through the "unlimited" exhibition lines arranged in the exhibition. At the same time, this exhibition makes full use of artificial intelligence, virtual assets and digital equipment to make a clever interpretation of the fictional reality and confused reality that the virtual exhibition may bring, bringing a new perception and immersive viewing experience to the audience.
In addition, the project team will also sort out and edit the wonderful teaching content of the teaching experts and compile it into a compilation.
Project Overview
The 2023 National Art Fund Funding Project "Virtual Curatorial Talent Training for Art Museums" is mainly arranged by the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and is undertaken by the Virtual Teaching and Research Department of the Virtual Curation and Aesthetic Education Course of the Art Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the project leader is Dr. Kang Li, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch and Deputy Director of the Virtual Teaching and Research Office of the School of Art Management and Education of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. A total of 30 curatorial practitioners from the National Museum, National Art Museum of China, Hubei Museum of Art, Henan Art Museum, Shanghai Oil Painting and Sculpture Institute, Luoyang Art Museum, Tsinghua University, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and other universities and art institutions are selected as training objects, aiming to cultivate a group of high-level practical curatorial talents through theoretical teaching, investigation and research, workshops and other training links.

On August 24, 2023, the class officially opened at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and all training courses have been completed as planned. The training courses consist of theoretical courses, research courses, and practical courses, which are carried out in Beijing and Shanghai in an orderly manner based on local cultural resources and the online platform facilities of the department. In the theoretical teaching session, the teaching team teaches on topics such as art theory, curatorial practice, educational practice, digital exploration, etc., transitioning from basic theory to working methods, and then focusing on industry trend observation to exhibition case studies, step by step; in the intensive theoretical Xi, it is also interspersed with research courses of some representative institutions in Shanghai and Beijing, comprehensively observing the industry during field trips, and communicating with leaders of various institutions and enterprises, In the final practical course, students are guided to sort out and summarize what they have learned and thought in the first two links, and complete the simulation and practical training of the entire curation process, and the students complete a series of curatorial training from exhibition proposals, program writing, work selection, exhibition design, and event planning through the online virtual curation platform, and form 30 unique virtual exhibition programs.

The Virtual Teaching and Research Department of the Virtual Curation and Aesthetic Education Course of the Art Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts provided a virtual simulation experiment system and an art curatorial resource library for the whole project, and restored the exhibition space of some of the students' institutions in combination with the curatorial needs of the students.
