After the Starfish 1000 Automatic 43mm and the Quartz 40mm, Tissot presents a new 40mm Automatic in five different versions. The new models are all 40 mm in diameter and feature a unidirectional rotating bezel with a diving scale.
The new model is made of stainless steel with a turquoise dial (T120.807.11.091.00) or black dial (T120.807.11.051.00), a black dial (T120.807.22.051.00) in a gold (yellow gold PVD) case and a black dial (T120.807.33.051.00) or a blue dial (T120.807.37.041.00) in an all-black PVD case.
The case is 40 mm in diameter and 12.5 mm thick, with a sapphire crystal, a guarded crown and a see-through case back. The "1000" in the watch's name refers to 1000 feet, or 300 meters of water resistance.
All dials are finished with a vertical brushed finish with subtle black gradients around the edges to create a smoky effect. The hour and minute hands and appliquéd indexes are coated with a white fluorescent material to ensure readability in low-light conditions. There is also a date window at 6 o'clock.
The new models are powered by the Powermatic 80 automatic calibre, which contains 23 jewels and is clocked at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and offers a power reserve of up to 80 hours.
Tissot's new Starfish 1000 Powermatic 80 40mm comes with a stainless steel bracelet, gold (yellow gold PVD) bracelet or black rubber strap, with prices ranging from £685 to £750. (Photo/text: Xu Chaoyang, the home of watches)
