My child is now more than 5 years old and will be 6 years old in October.

I feel that the reading habit is still not cultivated enough, and it should have something to do with us adults, I don't insist on parent-child reading every day, and adults will look at their mobile phones when they go back, so I feel that adults also have problems that need to be improved.

Every time I see him not reading, I am a little anxious, most of the time I take a shower at night for parent-child reading, and I talk less when the time is late.

1. When you come across a book you like, you can read it for a while, because he likes transportation things, such as high-speed rail, subway, airplanes, cars, etc., but he also likes to read a lot of pictures, and he doesn't like to read words very much.

When I see books with more words, I don't like them very much, I like to read books that I am interested in and have more pictures, I bought children's history books, Journey to the West children's version and other picture books about history, I feel that I am not very interested, I hope he is interested in these.

3. When I have nothing to do at home, I rarely take the initiative to read a book, and even if I do, I insist on not being able to see it for a while, so I go to play with toys or watch TV. Often when he plays with toys for a long time, I will ask him if he reads, and he will say: Here it is again, and I am afraid that he will resist.

I let him play with great interest, thinking that he would definitely love to read.

When I was 1 and a half years old, I took the picture book and showed him, but he didn't listen to me at all, only looked at those colorful pictures, and urged me to keep flipping through them, and only when he met something he liked, he would stop for a few seconds and then run away.

At that time, like all boys, he loved excavators and big trucks on construction sites.

How do you maintain your child's reading habits?

When your child is older, say three or four years old, they say "no" to you.

That's why I have always advocated that children read as early as possible, and that is why they should be enlightened by parent-child reading together with their parents, rather than relying on machines and various reading apps.

At the age of 3-6, if you explain the importance of reading to your child, then your child agrees to continue reading.

But there is also a problem that they like to read one type of book or several books repeatedly for a while, and they don't read any other books.

There is also a situation where he says he doesn't want to watch it and wants to play other things, such as some children say they want to watch animations, scroll through their phones, and play games.

What to do, how to keep the child going?

Let's talk about repeated reading first, I remember that when Xiao Xiaoyu was in kindergarten, there was a long period of reading only one set of picture books about eating, whose name was Ah Wujun, and he pestered us every day to talk about it.

I have to talk about it every night before I go to bed, and I will ask us to talk about it during the day.

For almost weeks, I could almost memorize these books.

And he himself is not familiar with the content.

But he loved it.

In fact, this is the most normal behavior of children, so don't feel strange.

Because with each repetition of reading, the child always discovers something new.

Montessori called "repetitive practice" "children's intellectual gymnastics", and "repeated practice will improve the child's mental and sensory processes".

This familiarity will make them feel satisfied and at ease.

If the child behaves like this, then follow the child's rhythm.

And the child says that he can't read anymore and wants to play with his mobile phone to watch animations, what should he do?

There is an important point to talk about separately.

Even if you are 3-6 years old, you must let your child have less contact with electronic devices, and if you want, please make sure to set good rules, control time, and strictly enforce them.

Because once a child is addicted, it will take up a lot of time and energy.

They don't put their minds on reading.

Because at this stage, paper reading, no matter how exciting it is, can't compare to these animations and games.

What we can do is to keep our children less exposed to electronic devices.

Even if you go out and have more fun.

Then stick to two or three picture books every night.

If the child says he doesn't want to see it.

There were only two reasons for that, one was that books were not the subject of his interest.

For example, story machines, cartoons, toys, etc.

The third hurdle is independent reading that many parents care about, how to let children read by themselves?

Because children can read on their own, it can really reduce a lot of "burden" on parents.

Parent-child reading is really time-consuming and physically demanding.

Telling your child regularly every day means that you have to be there at that time.

I still remember that when I was working overtime in the company, Xiao Xiaoyu called me and asked: "Dad, why haven't you come back yet, I'm going to sleep." ”

Because he was waiting for me to come home and tell the story, and he had to listen to it before he could sleep.

I said I wanted my mother to tell me, but he wouldn't let me go back.

As a result, when I went back that day, he waited for a long time, couldn't stay up, and had already slept.

Later, my mother often told him that I could give myself occasional holidays.

Even so, we sometimes have a dry mouth.

But when he was 5 years old, I asked Little Fish to read the stories we had told.

He looked at the picture and could repeat it for seven or eight points.

"It's great that you're able to read a book on your own!" we encouraged him.

He himself was very happy.

He also happily said that he wanted to tell us stories.

In this way, he began to read on his own.

Sometimes during the day, I look at the stories I told the night before.
