In 2022, Hamilton signed a partnership with Swiss helicopter rescue company Air-Glaciers. Glacier Air is recognized as one of the most advanced helicopter rescue agencies in the world, with nearly 60 years of experience in the field. Hamilton has unveiled a new Khaki Aviation Pilot (Model: H64655941). Designed for Glacier Aviation helicopter pilots, the watch features a titanium case with a bright blue dial for precision, legibility and durability.
The new model has a diameter of 42 mm and a thickness of 12.1 mm. The case is made of titanium with a brushed finish, a double-sided anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a guarded crown and a case back with a small semicircular sapphire crystal aperture, water-resistant to 100 metres. Titanium is lightweight and less sensitizing, reducing the weight of the watch by up to 45% compared to steel.
The dial features a red and blue colour scheme in Glacier Air, with wide sword-shaped hour and minute hands, contrasting white markers, and Super-LumiNova luminescent material that glows green in the dark, ensuring that the dial information is legible. The central seconds hand is inspired by the rotor blades of a helicopter and is decorated with red stripes. There is also a day and date window at 3 o'clock.
Powered by the H-30 automatic calibre, a 25-jeweled movement with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), the watch is equipped with a Hamilton Hamilton rotor, a Nivachron anti-magnetic balance spring and a modified drive chain for a long power reserve of 80 hours.
The watch comes with a leather-lined blue nylon Velcro strap that is not only lighter than a metal bracelet, but also fits perfectly on the wrist and is comfortable to wear. In addition, the watch is fitted with a brown suede strap.
