Recently, the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment received good news that Nanshan students have achieved good results in the selection of ecological and environmental protection science and technology works of the 2023 Shenzhen Youth Environmental Protection Festival. In this event, Shenzhen selected a total of 37 awards at all levels, of which 19 awards were won by students from Nanshan District, accounting for more than 50%. What's more remarkable is that the works of students in Nanshan District won the special prizes in the primary school group and the middle school group, and they are among the best in the city in terms of the number of awards and the level of awards.

With the theme of "Lighting up the Green Dream and Creating an Ecological Future", this selection activity aims to enhance the attention and innovative thinking of Shenzhen teenagers to environmental protection issues by soliciting ecological and environmental protection science and technology works from primary and secondary school students in the city. At the launching ceremony of the Shenzhen Youth Environmental Protection Festival, the guests presented honorary certificates to the winning students, which stimulated the students' enthusiasm and confidence in the creation of environmental protection technology.

Since the launch of the solicitation activity, the Nanshan District Institute of Education and Science has responded quickly, widely publicized, and actively organized students to participate, which fully demonstrated Nanshan District's firm determination and active exploration of science and technology to help ecological and environmental protection. It is worth mentioning that due to its outstanding performance in the organization of the event and the active promotion of environmental protection technology, the Nanshan District Institute of Education and Science won the Outstanding Organization Award in this event.

The work of "New Energy Conversion Storage and Output All-in-one Machine" developed by Zhang Hanwen of the Second Foreign Chinese School (Group) Middle School in Nanshan District, Shenzhen won the special prize of the middle school group of the youth ecological and environmental protection science and technology works. The work is based on the conversion of solar energy, wind energy, and thermal energy, stores energy through electrolysis of water, batteries, and hot water, and outputs energy through 220V inverter, hot water, and hydrogen combustion, realizing multi-functional integration.

In response to the problem of global shortage of freshwater resources, four students, Zeng Weiyang, Zeng Weihang and Dai Yule, from Haide School of Nanshan District No. 2 Foreign Chinese Group, used the principle of solar desalination to design a floating crystal island - "Salty" Superman, aiming to quickly and stably use water for coastal residents and carry ships to obtain fresh water. The work won the special prize in the primary school group in this event.

The "Smart Marine Ranch" created by Wang Zizhou, a student of Shenzhong Nanshan Innovation School, can efficiently use clean energy such as solar energy, wind energy, and salt water energy at sea to provide energy for marine ranching projects, combine Beidou engineering technology for scientific management, and build an environment-friendly ecological breeding system.

If the garbage on the water is not cleaned up in time, it will aggravate water pollution and destroy the ecological balance. At present, the water cleaning work is still inseparable from manual work, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive, and it is difficult to cover the whole coverage. In response to this problem, Chen Jiasheng and Zhang Wenke from the Second Experimental School of Shenzhen Southern University of Science and Technology Education Group (Nanshan) designed and produced "A Water Garbage Cleaning Boat Equipped with Beidou System", which is divided into automatic cleaning mode and remote control cleaning mode, which can effectively replace manual cleaning of various garbage on the water.
