On the evening of December 5th, the first China-ASEAN (Nanning) Cultural Month and the 10th China-ASEAN (Nanning) Theatre Week will kick off, and 26 large and medium-sized plays from 25 art troupes from China, Cambodia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and other ASEAN countries will appear on the Greentown stage.

At the 10th China-ASEAN (Nanning) Theatre Week, the plays performed by the Vietnamese theatre troupe were warmly sought after by Chinese audiences.

During the Drama Week, many performances such as the Vietnamese mockery drama "Guanyin Shi Jing", the Vietnamese drama "The Seventy-second Rite", the Vietnamese puppet show "Vietnamese Style" and the new Chinese classic drama "Thunderstorm" performed by Vietnamese artists were well received by the audience. Vietnamese theatre has participated in the China-ASEAN (Nanning) Theatre Week for ten consecutive years, which not only allows Chinese audiences to experience the artistic charm of Vietnamese theatre up close, but also enhances the people-to-people ties and deep friendship between the Chinese and Vietnamese peoples.

"The relationship between China and Vietnam is closer than ever," Nguyen Thi Thi Ngoy, the head of Vietnam's Liyu Theatre Troupe and People's Artist, burst into tears in an interview. "I hope that in the future, the cultural exchanges between the two countries will continue to deepen and bring the two peoples closer. ”

"Oh my God, his eyes are kind, his forehead is high, and he looks at me full of sympathy......" On December 8, when the emotional dialogue in the Vietnamese drama "The Seventy-second Prayer" sounded at the Guangxi Culture and Arts Center, it instantly captured the hearts of the audience. The play is one of the special performances of the "Golden Palace" of China-ASEAN outstanding artists in the series of activities of the first China-ASEAN (Nanning) Cultural Month and the 10th China-ASEAN (Nanning) Drama Week.

"The Seventy-second Confession" tells the story of Mr. Du Van Ti in Haiphong City, Vietnam in 1966, who spent eight years in prison, and in prison, he continued to write grievance posts, and after sending 72 confessions to Ho Chi Minh, he finally cleared the story.

During the two-hour performance, the actors vividly express the inner emotions of the characters through words, movements and expressions, making the audience feel as if they are in the middle of the story. "I was very impressed by the scene of the heroine redressing her husband's grievances in the play, the performance was infectious, and it completely drove the audience's emotions, even if they couldn't understand Vietnamese, they would still be replaced by the actors' expressions and movements, which showed that the artistic 'language' is the same. Xie Suibin, a third-year student at Nanning Normal University, told reporters that this was her first contact with Vietnamese drama and she felt very good.

Vietnam Liyu Theatre Troupe not only brought local Vietnamese dramas, but also reinterpreted the classic drama "Thunderstorm" created by the famous mainland playwright Cao Yu.

Audience Xiao Yi came to watch "Thunderstorm" this time. He said that he had watched the drama "Wilderness" by the Liyu Theater Troupe in 2019, and he liked the troupe at that time. "I think theatre knows no borders, and tonight, the Vietnamese performed Mr. Cao Yu's classic works in their own way, which made me see the charm of cultural integration. The platform of China-ASEAN (Nanning) Theatre Week can introduce many of our works, and as a Chinese, I am very proud. ”

At the end, the Liyu Theatre Troupe adopted a different way of interpretation, adding a group photo, and Ruan Wenhai, the production director and artistic director of the Liyu Theatre Troupe, said that this adaptation is to hope that the audience can better understand the story behind "Thunderstorm", and at the same time bring the audience more imagination and longing for a new life.

"Our troupe has participated in the China-ASEAN (Nanning) Theatre Week for ten consecutive years, and during the performance, everyone Xi learns from each other, communicates with each other, and understands each other. The chairman of the board of directors of Vietnam Liyu Theatre Troupe, people's artist Nguyen Thi Liyu said that "Thunderstorm" is a classic work, and its influence in Vietnam is great, and this time it can be staged in the 10th China-ASEAN (Nanning) Theatre Week, which has also played a certain role in promoting the cultural exchanges between China and Vietnam.

"I didn't expect our Chinese drama to be so popular abroad. Pan Chunzhu, deputy general manager of Nanning Art Theater Co., Ltd. and a national first-class actor, told reporters that before the opening, she has been thinking about how foreign artists will interpret China's traditional repertoire, and after watching the performance, she was very excited, "I have an expectation, I hope that one day, our Chinese actors and foreign actors can rehearse a classic Chinese drama together, I believe it will be more exciting!"

The people of the two countries, especially the younger generation, have enhanced mutual understanding and friendship through cultural exchanges such as theater, music, and food.

In recent years, Vietnam has created a number of hits in the electronic music genre with more than 100 million or even billions of listeners.

"Vietnamese songs are usually upbeat and rhythmic. You can't help but dance as soon as you hear your body. Zhou Jing, a short video lover from Nanning, Guangxi, said.

Nowadays, cultural elements such as Vietnamese songs and dances are becoming increasingly popular in China.

At the same time, Vietnamese restaurants have sprung up in China's major cities in recent years, thanks to natural ingredients and refreshing menus.

With the continuous strengthening of economic, trade and logistics cooperation between China and Vietnam, more fresh Vietnamese ingredients are shipped to China, and authentic Vietnamese food is becoming more and more popular in China.

In Hekou Yao Autonomous County, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province, on the border between China and Vietnam, traditional Vietnamese snacks such as duck eggs, roll noodles and black bean ice can be seen everywhere in the streets and alleys, and have become the daily diet of Hekou locals.

Eight years ago, Tran Thi Wei from Vietnam came to China to start a business and opened a Vietnamese roll flour shop in Hekou, Yunnan. Because of its unique production process and authentic taste, the snack bar is quite popular in the local area.

"I see a lot of Chinese tourists interested in our hot and sour food, especially cheong fun. I came to Hekou to open a restaurant to bring Vietnamese food to Chinese friends. Chen Shiwei said.

In Mengzi City, Honghe Prefecture, the owner, Dao Haitao, runs a small Vietnamese food shop that mainly sells Vietnamese rice noodles and various Vietnamese specialty snacks. Dao Haitao has lived in a small border town between China and Vietnam since he was a child, and his family has relatives living in Vietnam, and he has been inextricably linked with Vietnam since he was a child.

In July this year, his small shop "Da Zao Yue Wei" opened in Mengzi. "Da Zao" is taken from the homonym of the Vietnamese word "hello". Since its opening, many citizens have come to taste it every day, and it has also attracted many tourists to "check in".

"I've traveled to Vietnam a few times before, and the most memorable thing for me is the pho in Vietnam, but I didn't expect to be able to eat Vietnamese food at my doorstep now. Mengzi citizen Ma Ting said.
