Breguet's new Classique Classic 3358 tourbillon

Breguet, the Swiss watchmaking brand, has presented two new models for the Classique Classic 3358 tourbillon. The two timepieces are a sparkling example of Breguet's proud watchmaking excellence.

Bright starry sky

This white gold watch is a dream of starry stars. The mother-of-pearl dial is covered with midnight blue varnish and features brilliant diamonds like a river of stars. To add to the night sky, the disc is covered with gold stars: sandblasted, polished or set with diamonds. The 12-o'clock eccentric scale with Arabic numeral indexes and rhodium gold-plated Breguet hands reflect the brand's signature aesthetic; The individual number of the watch is set at 4 o'clock. The dial features a polished window at 6 o'clock, like a curved stage with a panoramic view of the tourbillon. A meteor arm of 45 snowflake diamonds straddles the tourbillon, with a blue spinel in the center as the axis of the tourbillon frame.

From both the front and back of the watch, you can see the tourbillon in action. Through the sapphire glass caseback, you can admire the hand-engraved Breguet logo and the individual number of the movement on the hammered bottom plate.

The bezel and lugs are also set with diamonds, while the crown is decorated with a rose-cut diamond.

Shine brightly

This watch shines with brilliant diamonds. The rose gold watch features a total of 281 diamonds on the dial. Between 3 and 9 o'clock, the stones are gradually arranged in brilliant and elegant curves, while the diamonds inside the graduated rings are gently presented with snowflake settings.

The 12-o'clock graduated ring is accentuated by white mother-of-pearl. Arabic numeral indexes and Breguet hands faithfully continue the unique aesthetic established by founder Breguet. The tourbillon, on the other hand, is located at the bottom of the dial and blends into the polished elliptical curved aperture, and the 14-diamond gold front axle is rounded.

The cool grey tones contrast with the warm pink-toned components, which reflect the fascinating mechanical structure of the tourbillon. The bezel and lugs are also set with diamonds, and the crown is decorated with a rose-cut diamond.

On this rose gold watch, the wearer can admire the hand-engraved decoration through the sapphire glass caseback.

Exceptional movement

Both new Breguet timepieces are equipped with the 187 D calibre in their 35 mm case, which is water-resistant to 30 metres and has a balance frequency of 2.5 Hz. This hand-wound movement has a power reserve of 50 hours. The movement is robust and precise, equipped with Breguet hairsprings made of stainless steel and handcrafted Breguet end curves.

Both watches are equipped with a glossy alligator leather strap, a white gold model with a midnight blue strap and a rose gold model with a dark red strap.

Tourbillon

On June 26, 1801, Abraham-Louis Breguet officially patented the tourbillon for his scientific talent and watchmaking. Early on, Breguet discovered that the gravity of the earth hinders the regular operation of watch movements, because whenever the position of the watch changes, it will lead to operating errors. To solve the problem of gravity, Breguet's founders envisioned placing the entire escapement within a movable frame that rotated one full circle per minute. In this way, all errors are repeated regularly, thus canceling each other out. In addition, the balance shaft has constantly changing contact points in its jewel bearings, contributing to better lubrication. It was on this principle that Breguet eventually invented the world-famous tourbillon.

Classique Classic Series

The Classique Classic Collection combines atmospheric simplicity with an extraordinary sense of sophistication, faithfully interpreting the unique style that the brand has inherited to this day. Abraham-Louis Breguet was not only a gifted watchmaker and inventor, but also one of the pioneers of design. He invented and pioneered the neoclassical style in watchmaking. This aesthetic gives the dial an avant-garde look and makes the watch easier to read. Breguet pays homage to the brand's timeless and iconic aesthetic with two new Classique Classic watches.
