Qianlong once gave Liu Yong an upper association to embarrass him, but he did not expect that Liu Yong made up the lower link on the spot, and the imposing text directly changed Qianlong's outlook, and Liu Yong also lived up to expectations and became a generation of capable people. So, how good is this alliance so that Qianlong can directly let go of his dissatisfaction?
There have been 408 emperors in Chinese history, some of whom are famous for their great achievements, others who have been reviled for their mediocrity, and many of whom have only survived in a few historical records, and no one knows exactly what they did.
Among them, Qianlong is obviously the former. Although late Qing politics itself was already crumbling, the Kang Qian prosperous era, as the last prosperous era of the feudal dynasty, still left a magnificent chapter in history.
The Qianlong Emperor, the sixth emperor of the Qing Dynasty, died in 1735 at the age of 89. He was one of the longest-reigning emperors in Chinese history, and during his reign, the country was strong and socio-economically prosperous, and he was known as the "Qianlong Prosperous Era".
The Qianlong Emperor was not only a talented man in politics and the military, but also an emperor with a talent for literature. The Qianlong Emperor himself was very enthusiastic about literature, proficient in poetry, calligraphy, painting and other art forms, and had close contacts with many literati. He wrote a large number of poetry and calligraphy works, demonstrating his vast knowledge and outstanding literary talent.
According to statistics, Qianlong has written more than 40,000 poems. Although many of these poems are described as oil poems, and the quality of these poems is slightly inferior, these have not been transferred to the criticism of Qianlong's own literary level.
And Qianlong once gave Liu Yong a problem. Liu Yong is an outstanding scholar and artist, known for his name Shi'an. He was brilliant and involved in politics, painting and calligraphy, literature and historiography.
He entered the middle school in the 16th year of Qianlong and served as the examiner of the Guangdong Township Examination. However, due to his father's mishandling of affairs, he was dismissed along with his father and handed over to the Criminal Department. After that, he was transferred to Jiangsu Xuezheng and in 1763 was promoted to prefect of Taiyuan.
Unfortunately, his subordinates embezzled the treasury, resulting in him being sentenced to death, but a year later he was pardoned by the Qianlong Emperor and returned to the capital. He then returned to his hometown of Shandong and kept the rules.
In 1777, he was appointed as the official examiner of the Jiangnan Township Examination and became a Jiangsu scholar. In 1797, he was awarded the rank of Fellow of the University of Tirenge and went to Shandong to hear cases. In 1800, he was made a young prince and was responsible for handling cases of corruption and abuse of power by Hejun and his henchmen.
He was proficient in Confucianism, especially in calligraphy, and was known as one of the four great calligraphers of the Qianlong Dynasty. His calligraphy works are full of ink, and the font is dignified and powerful. His poems cover a wide range of genres, and his language is concise and fresh, and he is highly regarded. In addition, he is the author of works such as the Collected Poems of Shian.
In 1801, after serving as president of the Kaikan Hall, he died of illness at the age of 85.
However, although there is no clear historical record, according to rumors at the time, Liu Yong was a Luo pot when he was young, that is, hunchbacked. Therefore, the talented he was not recognized by Qianlong at first. And Qianlong's couplet was also to embarrass Liu Yong and make him retreat in spite of the difficulties.
Therefore, Qianlong gave the Shanglian "can only be lamentable, bent wood is difficult to be a top beam", which means that the hunchbacked person cannot bear the role of the top pillar and can only play a role as an ordinary master.
Liu Yong immediately understood what Qianlong meant, but these talented people and famous people all had a common characteristic, that is, they regarded themselves as high, and Liu Yong was no exception. He wrote his dissatisfaction in the next link, and he wrote "I am very happy, and I can shoot the wolf only if I bend my bow."
This answer borrows the image of "shooting the sky wolf" in Su Shi's poem. Su Shi used the "Heavenly Wolf" metaphor to refer to Liao and Western Xia, expressing his desire to serve the imperial court, and his willingness to fight for the country's war.
This downlink not only completes the ingenious structure of battle and workmanship, but also contains the answer that is not humble or arrogant.
Just as only a curved bow can shoot down the Sirius in the sky, Liu Yong shows that he is more than capable of a possible task or challenge. This sentence not only shows Liu Yong's positive attitude towards challenges, but also shows his confidence and determination. It complements the upper link, and the overall momentum is magnificent, which can be said to be a classic answer.
Hearing this answer, Qianlong first expressed his dissatisfaction with the choice of the word "Heavenly Wolf". He believes that when Su Shi wrote this poem, he faced the attack of Liao and Western Xia, and now that the Qing Dynasty is strong, why the wolf?
And Liu Yong's answer also made Qianlong completely realize that he was a malleable talent. Liu Yong said he wanted to deal with all corrupt officials in the imperial court and work for the benefit of the people.
After that, Liu Yong's actions did not disappoint Qianlong, and he won people's praise for his honesty and integrity during his tenure as the prefect of Jiangning, which to a certain extent improved the extremely corrupt social reality at that time, and was deeply loved and respected by the people.
